Good Old Days. Nostalgia hearing the sound of Dota 1. 💔

In the "good old days" there wasn't such a thing like «Dota 1». The various Defense of the Ancients available were DotA (made by Eul for RoC in 2003), many porting attempts for TFT made by various mapmakers, DotA 2: Thirst For Gamma (also made by Eul) and DotA: Allstars, started as a blending of the various DotA for TFT and then evolved in the most played version overall.
Dota 1 is the best !!!

The heroes looks cool but the effects of skills needs improvement but still its awesome that they're bringing the original dota back!

Both are original. Dota2 is standalone client while in w3 is just a mod.
Its beta and dota is not even touched... Just auto replaced.... Sooo lol it shold be way better
Dota mod for W3 is just using amalgamation of various effects,doodads in the game . Blizzard themselves aren't creating all those skills,just the effects,which are meant for something far different than what dota does with them. The skills you see in the video isn't really what default characters can do in the game, they're just MADE to do them by stitching together assets through a form of command programming .

I wish they'd make a persona in Dota 2 based on some of the DotA design. like the panda storm,earth and ember spirit. there's also legion commander old guy with a horse. that would be dop. the Magina and TB persona would be dope when I was young I always thought they were brothers in DotA blind brothers who look so cool

yes I was talking about DotA. where Am and TB looks identical and as a kid I thought they were brothers. one is evil and one is good. their design was the coolest for me when I was a kid. and I especially liked TB, when he runs he leave fire tracks in his steps.

It’s amazing how Valve was able to retain the spirit of Dota while also revamping it and making it look better. It’s also amazing how a lot of the original WC3 looks better than the remaster.
Shet its been 11 years since ive played Dota 1. I just cried when I heard techies voice and the sound of the horn. I miss when I was young 😭😭

В общем, в DOTA 2 анимация наглядно показывает как каст так и сами скиллы, но модельки героев потеряли в брутальности, стали мультяшными, а в Warcraft 3 Reforged персонажи в реалистичности прибавили, с нормальными пропорциями тела, но в остальном как-то не очень смотрится

@lalrivunga hnamte I'm far from being an expert, but as a fan of Wc3 i can tell they completely forgot how to render the minimal design of characters. The new designs are well detailed and rich but thats not what I want to see from good old Wc3. I mean... the "harmful but harmless" charm is replaced by "harmful and horrific" charm. Too much and not desired for a cartoonish style game. Of course thats an opinion of old games fan :)

Yeah, reforged models are absolute crap. Theres too much visual noise in every single model that you have no clue where to rest the eyes on. Totally failed character design class.

In DotA, I have never played a game like that before, but when my friends introduced me I was killing it until we were grouped to 5 people and start battling other people and winning. And so battling my friends who introduced me to their game and winning. That was such a cool game.
Edit: By the way, my Favorite hero was Yurnero (Juggernaut)
Gotta be honest, I never noticed that in the Goblin Bomb Squad model, the Barrel was also a Goblin. I always assumes they dragged it behind them.

I was looking at Rylai's ult in w3 and it looked really cool, and them Dota's ult came in and it looks amazing, i just never payed atention to the animation in the middle of the tf

The only thing I miss in Dota 1 is the cool aura effects. Reforged looks good but in Dota 2 you can just mix Skin/Cosmetic set to make your heroes unique.

People take it for granted, but Dota 2 looks so much smoother. Granted the original dota could only play with the effects available to the game. Probably why the spells in the direct port in WC3: Reforged look just as bad.
Still ? it has changed so much. Check a video from 8 years ago. Btw i agree, it's a nice looking game. Also me (and my potato pc) liked the change to source2, which not only made the game nicer, but slighlty increased fps for me

Reforged dota is like a remake of dota 1, it is even notable since the characters are based on the same ones, such as Juggernaut being a fel orc (or red orc) in dota 1 when in dota 2 he is another race.
Love how dota was born from WC3 and lots of other games.
