I live in Calgary, Alberta and this is just a few hours from me, I love it there! Also, where you were snowshoeing, the lake is called Emerald Lake and it is absolutely beautiful in the summertime! The colour of it is just amazing. :)

I live here. They are both amazing! You can't go wrong with either. Lake Louise has a better view. Banff Springs Is arguably the better hotel and has the advantage of being next to the town of Banff. They both have amazing histories, architecture, and both are extremely expensive to stay at (celebrities and Royalty stay there). As I've said you can't go wrong with either, and they are only a half hours drive away from each other, so you can experience both even if you are just staying in one of them. You will never find a better view than Lake Louise on a sunny day in the summer, and in the winter there are world-class ski resorts.
I used to work there at Fairmont Banff.. its AMAZING there, you can do a lot of activities you wont get bored there, You guys should go to jasper too mountains there are spectacular.. :)
