I recently bought an older craftsman mower with the same engine.
I've worked on more than a few as mud mowers. They're powerful and reliable!

Those engines are pretty rare now, id try and get it going again or sell it for some money. Its worth more than $30 alone

Even used, those engines will go for a minimum of $100, more if running well and cleaned up. Those are expensive to buy new, if they're even still available.

The engine is worth it just keep the idle higher than 1800rpm and it'll last forever

@@artemartem1134 yea, definitely not my favorite, I really don’t like the 2 bolts that go up into the carb, very easy to strip the threads

I've always found them to be a breeze to work on. I can't think of a single time that one has ever given me issues.
They're such a blast to drive with a pulley swap and the deck removed.

Will take a lot to fix it if engine and deck are good

@@philliphall5198 I probably would have to pay 30 for the whole thing, it’s missing a deck, seat and hood, it would also need a set of tires. I’d have too much money into it
