Music was so much fun & entertaining back in the 50's-60's what a great time to a live in that era, the music the cars, fashion, movies, t.v. exetra life was just simpler compared to the mess we have today....
He was a great singer, had some good moves too, a shame that he died so young. People were so well dressed and stylish in the 50s, cool suits and shoes, neat haircuts. Now it's all saggy pants, stupid hats, prison tattoos, I hope 50s style makes a comeback.
+stan smith And the thing is, Jackie Wilson was a tough dude. He had many scrapes with the law when he was young and would fight at the drop of a hat even after he made it. But in those days success was about poise and style. Now it's the exact opposite, with suburban kids posturing like hoods.
I'd love to see it make a comeback but I highly doubt it. You have to remember this was post world war 2 and the American dream was born not to long after it ended. Maybe if we have World War 3 we may see things change as a result of it. Its amazing how talented this guy was and its unfortunate he performed in an era where racism limited the success of colored artists. Michael Jackson didn't have half the talent Jackie had and I believe he wouldn't of been very successful in the 50's/60's with Jackie as his competition. Of course MTV refused to play Michael Jackson and Prince videos at the beginning but the 80's were a lot less segregated so they were able to fight back.
stan smith -Those clothes styles did return, back in the 80s. Those guys haircuts in Beverly Hills 90210 & singer Nick Ashley, shoulder pads in suits, baggy pleated pants, wayfarer sunglasses seen in Miami Vice, thin neckties, big hair for girls, early 60s guys roach killer pointy toed dress shoes only this time only for girls. Even in 80s music rock, r&b & pop, the tenor sax that was big in the 50s was usually in there again.

I think this is the live version that sent shivers through me then, as a nine year old white kid, and I've been searching for it on TH-cam for years. That effortless, floating, flying knee drop was the quintessential Mr. Excitement, followed by the rise up again. Phenomenal, too soon gone.

Of course MTV refused to play Michael Jackson and Prince videos at the beginning but the 80's were a lot less segregated so they were able to fight back.
you know your history..He was a very tough dude..and nobody really messed with him except the Mob..
stan smith Check out Leon Bridges and Vintage Trouble
stan smith -Those clothes styles did return, back in the 80s.
You are so right his songs tells a love story to couples
Superb!
This is what u call good music back in the day & im 28 & i love the oldies music
Just can't stop listening to this songs, just can't stop thinking about the youthful days, you seem to love the music alot right, I can tell from your comment, they will be so glad to know that people are out there who cares and appreciate them so dearly.....by the way nice meeting you on here, I hope you are having a wonderful time out there right ????
Jackie was Mr. Excitement. I was so lucky to see him twice in the 1960's at small venues, Palladium Ballroom Houston and his shows were just incredible. He never disappointed and proved he was one of the all time best R&B and soul artists ever.
It was so amazing to watch white girls scream for this man, but he was truly, " Mr. Excitement", & this song was just so classic ! And yes, in those days, performers dressed well, kept themselves classy, & this man was the epitome of talent & class. Wolfsky9
That is what I always loved. They were dressed in suites and ties. Hair comes nice and soooo many slow songs.
I think this is the live version that sent shivers through me then, as a nine year old white kid, and I've been searching for it on TH-cam for years. That effortless, floating, flying knee drop was the quintessential Mr. Excitement, followed by the rise up again. Phenomenal, too soon gone.
z1522 ....Jackie is lip syncing .....not singing a live version .
Mike Vallen and?

The first to have great moves. Loved this song. His range is amazing.
Watch The Flamingos Jump Children in its entirety.
@@jonbryan330 Before James Brown did his fancy footwork, before Little Richard was dancing on his piano, Jackie Wilson was out there doing it! He inspired James Brown, Elvis, Michael Jackson, and generations that followed
70, Now wish I could go back..
What a ride....
So sad for the many millions who only heard Jackie sing and never watched him dance. You can buy his music, and it's awesome, but his on-stage performances were something else altogether. He left us way too soon.
He,is advance in his era, unlike others ,they don't move nor dance. At all👍👍
No wonder why Elvis admired him!
Thank you fo re-posting this. Classic performance of a classic rock'n'roll tune.
He's great !!!!!!
Takes me back to a time I'll always cherish........before Vietnam, before the riots of the 60's, the drug influenced 70's. What a time..........................
+Sneaka Freaka Give me a freaking break.......you're the type who just likes to look at the dark side of things. There was a lot of positive things back then.
+Sneaka Freaka Listen, I was a youngster back in the 50's. Just going into my teens in the early 60's, so being a kid, I remember the good times. I'm also well aware of the situations of the times back then, and not trying to minimize them.
+Sneaka Freaka I took what you said as an insult. "Putting your fingers in your ears won't help against it either", I thought was not a proper response from you.
You seem judgmental.Have a good day!
+Sneaka Freaka Yeah, like the quality of culture, music and human beings is so much better now. GFY
***** What are you mumbling and drooling all over yourself about? Oh, and in case you missed it the first time, GFY
One of the coolest humans that ever lived.
Maybe the best male voice ever
Could watch him forever😍🤗😥
