As a person in who used to be in your place. Give up, its not going to work out. Manga is not something you can make independently. I'll recommend switching to writing a novel, web novel if you wanna keep the English simple. After finish the story, u might have a very very real chance to convert into a manga.
@@Neamio I really do appreciate your advice, but I have a strong will and it’s my dream to get it published independently or not, even if I don’t achieve it I’ll die trying, I really do believe I have a good story here. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not an idiot, I will do everything in my power to market it and get publicity instead of just throwing it into webtoobs or whatever, I’m planning on maybe starting a channel to see if it could gain traction before I realize it in a couple years. So if you wanna know more or wanna give me more advice or whatever I’d highly appreciate it.
@@ghosthost4073 alright I'll continue cause you asked. Only bother reading this if you are truly serious. Trying to craft a manga with no backing is impractical and straight up unrealistic. You can try all the marketing and management you want but at the end of the day its just gonna be impossible for a single guy to do everything. Like take one piece for example. Its literally the biggest manga ever, with all the backing a mangaka can possibly need. And yet Oda has been working for 19hr's a day 6/7 days a week up untill 2020. And let's be honest one piece has great art but no where near the best. So even with all that backing and stuff arguably the most talented AND the most Lucky mangaka has to wither his life away working over time just doing a single thing. So no. Its impossible to write a great story, draw it out well. Market it, manage the production and distribution etc all on your own. Like its literally impossible. Maybe if you have thousands of dollars to spare you can but other than that just no. I'm not even doubting ur will or talent, its just humanly impossible. There is a more important story telling issue with starting ur story as a manga as well. The impossibility of editing. I have written about 25 chapters (50k words) of a my novel and revised it literally dozens of times. But just trying to imagine if I drew the 25 chapters instead of writing them gives me shivers. Like in text format, I can just open my doc and edit a scene or an entire chapter in minutes. Make any change I want as I see fit (still very hard) but thats literally impossible to do with a drawn out scene or chapter, even with modern digital art tools its still thousands of times harder. What will end up happening is that already drawn chapters with mistakes will just stay that way and you'll have to retcon future story or just let it stay as a plot hole. And this happens with many mangas, the professional ones, including one piece. Another thing is you could spend like a decade to independently draw out like a 100 manga chapters and THEN start earning. Or you can just write a web novel and start earning in like 6 months, finish your story the best it can be with tons of editing and the pay a full team to convert it into a manga in like a year or two. And draw it yourself as a fulltime job and financial security. Also if you are truly passionate about story telling the medium won't matter much. Lmk what you will decide to do. Best of luck to you and everyone who read all this yap sesh. ✍️
I think the main thing that people forget about fight scenes is not using a things like characterisation of the combatants and the strategy of the fight, you need to have a fight like D’arby’s poker game against Jotaro, not just “imma punch yer lights out!” *proceeds to punch said lights out.* Give stakes, sacrifice, strategy, sleight of hand (I’m trying to keep it in alliteration lol) and shifting dynamics. Important moments means that your character needs to make important decisions correctly to make it happen, so make sure that he punches that guy in a smart way
Hey guys quick question This video inspired a character within me and I want an honest reaction if its good or not: This person has an direct (speaks freely which created trouble on numerous occasions), overconfident (no one has ever bested them so they must be the best) and calculated (at least calculated enough to be a threat if you cross their way) character and lives as an outcast ever since they (don’t know if this one is a man or woman or between) managed to escape the rough arena of a noble snob. The reason they could survive is because someone else first sparred them in this arena and trained them in private. Then one day they both managed to claw themselves out of there leading for their mentor to bleed out in their arms. Swearing to survive long enough to bring the noble to justice they try to rally enough people to kill this noble. Honoring his mentor the only rule he has for himself is to never beat someone who’s down (as it reminds them of themselves). This however creates problems later down the line second guessing them which kills the noble. „Old friend. We finally did it. We are finally free. But friend. At which cost? I should be happy, but Im not. The void in my heart. Your loss… why does it feel just as worse sinceI lost you? And all I can see is his face. The cold laugh. The shock. The terror. I cannot see him. Just his blood, my blood. My face. Old friend. We lost ourselves.“ And indeed in the end his actions kills a lot of those who followed him. Until the one closet to him takes the blame for him (as this person created the doubts in the first place). This character is a side character and the person that takes the blame later the main protagonist. The setting is Grimdark and ends in a tragedy. So what are your thoughts?
Your primary focus should be on how effectively you execute your character. Any character concept has the potential to be engaging and well-developed if presented thoughtfully and creatively. Consider how they contribute to the overall story and the themes they embody, as this can enhance their impact. On a side note, I would like to see a show or read a book that features your character idea!
@ perfect thats everything I wanted to hear. However if its done I guess the story will be in German so we‘ll see when its done if an English translation is even possible
I've been doing mma for fun for years but what has really troubled me was the way you let the reader imagine that scene and what words i use to get there
One tip I have is to get into your own character's heads and think, "How would character A fight character B, and vice-versa?" factoring in their abilities, powers, secrets, styles, personality, weapons, and even morality. A lot of people dont like it due to obvious reasons, but Goblin Slayer is really good at showing strategy/tactics against multiple opponents.
Squampopulous is a channel that has some really good videos going in depth about some of the things things mentioned here and what makes certain fights good over others
Can I ask what other stories you've been involved besides your book you've link in the video? How long have you been writing stories and how old are you?
Im currently prepping for writing a book, and i would like to know if anyone had any advice/tips for me. I'd like to find all the info i can from people who actually write other than getting some lnfo on the internet, that's a 50/50 chance to be bullshit.
Such perfect timing. I was JUST brainstorming the climactic fight of my story
For example, Pizza Face is Gonna destroy Peppino Pizza. Peppino going to the Pizza Tower to stop Pizza Face from destroying Peppino Pizza
I’ve been writing a manga for years now but I’ve never been able to fully land a fight, this has really opened my eyes and mind, so thanks a lot
I struggle with writing fight scenes, too. Have you published your manga yet?
@ not yet, still have a long way to go, but thanks!

I think the best fight scenes tend to be the ones where the charaters use their environments and other elements around them
Agreed, I do that unintentionally a lot glad its seen as a good trait.

I love writing fights so much, it feels so easy to me.
Ooo was waiting for him to tackle this one
Clicked on the video the instant I got the notification
The thumbnail for this video is hilarious
HE POSTED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
also settings are very important to the fights and tactics

I don't suck at writing fight scenes.
But please tell me how to write a story
Can I ask what other stories you've been involved besides your book you've link in the video? How long have you been writing stories and how old are you?
how did i catch this so early

Didn't you already make this video?
Is this a reupload?
takin' a break in December. Might as well lol. Thanks for being around long enough to remember this video. Next week will be a new video.

Jojo is the most hit or miss anime oat
