“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT
As someone who had HO trains as a kid and up through High School, but now with a renewed interest in the hobby, THANK YOU for “remembering” what it was like to be a beginner. There’s a lot of good information on the Internet, but more of those people assume you have basic knowledge and up, and they completely forget that some people are coming in at this as complete newbies.(or very outdated experience.). I’ve watched your channel more than any others because of your approach and I thank you for that. Best of luck in the new year ahead!
I love your idea with what you’re going to do with the channel. I think it’s phenomenal. As a new enthusiast to the hobby, it is wonderful that you are doing this. Please keep it up!
Thanks for all you do!
Really appreciate your channel! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for doing this, Jimmy.
Looking forward to seeing all the new content
Hi Jimmy, love the idea of the book.
Yeah!! Phase II. This will be helpful in finding unique products.
Hey Jimmy - I love all your videos - obviously done with a passion for the hobby, and also extremely interesting information, and very fun to watch. I am a long time gamer, as well as a railroader, and I have introduced some game like elements (random events, schedule encounters, etc) into operations (which at the heart are car cards and waybills). I am really looking forward to your next video, and maybe a book, on the subject.
Thanks for all you do and your honesty. I always enjoy your videos and they give me inspiration to keep going. 🙂
I’d love to see you make a 4x8 lego layout
Thank you, Jimmy. You have helped me get back into the hobby and get my first ever solo layout started. Please keep doing what you are doing. It is very much appreciated.
you are the best out hee thank you so much
Great video. Great plans and ideas. . 👍✌️
HAPPY CHANNEL BIRTHDAY! Keep up the great work and THANKS for all you do for our hobby.
Good luck with all that you have spoken about.
A place ( list) of companies to in one place where we can get things that are not available in the commercial market would be a God send. Maybe in the future you might have access to info about companies that the owners have died and others have taken up the banner. Ex: North West Short Line. They say they are in business but can't give a straight answer as to when you can get their produce. Is a year and a half too long?
Keep up the good work Jimmy, Your channel is one of the main reasons I picked up the hobby again since my childhood, I always like seeing the videos you put out, and I look forward to seeing your future projects.
9:07 Well thank YOU for making this video and this Channel!
Happy 6 years for your channel.
Will you be posting your new layout track specs? I noticed in this video phase 1 looks slightly different.
I would also be interested in this as well as anything about getting started on building it, as someone just building their first n-scale 2x4 layout
Happy 6 year anniversary! Im REALLY looking forward to the new layout and that folding table project (sounds interesting🧐) Thanks to your channel and the hard work you put into your videos, i have gained the knowledge and motivation to start a layout too. For tutorials and explanations, you are Definitely the go-to place! Thank you! 😃
Train games book…..Yes please😊
2:52 that phantom dead spot could be due to a bad rail joiner
i am contemplating entering the hobby, i have enjoyed your UTube videos and how to's. Thank you for what you do.
That is a very enthusiastic plan for the future. Good Luck! Looking forward to seeing all the material. Thanks for sharing.
Best of luck with the shift! It makes a lot of sense for you, and we all benefit when the community helps the hobby grow.
I really enjoy your style and down to earth approach. I’m sticking around to watch and support your channel!
Will you be attending the NC Transportation Museum Train Show May 18 or 19? Would love to meet you!
I was about to ask the same question!
Good to hear that you're hoping to design and 3D print some passenger cars. I've made some simple designs for Z scale, largely because of how small Z is. I've been posting my designs to Cults 3D for sale. I know you like resin for the detail you get, but I do hope you'll also give filament printing a shot with this effort. I'm eager to see what you come up with!
I'm starting with the rolling stock for the North Carolina Railroad. They're old UP and KCS cars that have been modified. I have 2 athearn NC Railroad locos on preorder and I want to be ready.
I like what you're doing. Keep it up 👍☕️
The mini layout on a triple T-Trak module sounds great! Inspired by your recent t-trak videos (and the Model Railroader T-Trak series) I got into N-scale and am trying to make a switching layout in an 11"x30" space I have extra, using shorter rolling stock and one of the Kato pocketline steeplecabs as motive power. It'll be interesting to see what you do with the slightly larger space of a triple module
Great video and looking forward to see new ideas, as a limited space person and others would love to see a nice detail n scale switching layout with kato track ,keep up the great work
Thanks for supporting the little company's they have great products most models don't know about
Thanks Jimmy
Jimmy thank you for all you do. I got my layout up and running with DCC because of you. I am working on putting a video together to send to you for your layout series because this is not your typical layout. Look forward to what you have planned for the future
Just subscribed to Jimmy's!!
