I think having the minute hand as the seconds hand would’ve been more interesting
I don't think the movement allows for that configuration. Not sure offhand if any others do, as this is a pretty typical regulator configuration from what I've seen. Cheers
Very interesting dial. Looks water damaged from somw angles tho..prob only on camera.
I didn't see any signs of damage on these prototypes. The dials have varied texture across the materials but they're very well executed to my eye. Cheers
@JonathanTReviews I didn't word it properly. I knew rhey weren't damaged in any way but just saying from some angles on video that smaller section of the dial could look that way...did for me anyway. I'm sure it's an impressive dial, in hand
Nice watch. Have to do a little work on your diction to slow down. Comes across as very rapid fire speech.
Thanks for watching. I can understand it being faster than some prefer. Cheers
Terrific review, JT. I like Feynman and own three. This one is a pass. One reason is that my blue Maen Manhatten 37 beats it in a number of categories. Not the least of which is the lower cost of the Maen (~$450 difference!). Also, the Feynman is a tad large for my tastes as is that Trafford, a nice design, but too much on my wrist.
Thanks buddy! That Maen is one of the top options for this style IMO too. While I haven't yet handled one, they're great looking watches. Agreed on sizing, a bit smaller with both of the ones you mentioned would be my preference as well, especially with the Trafford. Cheers
Do the lume battle brooooo
I played around with it a while back but couldn't get a presentation format I thought was worth sharing. I may revisit at some point. Cheers
You've definitely changed my perspective on this watch. When it was first announced I thought it was not terribly convincing and the bracelet arguably a little odd. Feynman before I generally felt was just going a bit over the top with too many distinct details applied in the same designs. Here all of that is actually pared back significantly and considering it more closely now, what remains really does work and works very well in the combination presented. I was worried about the bracelet, both its look and articulation, but I have to conclude it still drapes/fits well on your wrist, so it may be a non-issue and I welcome the idiosyncratic styling of it on this more traditionally laid out watch. This also applies to the subseconds register. Here it feels like a more welcome detail that gets space to shine within the spacious traditional layout. I like the engraved numerals in the same way that I welcomed them on the Longines Master. This is, ultimately, a more modern feeling watch design. It also works very well with the vertical brushing, which offers a very welcome colour shifting effect, while the Midnight blue base colour is nothing if not profoundly handsome. I also think the style of the hands is well-conceived and altogether perhaps the hands are the most playful element of the watch. The comparisons also go in favour, as I appreciate the dressy demeanour and the smaller presence vs the Trafford and DRZ02r. That said, I think it could have been even smaller still, perhaps to the point that the bracelet could possibly drop a mm, too. Again, though, the taper is very welcome on this watch, as is the compactness of the hidden lugs. I think this now goes on my list to watch. The steep pricing is in line with other 7001 equipped watches, I just don't understand why this workhorse movement requires sales prices to rise significantly above the 1000 point. That doesn't seem warranted to me. The cleanliness of the Feynman now makes it my preferred option vis-a-vis its case shape peers Maen Manhattan and Benjamin James Scarifour.
Awesome, I'm very glad I could help add dimension to it 🥂 Thanks, as always, for sharing your insightful perspective. Well highlighted. I wouldn't have minded it being a touch smaller either, though I think they probably hit the sweet spot for wrist size/preference versatility.
I wanted to buy this today, and the wife said NO. She loves the Northern Lights. I'm like, babe...it's the Northern Lights in the dial!!!......Didn't work 😢
It was worth a shot 🤗
I’ve only recently received my VI and I find it a very good watch. It’s well styled and the design appeals greatly to me. So far I’m much happier with it than the Santos I’ve had for over a decade.
Wow, that's high praise and awesome to read! They consistently do a nice job and this may be their nicest design yet. Out of curiosity, is your crown insanely smooth too on setting and winding? This one almost feels like a quartz it's so smooth. Cheers
My crossbar lock was super sticky and gummy, I tried cleaning it repeatedly with a que tip and some 96% ethanol, but it would always get gummy again after a day or two. After cleaning it out, I would usually add some camelia oil to make the action smoother. I didn't realize the oil is what was causing the gumminess, after removing it and putting graphite like you suggested, the action is buttery smooth. Thank you!
Awesome! Yeah, it's definitely counterintuitive since the oil helps most other areas run smoother. Very happy to have helped 🥂
It's really nice, I love it. I've never heard of them, but after checking their website, I'm pretty impressed!
