@@rovertasmania7033 I have a TD5 and yes felt similar but after having it for 15 years I am thinking what is all the fuss about as it is still simple electronics that let you know where the problem might be and spare sensors are cheap and I have never needed as yet.
Instead of compressing the spring to remove , I use an old cork screw or jack with a long threaded bit that kind of scissor lifts the car , any way I use that to push away or push down the axle and the spring falls out .
+Rover Tasmania i have replace the booster thinking it was it and it is better but i think its the vacuum pump, i have been told the vacuum pressure should be 10-12 psi and i have got a tester coming from eBay but would like someone to check on a 300tdi that works fine.
+steve hope cant help you there as i dont have the tool either. Make sure you check for vac leaks first, this indicates a hard pedal but also servo. Dont know if vac pump has any bearing.
Also, check out Aulro forum, very good place for diagnostics. Heres a thread that may interest you www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/127538-hard-brake-pedal-what-look.html
I suppose if i was using the disco in the bush flexing it up then yes i would do that. I also have the rear sway bar so that limits flex so no real need for my use.
Rover Tasmania yep good point. Also how the disco go with towing? Because my 300tdi is a slug, goin 100 on the highway, when I come up to a slight incline, drops to 80 with foot to the floor, even drop a gear .
Mine is great, tows reasonably well for a 300tdi too but I have done all the pump tweaking which I have vids on my channel on how I did this. Standard pump setup is very conservative so they have a lot more in them but got to be careful - need EGT to keep eye on temps etc.
I found that disconnecting the anti roll bar makes the job a lot easier and you then don’t need to use spring compressors
Yes you are right... would be better as you wont struggle against them. Thanks for your comment.
Great idea! Cheers!I need to replace mine on my Disco 2 V8.
You can even throw it over forever !
Hajajahah. Yes it is!
Great Disco videos! I think my next car will be a 300TDI. Considered TD5's but they seem to complicated for my liking.
+Joel Stephenson Td5's are a completely different beast, and yes very complicated. Hence my preference for the 300tdi, keeping it nice and simple :)

@@peterhanson5042 I would consider a TD5 too, actually thinking of this as an option for a second Disco ;)
Soon changing mine. Thax

Nothing safer than your own shoes :0
great video

Yes, seen that technique used to if you dont have clamps. Cheers.
Magnificent..😁pip pips and carryon
It's much easier if you detach the sway bar !
For sure ;)
So what's your verdict on kings springs?
They are as good as other brands I had. I think pick a few reputable brands and see what's on special ;)
How do you do thi son a 2003 land rover hse. My brother has one
Very different machines. I wouldnt be able to help, but if you are a DIY type then get the workshop manual as a priority.
good job thk.
Welcome :)
can you please measure your vacuum at the brake booster and tell me the rate please. i have a hard pedal.
+steve hope Hard pedal as in hard to stop or stops fine but feedback is hard?

Did u need to fit new longer brake lines? I hear some places recommend it for 2inch lifts
