Great video and thank you for the sharing. Comparing the original sailcloth strap with the new Hydroflex, is there any difference in the quality of the standard buckle system?
Thanks for watching! I don't perceive a difference in quality, however, I much prefer the buckle on the Hydroflex (which appears to also be updated on the original sailcloth straps, as mine are older). The newer buckle is longer but it's also thinner (top view) and more curved (profile view). I wasn't crazy about the chunkiness of the original buckle and it's flatter than preferred. Cheers

I'm curious about how the material feels, specifically whether it feels like genuine sailcloth or like the plastic embossing that it appears to be?
The Hirsch Arne strap (the new one at least) appears to be much more like genuine sailcloth
To me, the exterior feels very similar, if not the same, as their sailcloth straps. The interior is soft and pliable. Nothing about them feels cheap IMO. That all said, I unfortunately haven't handled the Hirsch straps to compare.
I recently saw a picture, how good the grey strap would look on my Seiko SPB143. I nearly pulled the trigger but the price made me shy away...😅
Haha! I came really close to grabbing the grey but habits prevailed and black/blue won. I know what you mean, it's a big ticket strap grab, whether the quality is there or not.
All Artem straps are synthetic. Don’t think they ever made any of their straps with real sailcloth material.
From their FAQ, I believe you're right. It looks like they use sailcloth loosely, like many others. Thanks for the comment. Cheers