They're not the most well known brand, and have a unique style that can be polarizing, but they put out excellent watches. Cheers
@JonathanTReviews yeah I'm definitely going to keep my eye on them for sure
Beautiful. I would love them to do a no date version too.
It is great having the choice of function or clean(er) aesthetic. Cheers
Great review but the watch tough... Is a mess. I'm sorry: Breguet numerals, polished bezel and brushing? Odd combo. Maen does it better.
Thank you! Maen is putting out some stellar looking watches. They're high on my list for this style too. Cheers
Good looking dress piece.
Agreed, they did a nice job with original elements yet a traditional look. Cheers
Nice Jonathan, but a silly price and possibly on my ultra thin wrist that strap will be problematic. Shame as it's got a nice chunky style to it, thankfully no date and a quality movement.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yeah, if your wrist is much smaller or less flat than mine, overhang may be an issue with the end links. It is a nice looking package though. Cheers
They need to address the visibility of those hands.
It's definitely a thing, at least on this colorway, but I think footage exaggerates the issue a bit. Trying to control light also usually results in a darker surface being reflected on the polish. In normal usage, a minor movement of the wrist typically brings out the pop. Cheers
that is a really nice bracelet. Do you they sell just that ?
Not to my knowledge, but you could contact them to double check. The end link is made for this watch though, and it's 24mm, so it might not work well for most watches.
The hands need to be white as they tend to blend in with the dual in certain lighting conditions. Otherwise, it is a nice watch.
You're right, that would definitely help with legibility. I like the look of the polished hands, and found it functionally solid in normal usage, but they can disappear with dark reflections on this version. Cheers
Too expensive for what it is. I would pay $400 tops. The ETA Perseux has been around since 1971, and although a very good movement, it is mechanical and not an innovation by any stretch. I see this from a lot of Asian micro brands, trying to jump the ladder, instead of releasing it at a more affordable price. Bad business decisions based on greed never pan out. With that said I was said to see the price, I do like the watch a lot; but there are many more watches at that price range I rather buy. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The $1k+ price point does typically limit the audience. Despite the 7001 being around for quite a while, it's still pricey from what I've seen (especially in the Top Grade form). I believe it's also harder to obtain in recent years after ETA started limiting access. From what I've seen, 7001 based watches are typically at least $700, with many being pricier than this one. Cheers
Is a very nice watch. But the price is off. And I see this a lot coming from Asian micro brands; they try to jump the ladder upwards too fast. If this watch would have been priced at…say $400 (what I would be willing to pay for it) I believe it would sell out. With that they would have made some noise and created some expectation for the brand. Just think Christopher Ward, for lack of a better example, it took them some ten years to solidify their brand and they still have below $1k models. You forgot to mention that the movement although Swiss and a good movement is an old model that has been around since 1971, so they probably got the movements for a really good deal and instead of trying to share the savings with the customer they are choosing to capitalize on it. Just my two cents.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The $1k+ price point does typically limit the audience. MING also uses the 7001 and their watches are triple the price of this Feynman and they’ve been around about the same length of time. I understand the price might be a sticking point but the watch really is of great quality and super style. It’s my third from the brand and is a good step up in refinement in my view.
Great to have owner feedback. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Cheers
That's funny...The ETA 7001 (Peseux designed it but was later acquired by ETA) is difficult to get ever since ETA started limiting access as JT mentioned. And just because the movement design is old, it doesn't mean brands can get, "a really good deal". 🤦 Swiss mechanical movements are always going to be pricey (especially from ETA & Sellita) compared to Japanese movements (Seiko & Miyota). While the price is not for everyone, it's inline with what other brands charge with that movement (albeit on the higher side). So to say if it was $400, it'd sell out, is comical.

Casio MRW200 Resin and Plastic is this method possible? Its super tight snd its friction based bazel. What can you suggest to make it smooth as before ?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with that bezel to confirm its retention method. Given the material, I'd worry about cracking it. You may want to try working the bezel under water to see if it cleans things up.
@JonathanTReviews good idea never thought of that
Best review I've seen of this watch. Certainly has potential. Case is too thick and bezel too wide. Dial and date too small. Looking forward to what they have to offer in the future
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Cheers 🥂
Thank you algorithm. Knowledgeable presenter, solid audio and excellent editing. Pleased as punch. I will be pulling the trigger, finally. Thank you
Thanks so much for the kind words and support 🥂 I hope you enjoy it!
This looks like something from a 1950s sci-fi movie, I kind of like it. Do you ever wear it?
