    Happy that Eugene came out so good and I've got him sitting over by the fireplace. My two sodium silicate pots are the best yet! Those two rutile platters are awesome. I'll get there sooner next time, maybe. 😁😁

    Oh my goodness!!! That was an awesome kiln opening!!! Your work is exquisite!!! Was looking for the carved pieces you did on a previous video & I think I spotted a couple of them :0) The snake jug is supreme, as well as sooo many other pieces!!! Bet you & your crew were exhausted by the time you were finished! Many thanks Matthew, for sharing your awesome talent & time!!! Stay safe & well. Headed out to search for your Etsy shop...hope there are some nice things left, being that I saw this months after your initial posting!

      There's nothing left on Etsy but I have built my own site now and will be selling on it for upcoming online restocks. I'll be doing a restock with gas fired work on February 26th. My next wood firing will be the end of March.

    My fav is the "snake vase" without doubt. The face vases are great too.
    The 6lb skinny bottle i watched you make came out fantastically! wow [I want it} LOL
    Everything came out great Matt and thanks for sharing this special video with us.
    I know just how much work skill and time went into this single firing nd you must be very pleased with most of the results you should be anyway. :)

    I especially like the large bowls/platters with glass in the bottom. It doesn’t look like the glass has cracked or crazed. Is there a reason for that? Most times
    I see glass in the bottom it has cracked to some degree.
    Not going to make the Seagrove extravaganza this year. Hopefully your pieces will sell. 👍

    • @MatthewKellyPottery
      @MatthewKellyPottery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you see tons of cracks in the glass it’s probably because the glass was too thick in the bottom of the piece.

      @@MatthewKellyPottery Thanks I just made a large platter and squished mine and my granddaughters hand prints. I may place some blue glass in the depressions. Probably should experiment first.

    No “foodsafe” issues with the glass in the bowls?

    • @MatthewKellyPottery
      @MatthewKellyPottery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on who you ask. I inspect each piece and if there seems to be any large cracks you can feel with your fingernail I will mark them not food safe. Otherwise I’ve seen glazes that craze as much as the glass I put in the bottom.
