It's actually insane how the bluecoats have continually been doing new things nobody else would dare to try for the past decade. This show, and 2016, and 2015 were all years and years ahead of their time. They're like the James Cameron of drum corps now.
I'm so excited because I think this show started off a new "story" style show Era. Like crown and BAC's upcoming 2023 shows both giving off story style.
They are definitely coming up with innovative shows. Though I would challenge that the move towards more and more narration is not a positive change. This show and 23 uses narration in every transition and even some of the main horn holds. IMO that takes away from the skill of the performers and shifts the focus. They can still have cool and innovative shows without a recorded voice talking the whole time.
Yeah they’d couldn’t had the gold if they tightened up the high brass and figured out their transition out of the ballad sooner. Such an amazing show, regardless!
That entire piece of music is insane. It sounds crazy. That bass line just chugging along. Something about the chord progression gives me that "perilous" feeling. I love it so much
It was one of the many very impressive moments, and it seems as the part of the performance that would be the fatest part of a race where everyone puts their biggest fastest effort. But for me, I gotta say my favorite has to be starting around 8:01. Wish I could have been there in person and can only imagine how amazing that may have sounded live. Can’t think of anything that compares to an entire DCI level horn line in block formation all harmonically blaring and holding a climactic note right at the stands. And the way this show built up to that part made it extra special.

Because of this I refunded my subscription but was curious of how you got this audio from FloMarching. Maybe I'm dumb and did something wrong lmao
I do really like the show. But I honestly feel like I would’ve liked it more if they had their classic uniforms on, like 2015 esque. Not sure why. I see both sides of the new uniform argument, but in this specific case I feel like the show WOULD have been better with OLD unis. Does anybody else feel like that?
My feeling might stem from the bluecoats identity. Like with these new uniforms THEY are the characters the show is talking about. With the old uniforms they are the ones telling the story of the characters - adding another layer to the show. I don’t know maybe I’m just crazy

while the unis this year weren't my favourite (by far), I still feel it was a better option than having the old unis, these fit the show better imo
