Well people who can’t afford to pay their energy bill (which is a real problem in winter and results in a lot of people freezing to death) and hence can’t afford insulation could do with the government insulating their homes. That’ll make a lot of struggling families energy bills cheaper.

Britain has a huge current account deficit and has dwindled down its manufacturing and industrial production, growing its import market. China and other emerging economies produce massive hydrocarbons manufacturing the goods we consume. Yes they have domestic controls needed particularly around coal plants but it is delusional to think we are not playing a part in the problem. If the government measured emissions for consumption and not production the numbers would be much worse.

The kind of construction we have in this country means that to make most existing homes completely airtight would result in damp, rotting timbers and severe ill health for residents.
to be fair, insulating a house doesn't mean making it airtight; airtight homes have to be carefully designed to have fresh air constantly pumped throughout the home, whereas just insulating the ceiling and walls of older homes help to reduce the need for cooling or heating the home.

I just came back from work, solid 8hrs of work, and I'll be ordering a bunch of 200mm cavity insulation slabs because I am insulating my own home, because it's my responsibility to make it safe, warm and cosy for my people. I'll go up the loft and lay up myself. I DO NOT put the blame on climate emergency/government/activists to come and insulate it for me. I find that unlikely and frankly unreal.
What on earth is wrong with the police for goodness sake. Just pick them up and arrest them. Put them in jail for a for a few months. The public have had enough to put up with the last two years. If the police do not do their jobs, somebody is going to get hurt.

The Government have had "warm home" grants for years
I paid £25 each for cavity wall insulation and loft insulation 10 years
ago and paid £1500 this year to have the cavity wall insulation removed as it was damp

If it's possible to take civil action against them we should. Sue them to hell and back. No time to protest if they're desperately trying to pay off damages before they have to sell the farm to pay it off.

In Australia we have people being fined $5000 - $11000 for breaching health laws. An idiot daubed red paint all over Parliament House and set fire to a pram (don’t ask me!) sending all kinds of pollution into the air. She went to court and was fined $20. 🤷♀️
