    Just wanna say thank you Dean. You were such a huge part of my Monday Nights and you were underrated. You deserve to be up there with the great technicians in the wrestling business such as Bret Hart, Billy Robinson, Johnny Saint and Dory Funk Jr. Thank you for everything you gave to this industry.

    Dean was one of those guys that maybe wasn't looked at as a star as far as the fans were concerned but in the locker room he was highly respected and that's the reason why he always had a job at the highest level even if he wasn't selling out the seat.

      What's funny is that it's sort of comparable to the sharpshooter, and as dean and Bret got older they look and sound more alike lol

    My first trainer back in the late 80s. Said you tell the story with your body, not your mouth. Learned to work with anybody. Just need the finish and the time. Read the crowd. Set up the move, show the move, go to next move. Slow down.

    I watched Malenko and Jericho put on a clinic match live in 1998 at the Great American Bash in Baltimore. Little did I know I was watching two legends in the making...and they were the undercard. Do yourself a favor and watch that match- it’s on the WWE Network and probably on TH-cam.

    Dean Malenko might just be the most underrated technician in pro-wrestling history. I know "underrated" is a very overused word in the pro-wrestling community but honestly, not a lot of people give this man credibility for his work over the years.

    • @ppiorkowski1502
      @ppiorkowski1502 ปีที่แล้ว

      @theamericanwararcher4872 I agree with Dynamite and Curt Hennig.... Bret I think was way overrated. The whole bullshit with his lies about the Montreal Screw Job made me lose a lot of respect for him. Plus in a reality Owen was WAY BETTER than Bret. Bret could never flip off the top rope. Hell Bret couldn't do any acrobatic nor high flying moves. And his promos were complete dog shit. He was way too uptight all the time and it showed.

    Dean is on the AEW roster as a back stage coach and as such I expect a much higher level of realism out of the AEW boys and girls! I like AEW ... there are aspects of it that are much better than the alternative but with Dean and the others lending their experience and knowledge there is absolutely no excuse for some of the horrible, obviously scripted routines some of them put on. I LOVE YOU DEAN! LONG MAY YOU REIGN!

    Who does Dean mention as being one of his top 5 all time greats? Bob Armstrong or Brad Armstrong?

  • @PiCheZvara
    @PiCheZvara 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Seems like Dean is a pretty good teacher. But the problem young wrestlers today have is that the face of the business is very different and there arent many legends in it. As in Malenko himself is somewhat a legend because he lived through Attitude era and wrestled in ECW, WCW and WWE and he can name drop guys like Liger and Dr. Death who he wrestled with.
    Who will the kids today name drop in 30 years? And that's where it gets complicated and honestly pro wrestling will never live down the boom period in the 80s and 90s which is something that is impossible seemingly to do again despite AEW and WWE trying hard.
    The kids today wanna make wrestling big again so they can become legends like Malenko and his generation. And who knows if it's happening.