Very much so! It feels like something from the set of Dick Tracy. I ended up passing it on to another enthusiast due to the size. It was larger than I prefer.
I almost bought one (overpriced on ebay by now), but i just noticed that indice at 6. It should be wider like the ones at 3 9 and 12. Now it's not different in width from all the in between indices. Details like that matter to me. (On the Swordfish they did it properly.)
You may be able to find one in their Facebook group, if you're a member. With the 6 o'clock date window and small accent index, I personally prefer the incorporation they chose. It matches the date window width. IMO, they would have needed a trapezoidal date window, like the Mako, for a wider marker to look right. Cheers
@@JonathanTReviewsjust looks off to me. I may go for one..yes thanks i saw on facebook they go for more appropriate prices.
I have the Turtle version. I love watching the light play on that Dark Manta dial...
Definitely! It's a beautiful effect.
Why avoid oil?
Counterintuitively, it can gum things up and make the lock stick worse. There are places that should be oiled but not the lock face.
@ thank you!
In my view this is a great addition to the line up, but definitely a pity about the price. I did really contemplate the original campaign long nad hard, but once landed with all taxes and with a few gripes about small details, such as the less optimal execution on the branding and the off look of the colour match of the seconds hand, while still lacking real motivation to go into moon phases, I decided against it. At this price, I wouldn't even consider taking a punt anymore. That said, I think it's probably no my favourite version. Aventurine glass seems quite spectacular, but the literal reference to a starry sky ane the constant glint on wrist I'm just not sure about. I really appreciated the thinness and additional detailing in Loresum's design vs CW. But now, stripped back in all senses with the Onix, I feel the remaining details shine even more. And where the black aventurine glass was feeling a little cold, here the gold on black solves that. I also think it looks better in stainless and it may be very enjoyable on that quality looking bracelet, as arguably I'm less convinced by the informal strap choice here. Choice has increased in moon phases and for me the top picks are from Farer (Burbidge) and this Loresum LE shares that abstracted take on the night sky, and the Raymond Weil 35mm gold plated moon phase, which also has the welcome warmth of gold and thinness, while modernising a very classic feel with a touch of playfulness. For all three, price is a major deterrent for a complication that may end up bugging me more than pleasing me in practice... but I really enjoy the look of it generally speaking.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Benjamin. Understandable, it becomes increasingly tough to pull the trigger north of $1k unless the watch really speaks to you. I'm with you on remaining partial to this Loresum design over the CW and really appreciate the way they've translated it to each material variant. Cheers
Already ordered it! Love the onyx and the complication! Great video, thank you for sharing!
Awesome! You're going to love it! Thanks for the support 🥂
18kt gold….. PLATED 🙄
Yep, which is still very uncommon anywhere near the price point, with a moonphase no less. At the current price of gold, were it solid, it would likely be around the purchase price just in gold.
looks like a discount CW, nice!
Definitely a similar design. In the full review, I highlight some of the differences. This one was designed and shared in Facebook groups well before the CW was released and seems to have been a coincidence. Cheers
Original design was better looking IMO
I love the starry backdrop and hyper-realistic moon too. I think both look excellent and have a place, but that one screams moonphase/snapshot of space.
Is this another Chinese watch? I’ve never heard of loresum
They're a microbrand based out of the UK. They've produced several prior models you can find on their site. However, like many microbrands (and major brands for that matter), I believe at least some of the components are manufactured in China.
@@JonathanTReviews yeah. Their dial face is identical to AGELOCER and other Chinese brand moonphase watches. They are sold for around $200-$300.
@PhaeronServinus Similar look with the Agelocer (if we're looking at the same one), though Arnold & Son, Christopher Ward, etc. are too. Very different watches in components and I expect finishing. Unfortunately, it's increasingly common for even microbrands to have their designs copied by (often) Chinese factories. Not mentioning these specific brands, but I know of at least one Chinese brand that did just that 🫤
@@JonathanTReviews sadly you’re right. Although most of these Chinese knockoffs don’t even do a true 29.5 day moon phase. They have a 31 day dial with a moon on it.
@PhaeronServinus For sure. Beyond the savings in design costs (and/or R&D, with larger brands and in-house movements/modules), they generally cut a lot of corners. This Loresum is using a custom Behrens module mated with a Miyota 9015 or Sellita SW200 (in the case of this LE and an option on the others). For what it's worth, I can also attest that the owner, Jason, is a great guy and has been working his butt off to bring his designs/brand to life.
