@@christof123 Except for him stopping an almost certain touchdown AND getting the ball back for his team in the process. But for those two things, you're right, nothing to celebrate... He should have just stopped and walked to the sideline instead... Game over.
So uh... preventing a defensive touchdown isn't reason to be pleased? Big mistake, horrible situation for BYU either way, but 1st and 10 with an unchanged score is 100% a good outcome considering the circumstances.
I LOL everytime I saw this...he blocked, got knocked down, kept focus on the play, then said not today satan...and sprints after him..climbs his back...👊 BYU ball 1st and 10..😂😂😂
Players who live by and model hustling on the field are the ones who can save their teams from utter failure. How inspiring is that display by Allgeir?! And the humility to just jog back to his sideline as a man knowing he's just doing his job? Priceless.
This is my favourite play of the year so far. Can’t wait till y’all come to the big 12. But also a little scared. Wonderful game tonight. See you at the Jones in Lubbock soon 😬
Ya NB,I think BYU will be a part of some great games in the Big 12 come 2023 and onward. Texas Tech can score, and so can Oklahoma State. Although they have played a few good games over the years against Kansas State. And TCU always gives them issues,so I think it will be an adjustment for a few years, but I also think that BYU may also get that extra 2 of 3 recruits that they may not have gotten while in the Mountain West,or as an independent. Here is to another wild week of college football, and they cannot look past South Florida.
I was there live and it was legit the most exciting thing I've ever seen, we went from excited as we marched down the field, terrified as the interception happened and they were running it down, then absolute ecstatic celebration was we watched him straight punch that ball out of the dude hands. It didn't matter we lost 60 yards it was the best play ever
The all around talent and effort on this play is remarkable. First you have to have the speed to run the opponent down. Then you have to have the coordination to grab him from behind with one arm, while still running full speed, and bring the other arm up into position. Finally, you have to have the power and the accuracy to deliver the blow effectively. And you have to do all of this in one second or less. Just amazing.
Usually when people protect against a defender punching at the ball, they anticipate it from underneath, not over the top. That was a great move, and even better hustle!
Was there live and went from in utter disbelief as to why Jaren Hall threw it to watching a WWE off the ropes punch to save a pick six. Allgeier you're my hero. Go Cougs
The second impressive thing to me watching that highlight was Hall getting his butt in gear and being in position to collect the fumble. Adrenaline makes you fast!
IDK, he turned off the jets about 10-15 yards prior, likely thinking the player was going to score, and then fortuitously was in position to collect the fumble.
As a BYU fan, it’s been great to see the RB position shine the last few years with Jamal Williams and others. I even got to watch Squally Canada play in high school (the same high school that produced Vita Vea), and I remember thinking then that he was gonna be such a beast wherever he ended up playing. But now, watching Tyler Allgeier, he’s the icing on the cake. Man is a straight BEAST, I can’t wait to watch him produce big numbers this year.
Absolutely the play of the game. After the game,Jaren Hall basically said,he was running as fast as I was trying to catch the other guy". This play likely helped preserve the win for BYU I think. But tough break on losing Keenan Pili for the rest of the year to injury. He was leading the team in tackles. Now it is next man up. This play though has to be one of the top plays of this past week,I think.
That was extremely impressive. Love the way he didn’t need to celebrate after that. Just get back to the sideline, let’s keep playing! Need more of that in today’s game
Yep. He was a starting LB for BYU in 2019 and switched over to RB at the end of the season because BYU's RB room was depleted by injuries. Did so well they kept him there.
That play was mind blowing. In slow mo he traveled like five yards in the air from the time he jumped to when he crushed that poor ASU linebacker’s football soul into beautiful oblivion.
I just love how he catapults himself into the air with the leverage of the interceptor and then just WWE face-fists the ball right out of the cradle. Incredible pursuit and relentless effort by Tyler.
You should be kidding Bruh the guys a beast. He put up 3 tds and 200 plus yards against utah state. He’s fast and strong the play only became non textbook when Karen hall made a bad desicion
I’m not a BYU fan….my wife is because she graduated from there… Tyler is pro ready….he may end up being converted to fullback or something because of his size and he doesn’t quite have consistent burner speed, but he is a very intelligent player and almost always never loses yardage…like a bigger version of Curtis Martin…he may be super successful in a system like the 49ers, Steelers, or Titans… But he can flat out play on the next level…of that, I am sure…
Truly epic. Not only a rundown, but the presence of mind and physical effort to knock the ball loose with a roundhouse that would do George Foreman proud.
A kid did this against us in high school and when it came time for film time and to rewatch the game on monday, our football coach was foaming at the mouth at the dedication and commitment of the player on the opposing team and basically told us we were all little sisters of the poor's rejects and that "#56" was going places in life . The way he just winds up after hunting the dude down just looks so powerful. Straight up beast.

What is equally impressive is how he just walks casually to the sideline without any gloating. True warrior mantra right there
He downplayed it during his postgame interview as well. Warrior mentality.
