    How do you like the new camera footage vs the older footage?

      Overall very good, although it did lose some focus occasionally.

    Audio is a bit one sided.
    other than that nice build.

    Thanks, I was racking my mind trying to figure out how to make wagon wheels without spending $20 on a few premade ones.

    Love the wheel design I was stressing about this as I have to make a bunch for a large project. Thanks man.

    Killer build might be also great for the opening encounter for "The Lost Mine of Phandelver".

    I love how your style of crafting is not too simple, but not too complicated. I think more channels need to dial back a little and be a bit more like yours.

    Why use foam if you have the hobby wood? It seems like a unnecessary step to make the foam look like wood when you have the materials for actual wood slats. Just curious, not a criticism.

    • @ScatterCraft
      @ScatterCraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with hobby wood is you have to make it look like wood also and it’s a lot harder to do. You can’t see the grain. Also the foam is a pleasure to work.

    Love it overall. One tiny detail is bugging me to death though. The wheels should have been center of the load to balance the weight. I know it's minor but when you stuck the barrels in there my first thought was "he's never going to able to lift that." Sorry it looks great and I don't mean to pick it's just hard for me to see glaring physics problems.

    Why always using Mod Podge with black. For Wood brown could be ok ?

    • @T1p2
      @T1p2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mod podge seals the craft and gives a nice base for the paint to adhere to. The black paint mixed in allows you to see where you have applied the mod podge and also provides a nice, general base coat for most things - lending depth and shadow to the piece and overall lending a darker, more aged or weathered tone to the piece. You can, of course, use different colors as a base coat instead of black (light blue for ice, as an example), so feel free to mix and match and experiment to see what works for you.

    Im new to this ,why do you put dish soap in it when makin a wash?

    • @ScatterCraft
      @ScatterCraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They say it works as a flow aid to help it get in the details better. I cannot prove this though I just do it because I’m susceptible to peer pressure. 😂

    Any tips on making foam lumber without using a hot wire cutter? Whenever I try, they always vary too much in thickness/size. It's fine, but it isn't the most efficient way to do it by hand. There has to be another way!!!

    • @ScatterCraft
      @ScatterCraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started by using dollar store foam core but if you want a little thinner you can get foam plates and cut the flat bottoms out and use for lumber. That works well too.

      I understand in any of these cuts can be done with a knife. I ended up buying naproxen just because it was much more pleasure to use and would get me into crafting more

    What is the pink stuff you did the boards with? you got a really nice, in scale wood effect on that!
    Oh yes that came out really nice, the hay looks great and so do the barrels...worth a sub and a like...us miniature fans should stick together even though your stuff is quite a bit smaller than what I am trying to do!

  • @TioMostFrio
    @TioMostFrio 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am a new sub. I really like your videos but the audio needs some help. This whole video was mixed almost entirely to the left and it was a bit loud at times (foam core scraping was a good example). I do not mean to be hard on you but your videos are like a 7/10 right now (as is) and I think with a few minor fixes it could easily be a 9. I recommend editing with headphones before you upload. Your work is a testament to your channel growth and I’m excited to see what you do next.

    A great little build! I recommended this vid to a friend of mine a week back and when i was talking to him yesterday he showed me a few he’d built using this as a guide - some of them had two wheels, some had four (one that he’d stretched out had six wheels; he joked it was gonna be a stretch limo for a gnome kingpin he was planning to use in a session later this week), and i noticed that some of his wagons used buttons for wheels, which i thought was a pretty crafty alternative!

    Why the dish soap?

    • @ScatterCraft
      @ScatterCraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They say it helps the paint flow better. Most quality store bought washes will have some sort of flow aid mixed in.

    great scatter terrain. I just found your channel, subbed! Curious... How were you able to grow so quickly? I am have a harder time. Thanks

    • @ScatterCraft
      @ScatterCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks. A couple things I try to do is a cross post whenever I have a new video on Reddit, Facebook groups and others. I also spend a lot of time editing to try to make the videos as concise as possible. I listen to every sentence I say and look at every bit of video footage and if I can’t think of a reason that scene is there I will delete it. I typically take more time editing than doing the actual build. I’ve also had times where I’ve completely scrapped videos because I didn’t think it was good enough for the audience. I also keyword research a lot for my titles. Most of my videos rank really high because I tailor the keyword titles to what people are searching. Hope that helps reach out if you have other questions. Thanks
