      @@megahurtz30 Question/Help. Hi I need help, I just bought used two notes from guitar center, I have connected my Marshall dsl 20 speaker out to the two notes speaker in, and two notes speaker out to the cabinet’s speaker output, I don’t think it’s working, I haven’t damaged my amp nor two notes attenuator. Right now the two notes attenuator out level isn’t attenuating my amp, all my signal is from the marshall volume control, not from the two notes out level.

      @@redstrat5976 I just tested those outputs a moment ago. It goes like this: The ATT output, attenuates 20 dB of volume to your cabinet, it's a fixed value, you can't modify it. The THRU output just sends normal volume to your cabinet. The OUT LEVEL control in the Captor, only controls the volume that goes to your PC/Audio interface. If your THRU and ATT outputs sound the same volume, than something's wrong with the Captor

      It might be that the attenuator he's using is allowing him to get good sounds at low volumes. If you aren't using one, that could be part of the problem.

      @@SugarMapleForge The amp has two seperate master volumes for each channel so that won't make much of a difference. An attenuator works much better with non-MV amps like Plexis where the only way to really get it saturated and distorted is the to crank the volume.

    I put money down on the DSL100HR which is on backorder, then I’ve been seeing lots of reviews on this bad boy. It’s for home use and TH-cam videos so, maybe it’s plenty.
    I missed my Marshall MG15 adding an output jack, and plugged in my Marshall 4x12, it sounds amazing. This would be much better yet.

    Hello, I have same amp, but it seems, that resonance does not work. What do you think about your amp? Thank you...

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very very subtle. It does seem to work but it only seems to boost below 100 hz, so you'll need very good speakers/monitors/headphones to ear it. But i can see it when recording from the amp, the waveforms are a little bigger when i increase the resonance.

    How much attenuates the two notes torpedo captor the DSL20 head for bedroom playing? I guess at 10W mode will attenuate to 0.1W but does it gives versatility to adjust at low volumes?

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the unit has 20dB attenuation. How much or how does it change the volume and tone? I haven't tried it yet, because i only use it for silent playing, so 100% attenuation. But maybe i'll try to do a video where i even try to measure the dB in the room using that 20dB attenuation mode.

    • @megahurtz30

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it adds some tightness. This amp is not too boomy or muddy, but the TS-9 reduces some more low end and some low mids. It also makes the sound a little brighter, like you have bright pickups instead of darker sounding ones. That's how i would describe it

    For bedroom players is a good amp?can you play thrash and death metal at low volumes? Thanks man!!

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thank you very much!! :) Yeah, all these small watt tube amps, they are still a bit loud, but you can work the volume knob there to get to a nice low volume, i don't feel any real significant difference in tone by using little volume, not on this amp at least. But i would advise either getting an isolation cabinet, or like i used here, a load box with DI output, to play at home...

      I live in the mountains, no neighbors nearby .. ok, I have no neighbors but family, that's why my interest in "low" volume .. What they had told me is that this amp needs an overdrive for thrash metal .. I think It improves a lot with the ts..as you have been able to verify it closely..what do you think? And is it noisy? .. is a noise door very necessary? ... thanks a lot man

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nah, i don't find it very noisy. If you use an overdrive, it can increase the noise though, it depends on the overdrive used. It can do thrash without the overdrive, but it will sound a bit better with it, it will shape the sound better making it tighter. But the amp has enough gain by itself

    • @J_Braz_
      @J_Braz_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got a dsl20 last week. I've noticed at low volumes it has some fizz. And if I turn the volume to zero on the amp I can still hear the guitar bleeding through the speaker when strummed. The higher the eq, and gain knobs are turned makes it worse. Is this normal? Have y'all experienced this? When the volume is around 2 it sounds good. Still can hear a little fizz. I've got a Harley Benton 212 coming from thomann. Hopefully that will be an improvement from the line6 spider 75 watt combo that is my current cab.

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@J_Braz_ You are right about the volume at zero, it does have a little bit of sound. As for the fizz, at low volumes, most amps, won't sound great, Marshalls are notorious with that

    What do you prefer, Marshall or Orange?

    • @megahurtz30
      @megahurtz30  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, i only have the DSL 20 and the Orange Dark Terror. They are different. I don't have a favourite, they both have their sound. The Marshall has those typical highs and high mids, and it's fairly tight even with a lot of gain. It also comes with a lot of features, like it's higher watt counterparts. The Orange Dark Terror is very simple with minimal controls, it has a sound maybe closer to some Mesas (maybe?), so, different than Marshall. It also has it's place. If you crank the gain to full, it will sound a bit fuzzy because it doesn't filter the bass coming from the guitar has much (i suspect). It also has some very high freq. that you might want to filter out, or not, depending of what you want. I simply like them both.
