- From the Malcolm Wrigley collection, a series of shots taken on the SW main line west of Hook. As well as the parade of old slam door EMU's there are also a number of examples of the class 442 Wessex sets. Hampshire DEMU's can also be seen (and heard!).
Great footage 👍
A wonderful record - thank you very much for this!
Nice compilation, greetings 🇳🇱
ahhhh beautiful footage. As a woking driver, i used to drive this route…you have a handful
of stations to stop at…they are located nicely apart which means you can take power…and open up..and then coast..four track section whole way and a decent line speed varying from 75 to 90 max…so driving is nice and flowing. lovely too see the slam doors as the mainstay still and yeses still
ahead of them. 442s as always looking graceful as the main express unit still early on in their lives. and then the odd HAP and thumper 205 units..the frail elderly gents…many years of service behind them at this point. can i also note with these lovely videos is intend to note what was happening back in this time…our poor fred mercury had only passed away, but mansell was the f1 champ in 92…woweeee how out ago was this!!!
Really glad you enjoyed the video...always great to hear the view from the cab. I've found some more footage of my own along the LSW main line so stay tuned! 😊
