I think you paid the right amount for groceries ( vegetables and fruits ). Blueberries alone are a bit expensive here , i always buy 2 packs ( ~100g each ) for 18 to 20 dhs , thats alone 36 dhs. + I always thought that temara is just a small city with not much beautiful streets and places to visit like other cities in morocco, but you have changed my view on that with your vlogs and im pretty impressed , thank you again and welcome to 🇲🇦 .
Everything you paid was the right price, sometimes it depends on the place where you buy things from. Even what you bought from the streets was okay. Thanks for sharing your diaries
This is it Erin, in Morocco everything is fresh, weather good ! Unfortunately, I live in a country whereby the weather does not help us produce enough goods so everything more or less is from importation ( no freshness ). I wait until May, then i plant few things. Summer us 2 months !
hi Erin i saw your story about ur choice to live among us we are a very simple people most of us do not take life seriously we love whoever loves us and consider him one of us welcome to ur home Erin 🙂
It's common in Morocco to find districts specific to a certain niche. So there will be a neighborhood that's known for home appliances, another known for clothes, one for everything related to your car, etc... It's good because you can go to one place and find lots of options, but it's also bad because if you don't go to that one place you'll either have to settle for something worse than what you actually want or you'll pay extra. That's why there where multiple shops for kitchen related items. Where I live it's all about stainless steel
Wonderful videos, I just saw some today & I like what I seen.I’m an Arab who lives in Canada, never been to Morocco, but I’ve met a lot of people who speak highly of the country and it’s people ….ENJOY!.
You need to know that Morocco along with Iran, Ottoman Empire and the Mogul Empire of India were the only independent Nation Stated in the Muslim World from late 15th. Century to early 20th. Century ( Mogul until 1854). This is the reason that Morocco, Iran and Turkey have such a amazing culture and national pride.
I can see that you're enjoying yourself and in life you don't always need to spend loads to have a nice time and why shouldn't you? Great stuff, I've travelled to lots of places in Morocco, my favourite is Agadir I have to say and would like to retire there inshallah!!
When you want to buy vegetables and fruits, it is better to go to popular souks (markets) because they are cheap. When you buy, you have to ask about the price per kilogram of everything, and then buy at least 250 gram of each. If you buy one unit of a kind of veg the merchant often values it at the same cost of 250 grams , especially in small shops.
Hi Erin, the place you asked first at the time 4:19 as it says from the plaque at the front door is a Training Center for Social Services of the Royal Armed Forces.

hey there. i shop sometimes in that neighborhood, and the prices are usually decent. these days vegetables took a price hike. usually you should ask price of everything, if not written as they should as that's the law. i always ask the price of everything before i purchase. probably the blueberries, also the cherry tomates are usually 2 and up to 3 times the price of regular tomatoes. usually all vegetables are cheap, except stuff like avocadoes when off season and are imported, local ones are affordable.
Convenience stores are obviously more expensive than the souk. Supermarkets like Marjane can be competitive with the souk at times and should carry pork products if you wish. Thanks for noting the lack of facilities and processes to help people with a physical handicap. It is the mindset of the people that needs to change, in order to push for some legislation that we take for granted here in the US. Watching these videos makes me think that I should immigrate back to the homeland 😅. Note: the stray animals are there because we don't control the population, and the animals are generally cared for by the neighborhood overall. Cheers from Texas.
