They're not supposed to use any descriptive word. That's up to the congress and/or law enforcement. If I witness a shooting, I don't use the word murder when I talk to the cops, I just describe what I saw and heard. The criminal terminology is up to the law, not the witness.

As former military, I will tell you, when a superior starts addressing you as "Mister," he intends to get you dismissed from the military. It is most definitely an insult, and perhaps even a threat, to call a ranking service member "mister" when he is taking official testimony.
Problem is, Nunes is not Vindman's superior. Not even the cows would listen to Nunes, which is why he ran for Congress...
Isn't it also customary to wear dress uniform when giving testimony to Congress in your official capacity as a military member of the government? Yet all the Republicans were claiming he was just pulling the soldier card.
