The video was very useful and concise. Do you have a video on how to measure permeability using ImageJ? Thanks.

There are numerous plugins listed on the webpage of ImageJ. In order to work with thin sections, do I need to install any of those additional plugins available or just the inbuilt plugins would suffice?

It is very interesting. I have measured the porosity of a core plug sample(sandstone) from a gas field using a Gas Porosimeter and planning to prepare a thin section of that sample for microscopic analysis of the pore spaces and minerals. Will it be authentic to measure the porosity of the thin section using ImageJ?

do you have more videos about using ImageJ for rocks thin sections? Thank you

Dear Proffessor¡ Thanks for your video¡ I am working with microfluidics devices and I trying to obtain the total porosity of my chips, Do you know if these tool is useful for me?

anyone feels like image-j calculates porosity lower than it actually is? (I am calculating porosity of epoxy impregnated rock thin sections)

What if there is no %area in the result list?

Thanks for this video - very interesting. Do you know how to measure the circumference of the areas of porosity? Or alternatively, do you know how to measure the area of an image that is NOT represented by porosity?

In the menu item Analyze/Set_Measurements there are many options of measurements to return, including Area and Perimeter of each pore space or grain depending on how you threshold the image. The area that is NOT porosity is the total area minus porosity area.

Thankyou professor... I just want to know that how will we compare porosities between different thin sections.. as we change the threshold it give the % area of porosity accordingly.. do I need to fix mean or mode or something else? Or all results will be based on my judgment
