I just got one today. I broke it twice. But considering it was in the negatives here in South dakota, breaking a driveshaft and control arm was thankfully the least of My worries. A 3 cell 5,000 mah battery really gets the job done for her. I can't wait to have more fun with it in warmer conditions and break it less!!

I remember when I converted my 2wd rustler vxl in a rustler 4x4 with a stampede 4x4 chassis, now you have a RTR model of the rustler 4x4. Very good job 👍👍👍👌

i never realy wanted one of these i wanted a traxxas erevo 1/16 vxl but that was not exacly fitting my desciption of fun then i looked into this car and boom

I have this. It's very fast. I will wheelie at speed and it will break the rear axles over and over, even the HD ones. if you buy this, go ahead and get the steel axle upgrades and forget about them. Those things are legit, but pricey. In my opinion worth it for the peace of mind and not having to disassemble your RC every time you do a good run. Also, the wing is a weak spot and it will tear your body where they meet. Make some effort to fortify this area or remove the wing to save the body. A seller on ebay has a short wing that is thick to replace the stock one and it is intended to keep it from tearing the body like a tin can the way the factory one does, because you WILL land it on the tail end and it WILL mess your body up. Look into the net mesh that covers the internals because rocks will find their way inside and mess up the exposed center drive shaft and cut it like a pipe cutter as it spins a billion RPMs a minute. If you stay in the dirt and don't run on small rocks, you may be okay. Also, the rear pins that hold the A arms to the hub will slip out on some landings, so not a big deal because nothing is broken. You just have to remove the wheel and put the pin back in. I recently put RPM front and rear A arms in mine with MUCH beefier cross bracing at the hub, so I'm hopeful that issue will be solved. If you can drive like the person in this video, you may be fine, but I can't. I don't want to spoil all the fun of learning a new RC so I'll leave it there. I love mine and I am always looking for stuff to huck it off of. It's pretty tough with some weakness that can be resolved easily.

It sure looks awesome, but it’s technically NOT a rustler. Im sure handling wise it’s pretty much a lowered stampede 4x4 with a rustler/revo style body. The rustler HAS to be a 2wd to have the authentic handling of a stadium truck built in the 90’s/00’s

My rustler is always first in the trunk when i go to my bash sites. I run a xmaxx and have an e revo which i really enjoy but there is something about the speed and nimbleness of the rustler that always gives me a grin. I admit it needed gtr shocks , motor and esc fans and upgraded axles to fit my driving needs, but right out of the box it was quite good. It even handled 3s in 80 degree temps. It seems to get buried in the marketing by the higher end cars and the slash on the 1/10 scale but i have a slash and the rustler is way more fun.
@@DUNGSTA yeah for me it is. No traction rolls and the body doesnt act like a big parachute on jumps. However i have since turned my slash into a dune buggy with a smaller body and bigger tires and its better but for stunts and bashing the rustler wins every time.
Its actually crasyness how good it handles!! I bought it today...used to mp7,5 . But THIS... shiitake.. this is 2 days training 😂. 14 days then! But wooww... my best by in Years!! And im 50, and have driven flightplass at nurenbering in 330km! This one..rqslluy makes rc fun again. 121 km/h with gps;))
This is going to exceed my 71MPH Telluride 4X4!!! And since she's running Slash 4X4 Differentials, this could be the ultimate big tire running snow basher... . . . Oh and the center diff will make for some insane front tire unloading!!! 😈 Gonna be EPIC!!!!!! 😎

JUST bought a 2wd Brushless VXL Rustler... well, looks like I’m gonna have 2 rustlers now...
They should of gotten rid of the plastic driveshafts and put on steel universal shafts like what they did on the E revo 2.0
at least you can put in the xo-1 driveshafts with a little mods go cheak out the video traxxas made it

Well if I read the spec correctly looks like the rustler’s chassis is about 20mm longer then the Stampede.

JMO OPS in my opinion, the rustler needs to be 2wd. This is nothing like a rustler, and it wont handle nearly as ‘authentic’ as the 2wd
