@sei shin That's Leiji Matsumoto's trademark of his works, beginning in the late 60s with the manga named Sexaroids. and Anime debut in 1974 as a director of Space Battleship Yamato. and he still used this style of art even as today. even with Manga-Anime art style evolved. he did NOT choose to lose his 'identity/flavour' in favor of modernized looks.
stararnold I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon. There are too many copyright issues with the film. I worked with Fuji in the early '80s on a US theatrical release of this. Warner Bros. was interested in releasing it but the project got shot down by Neil Sedaka who told his daughter, Dara (who performs the end title song) not to sign anything with Warner. Kitaro doesn't even have the rights to the music as they belong to Pony Canyon. He is unable to perform any of it in concert now and cannot release it in any format. There haven't been any Japanese rereleases of the soundtrack although the film has been released on DVD in Japan and Italy.
@James Flax Actually they do with many of their films. The English dub of My Youth in Arcadia on the recent DVD release from Diskotek is an example. The problems, as with Queen Millennia, is in finding some company to spend money on distribution rights (and other issues) and copyright issues.
Nah! it's a generic freight ship, modern large ships are all have bulbous bow and underside painted reds. And there's scientific reasons to play with sea wave forms, to permit faster waterway travels. Same goes with large warships like any Dreadnough styles. Yamato is a prime example of such designs (and swollen hull to support massive recoil of its massive mainguns).

松本零士の作品は、銀河鉄道９９９と言い、予言の宇宙戦艦ヤマト3と言い、物語として全然趣旨が違っていたりするが、色々とかなりの権力が集中していたようにも思える。１０００年女王も含め同じ漫画家が描いた作品とはとても思えない。