Hey Jimmy! I haven’t had any time to reply to any of your videos… because I’ve been building an 8x12 train shed in my backyard. And I’m proud to say that you are my goto when it comes to info. I discovered your channel when I came across one of your dollar store videos…
Great job.
Great video! A couple thoughts:
1. Since you have had interest from people who want to purchase your current layout, give it some more consideration. Your reasoning is sound, but if you could get enough $ out of the intact layout to fund the purchase of new supplies for the new layout, you might be able to leave some of those "phantoms" for someone else to sort out, and save yourself quite a bit of time salvaging things.
2. I think it's fantastic that you don't want to put any of your content behind a paywall! But the bonus stuff is just that -- a bonus! Also love your advertising concept!
Very cool 👍🏻
I have a large number of T Trak modules now from different manufacturers. The gap will be one and two by modules to give me separation and connectivity. Thanks for your help.
I was at the Hickory show on Friday, sorry I missed you. I would have liked to meet you.
I love Jimmy’s Trains. I put it on in the background at work to keep me occupied.
Lots going on but I have faith that you will be able to pull it off. Can't wait to see the builds of the new railroads you are building. Thanks for sharing.
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
I love all of those ideas! I thought of starting a tiny model shop where a sell homemade trains, but I didn´t know how to advertise so I never got into it, and the idea of the book on gamefied railroad operations, I would preorder right now! 😁 Happy railroading!
GREAT Ideas! Looking forward to the growth and expansion. I am developing a “Cottage Industry” business and am now planning to take advantage of the future advertising opportunity. I Truly appreciate your humble desire to keep the viewers needs prioritized and never “hide things behind the paid wall’. Thank You for inviting us into your Train room regularly.
Nice to meet you at the Hickory Train show 😀
Sounds like a good plan to me. you are not floundering at all.
Looking forward to see what you do with o gauge
Where can I go to find shows here in South Carolina.
Thank you for being the n scale model railroader who is down to earth providing a open door to learning and exploring things in this hobby.
Please still do Ardunio videos. I love those
What a great idea regarding a free tier of advertising. This will make the brick and mortar, mom, and pop shops accessible to a bigger clientele. We are losing so many smaller stores to bigger internet based ones.
Jimmy, your plan so far has been a huge success and I foresee phase 2 not being any different. As for myself being a small business owner that focuses on services for others rather than products, I would be interested in speaking with you on possibly doing something in the future. On the other hand, I will be looking out for when you release you book. Have a great day my friend! - Jason
I just wanted to say the if your going to do adds, PLEASE don’t do non modeling products.
Honestly, if you want to make money in the space, you will take anyone up who is the highest bidder. However, knowing him, he will probably stick to mainly modelling products.
If it’s Jimmy doing promos in his videos, that means the company who owns the product he is promoting have paid him to say something because they are “sponsoring” the video.
If it’s those ads that just insert into the video suddenly - that’s TH-cam and Jimmy has no control over those ads.
Rewatch starting at 6:15.
Hey, get in touch with me. I live around Hickory, NC. I would like to show you the layout sometime.
The O scale layout sounds interesting, will it be three rail or two rail, and I can afford a 99 cent patreon page nice ideal Jimmy
I hope your channel plans work out. It's hard to get time to go to shows, something always seems to interfere with the timing. I'm looking forward to seeing a showcase of interesting products.
You have to love your hobby more. Take multivitamins every morning in a pill form and not gummy bears. That’ll give you the drive you need to view your hobby in a different lens rather than just your lens. We get your views that you’re fascinated by instead of a film view. 👍
You have a great 👍 channel for model railroad great teaching, but qa why don't you start a model railroad building company charge for your services I need help with wiring if they paid you for travel and services would you do that
Hello
I know a great company that does hand painted graffiti and weathering 😝 can’t remember the name though 😂
Second and nice vid
Will you be happy to advertise companies outside America?
Will it depend on how many viewers are from that country?
First
I’m not! 😝
