Before Google Maps you used to have to be out on the water every day to get this intel or know someone who was, but now you can get it all for free right from your home.
Planning out your trips well is one of the best (and easiest) things you can do to step up your fishing game and this video will help show you how to do that.

9:50 yeah, you do know (or may know) when the picture was taken.. that one was taken march 2017.. bottom right, almost bottom center.. also 10:20 top left, it clearly says "street view mar 2017" it even says who has taken it, this time, Alexander Kuhn.. at Sebastian Inlet State Park. hard to miss.

How do I get this for NEW YORK, LONG ISLAND ANGLERS? TO FIND WHERE THE BEST PLACE TO FISH
Just wanted to add, maybe covered but I saw some comments about not having it on the phone app. It's there but different than the computer app.
Put map in satellite view, tap a point on a road and you'll see a rectangle on the screen. Tap it. That's your street view.
Luke is exceptional in tech fishing aids. SOLO LUKE - would be extraordinary instructor - no periferal distractions
Oh my goodness. I never knew I could do this. I usually would use google earth but this is better.

How often are the maps updated and how often do the structures like sandbars, cuts and troughs change. I fish Matagorda TX and it seems the storms shift things frequently.
Thanks for sharing this, however in google earth, I can’t seem to get those water views on my iPad, strictly street view, can’t drag the little man ? Am I doing something wrong ? Thanks

We don't have that yet in the Panhandle (Destin to Pensacola) but there are some citizen submitted photos on some of the islands. Some people took pictures of themselves and their families on the beach and submitted them so you can see their photos. So, if you take some pictures of your time on the beach, kayak, boat, submit them and others can see it. I am excited to see maps have more of these water views.
Apparently I should have finished the video before submitting my comment. Within two minutes of me putting this comment on the guys talk about and show a picture of someone taking a photo of their kid. LOL!

The 3d satellite map on apples proprietary map service shows elevation extremely well, almost perfectly, and shows the image in much greater clarity. It is a game changer I hope you see this comment.

The stairs in the back of the boat are for getting on and off shore when backed into a (big) slip. I figure they might be using it there to get on to a big center console with high freeboard.
Also for when anchoring on an island / shore

Yeah, it does say the photo capture date at the bottom, middle of the screen on Maps.
No fishing magazine ever exposed the admirals hole before. Crappy holes have to be navigated by line of sight triangulation between houses and fence lines and big old barns and old trees and long gone other landmarks when you are on the lake trying to add to the structure of your old crappy hole. Boat radar is ok for that but really making a book about it before I get to the lake with my boat might be better than going on that water blind fishing?

street view its cool and all but if you see the bottom right side of the pictures it shows when they were taken.. in case of this, jun 2014, a lot may have changed in the last 6 years =/
Most maps are updated every six months to two years according to the info I found but obviously not everything is updated that often.
Is this app being used on a computer or a mobile device? I can’t find street view on the mobile app.
ReeseGG I cant find it either on mobile. .. but it’s the same on google earth
On your mobile app you just put it in satellite view the tap your finger on a spot on the map. Then you'll see a small rectangle picture somewhere on the screen. Tap that and you're in street view. The phone app doesn't have the little person that you can drag to a point on the map because most computer screens aren't touch screen.

The thing sticking out of the yacht is a Paserail (msp?) - it gets close to the dock and you walk off the paserail to the dock and vice versa. It is very European.....notice the flag on the yacht.... That is the best I have ever seen. VERY expensive
is there a way to click and get the GPS coordinates for what you are looking at?
Yes, you just need to click on the map at any point and it'll give you the coordinates for that location.
