How do you like the billstein/ome coil combo? Was the body chop necessary with the 285 tires? Have the same trd with 16s, looks good. Did you run the front leveled as well? Thanks just curious on your observations with the lift etc. Cheers
Great work! The license plate was my favorite mode. Was considering a Lexus GX 470 or 100 Series LC. People like yourself and your FJ has really got me reconsidering. I must be honest I thought the FJ were just for the " yuppies" & bored spoiled college kids. I have seen some other videos and this vehicle is the offspring of two of my favorite Japanese vehicles of all time. I live on a small farm and need a work / faily driving vehicle. I was always put off by the small rear seating but my Grandkids would fit perfectly in there. I hunt, fish , get snow once in awhile and tow a small boat or trailer. This vehicle is looking very appealing for my lifestyle. Wish you would have provided some more details on the roof trunk. Your vehicle is perfect for my uses and very wisely / practically modified. Great Work and keep us updated. Just Subscribed. Semper Fi
RK, Thanks for the Sub and Welcome Aboard. The FJ sounds like it would fit all of your needs except for comfortably seating 5 adults, OK, even 4 Adults. I too was looking at LC 100's or GX 460's, but I have a feeling after the FJ, I'll be looking at used 2 door 2022 Broncos. Carpet Sucks in an off road vehicle! The first thing I did was remove the Back seats, I have no friends🙄 and if I had a few fly in, I'd send an UberXL to get them at the airport and wait at home. The Roof Trunk is a Yakima 18cu/ft Cargo Box. I have videos on hanging it when not in use and building strong cross bars for the FJ to support it when its Heavily loaded. I personally find the cargo box perfect for my needs, secure, good storage, aerodynamic and dry, but millennials don't think its rugged enough for the "OverLoading" Look. If I cared what others thought, I'd have a full sleeve of ink, shaved head with my full beard, Roof Top Tent and an IG Account.
Looks like we did a lot of the same mods. interior LED lights, LED mirror lights, reverse and license plate lights; rubber boot on the antenna. stubby antenna (which is now missing). The motorcycle hooks, I put in three the last screw stripped on me, gonna take an easy out to it one of these days, I still have to do the top ones. I put in the dual USB port and a single USB with voltmeter in the main panel. I put in a cargo net and a folding rack on my rear door. Also have the Rhino tow strap. I really like that lower light bar with the cover. Subscribed.
I wish there was an affordable door folding shelf, I could use that but just get by using the top of the cooler. Then there is about 6 days a year, summers in Moab, I really wish I had an awning. I'll bring tarps and an Umbrella this year!
I'm not a fan of RTT's yet, I like being able to walk in & out of my GTT (Ground Top Tent) Plus storage on the roof is valuable with minimum interior storage.
I've considered a roof-top tent but looked into the pros and cons of it and for me the cons outweigh the pros. I'd prefer to have a little off-road trailer. Or to convert the inside of the FJ.
The bumper light bar looks cool, but would be risky where I live. My first mod was putting on a solid steel ABU bumper in case a deer or soccer mom in her mini van decides to get silly. Protects the lights and radiator and directs anything down to the rock guard and under the vehicle where the skid plates can deal with it.
Hey there! 2 quick questions. 1-How did you install the helmet hooks on the roof ( I have an 07 so maybe the roof is different) 2-I’m not seeing a link to the rear glass vent mod. Where could I find that gadget? Thanks!!!!! Love the channel

I found a guy,, on the FJ forums, north of SLC that did it for me. Its the body mount behind behind the front mud flaps, he cut about an inch off & then welded a cover back where the piece was removed. I needed this so I wouldn't rub with the 285's. Several videos on here showing the process.
@@UncleFjester Yea I've seen some of those videos and some are just terrible, jerry rigging shit and half assing it. I guess some folks just don't give a shit.
I really didnt either, & would a Hacked this myself if I hadnt found someone else to do it that could weld. Mine needs to be wire brushed, primed and repainted properly, this summer.
About to get the same tires and rims, but mine is not lifted and the guy I bought it from said it’s better to lift it 3 inches so the tires won’t rub !? Should I do body mount chop + 3 inch lift ?
I'm curious on where you got that flag mount! Everytime I search for one, Google gives me the ones for giant flags on the back of trucks. And if so, I would assume that you wouldn't recommend putting my rig through a car wash with the flag on the roof rack right? Also, how did you get the mod buttons installed?
Do you have a link to the cross bar mounts you are using? I need to replace my cross bars and I love your idea of the ring mounts with wider bars. I'd rather not spend $1000 on a new rack. Thanks in advance.

I watched the WHOLE VIDEO of “mods” as an owner of two 4x4 FJ Cruisers thinking, “oh he’s just saving the most awesome stuff for last!” You never even POPPED THE HOOD. The only reason the shocks and struts were “the only thing” that a mechanic did is because they’d laugh you out of a shop asking to put that simple stuff on. You make part upgrade videos if you apply a sticker or a new hands free phone charger docking station, too??? Come on, man! Mine has way more than that. And I may have spent more on the mods, because they’re REALLY MODS. But I guarantee you spent $10-15k more on that FJ when you didn’t need to, at minimum! I got my last 4x4 used with good mileage for under $15k, first took the stock wheels and tires off and replaced the OEM wheels and street tread tires with Hankook (made by Cooper) LT285/70R17 10 ply A/T tires wrapped around Helo HE904 wheels that were $156.00 each; the tires were an even $200 each, installation included. Sold those OEM wheels and 50-60% tread tires for a reasonable $300.00 to invest back into the vehicle. Then I got a professional tune and a REAL chip installation. American made with only American components out of FL. The tune and chip install was done by an employee of mine who is an ASE certified mechanic. He didn’t charge me. The chip was $56.00. Companies are allowed to exaggerate to a degree but I still got an increase in horsepower on the performance setting in double digits, although not the promised 35hp. It did provide upwards of around 40 ft/lbs of torque in towing mode, though...and in daily driver it got my basically 33” tired 4x4 to low to mid 20’s in mpg. Then, K&N intake system (not aluminum). Simple install, $350.00 in parts. Another 7-10 increase in horsepower and 5-10mpg better fuel economy in all 3 modes. It’s not a TRD, so without the $4k supercharger the 4.0l V6 is already making right around 300hp in performance mode, with the pro tune, and the intake. That’s with factory exhaust still, which is changing next, and finally flat black Line X on the roof, mirrors, hood decal location, and any other gray accent part and places vulnerable to limbs and such on old log skidder trails. Oh, I have the same rock rails as you except mine came with the car. When you say, “Mods,” people want to hear about THAT kind of thing! And winches and stuff. Things that increase drive ability and performance! Increases to the engineering performance and longevity of the car. Sorry for the rant but if you want to get your subscribers up, do that instead.