My Mrs saw the review & immediately asked me if I was going to get one!!?? Not wishing to sound like I was pretty resolved on adding it to my collection, I said that I wasn't sure and didn't think I should add another divers' watch to my collection......she shot back with "great so you can order it for me then!!??". 😂 I have to say, it was one of the happiest days of this year.....not only has she well & truly been bitten by the watch collecting bug, but she's buying the watch which means that I don't have to sacrifice one of the watch from my collection!!! I agreed on a blood in - blood out pact after my watch collection grew to over 20 watches!! So, thanks to your video, as well as a few other youtuber vids, my Mrs is buying the watch & I got to wear, enjoy & appreciate an absolutely stunning looking timepiece!!
That's an awesome story! Thanks for sharing 😊 I'm confident you'll both love this beautiful dial. So many beautiful shades of purple across lighting/angles. I hope you both enjoy it! Cheers
really cool reminds me of leviathan if uve seen that
I hadn't but coincidentally had someone else message me asking about that comparison too. Glad you like it!
I get what they're trying to do achieve with that design and everything is nicely done. But for me, there's simply too much negative space here, which becomes more apparent on the black version.
Fair enough. Having many bold watches, I've enjoyed the (somewhat) simplicity of the design. I think it works well with both the dress and space style. I understand what you mean though, as I have that feeling about the CW design. It's both larger and has less accent touches (chapter ring, framing, etc.). Cheers
Only 30 and all sold out - seems Moot in some ways
I figured it would go quickly, but wasn't expecting that quickly. Didn't realize there was going to be so few 🫤 Hopefully they do another batch
1100?? or 11,000???
The launch price will be £849 or approximately $1,100.
Is it just me who sees this as a poor ochs & junior ?
I can see some of the vibes, now that you mention it.

This dial design is both good and a great fit for the design philosophy of the hexmariner. Looking forward to securing one and seeing it in person
I agree, really attractive coloration to my eye and the pattern perfectly ties into the theme. Cheers
The Mother of pearl 'Purple Hexes' looks like a toy. The case is too clunky. Their logo looks like a butthole on the crown. Not feeling this. There is a chubby, effeminate scuba diver out there who would love this watch.
To each their own. I expect it will be very popular and sell out quickly. There's definitely a market for it.
@@JonathanTReviews A store named ShopSimon has the Zodiac Olympos Automatic for $300. That's swiss made, high beat in-house movement, sapphire, brand new. My contention is $300+ for a no name Chinese watch is too much. Do you ever feel like your being ripped off?
@wastedaga1n On the flipside, the same watch would likely cost $600+ (likely more) from Seiko. Value is always subjective.
@@JonathanTReviews If Seiko came out with a $600+ dollar version of this 'caliber 4R35' watch no one would care. You can get a Samurai for $300 with better stats and it says, 'Seiko' on the dial.
It’s a good thing you made your feelings known to the reviewer instead of the people that made the actual watch. Really making sure the feedback gets to the right place. Well done. Also, maybe your imaginary friend will find this video and therefore the watch of their dreams. My god, you must be a blast at parties. I hope you find the hug you so clearly need. 🙄
It's big, it's small. It's heavy, it's light. Great commercial.
These case shapes are tough to pin down and largely come down to preferences. They wear larger than the specs, which takes many by surprise.
thank you for the lovely review!
My pleasure, it's a gorgeous dial! Cheers
I really hope they release 42mm version of it.
That extra surface area would be gorgeous! Cheers
I agree. I have a 42 and a 39, and the 39 looks slightly chunky as it’s less wide. The 42 appears sleeker and has a comfortable L2L. Also, the clasp is a huge improvement. The original 42 from 2 years ago only had 3 holes of microadjust which wasn’t good at all. 5 holes is much better, but toolless is so convenient. Also their rubber straps are the best I’ve worn. I wear several watches on Revelot straps as they are better than the ones that come with the watch.
@@baldeagle6128 thanks for the feedback. Fingers crossed 42 is coming next
@@venrocking we’ll be the first two in line!
Looks stunning indeed! I had the textured dial, but did not like the way it looked in some lighting angles. Won't be an issue with this dial. Would buy one or two at 42mm
Understandable. The textured ones are cool but pretty bold. I expect this one will be hugely popular and the 42 would give even more real estate to showcase its beauty. Cheers
Wow this is really good looking piece
I think so too! Cheers
Could have done without the fume on the dial. Let the Mosaic MOP shine ✨
I worried about the same but was pleasantly surprised that it's very subtle in usage. So much so that I wouldn't have even noticed the effect (though it's there) had it not been specified. Cheers
