- "Four seemingly random strangers all answer an ad to move into an apartment in downtown. It didn't take more than a few months before they all realize they've been hiding a secret from one another... they each have a special ability. Now they're just trying to live their lives day by day as they figure their powers, and each other, out."
This is an Animatic for the Prolog from the Story "A Lesson in Practiality" written by the lovely ResidentAnchor! This story is awesome ( and has way more chapters than what you hear in this video, this is just the Prolog after all) and it has a sequel comming out! Yay I am excited for it.
So I made this Animatic. My first one actually. I hope you liked it! I know it still has a lot of flaws but I`m learning.
I hope my voice was not to cringy and my english not to bad (not...not my first language, you know...)

Also, can I say how much I love the fact that their powers reflect on what part of Thomas they are supposed to be! Although I was suspecting the whole time that Virgil's power would involve some kind of barrier, and while typing I thought of him having an overclocked sense of everything since anxiety is just our natural flight or fight response that is maladapted to the modern day of mostly social threats

Confession time: I have come back to this video at least fifteen times in the three days that I have known of its existence. This animatic is ruining my LIFE. I do camp counseling during the day, and I have been able to think of nothing but "I can't wait to get back home so I can keep reading A Lesson In Practicality." My first and last thoughts every day are of things that I could have done to make my voice-acting audition stand out more. I can't think of anything but how incredible your animatic is. I can't decide whether I should hate or love the fact that I've found something so inspiring, I truly can't get it out of my head!!

For a little critique/some compliments: I'm learning German and one of my teachers has a similar accent to yours. Learning a second language is really hard :( . I really enjoyed the whole thing even if there wasn't a great deal of animation; I think it still works really well, not that I'm an expert in any way, and the music was perfect. The story was creative and convincing and I'm excited to see what happens next and if it somehow ties into Thomas Sanders' life- although I doubt that that will happen. I discovered TS recently and O.M.G.! His Sanders Sides are perfect and somehow so accurate- it's like therapy and they're so helpful. Love the art style, don't overwork yourself ;)

IT'S AMAZING) project. I may not be an animator myself, but let me just say that you don't have to worry so much about the characters not moving enough. The poses that you did get (THE LITTLE CLAPPING PATTON!!!) were amazing and made the animatic really entertaining to watch. And one last thing, your voice is amazing for telling the story! It was honestly just really nice to hear, and I love the inflection you used when you were reading the character's lines. All together, you did amazingly and hope that you have a wonderful day!

I've never seen an animatic of a fanfic before, this was awesome! There are so many awesome looking fanfics I've come across and saved to read for later, but I've never gotten round to reading them cause I'm not a huge reader anymore, but because this was an animatic and it was in the form of a video, this actually got me to enjoy a fanfic for once. And you're right, it's awesome! I really ought to read the rest of it sometime.
In terms of the video itself, that was also awesome! You're really good at the art, and honestly although there could have been more frames, I don't think it was that bad. You've got to bear in mind that animatics often have lots of stills like that, and so long as it gets the story across well (which it did), it's fine. Also, you read the story really well, aside from the few mistakes due to you not being a native English speaker, that you mentioned you're already aware of. Honestly, this whole thing was really enjoyable, the story, the art, the way expressed the characters/scenes, and your reading of the story. I loved it, and I'd love to see more. Thanks for making this. ^-^

I love superheroes and superpower aus and when I read this fanfic I was surprised on how much more it was like a slice of life fanfic! I sometimes can't fully imagine the scene or accidentally skip a line or two so seeing it in animatic form was amazing! I'm usually slightly critically of animatics but this was truly something wonderful and wouldn't be surprised if I rewatched once or twice more. The amount of work you would have had to put into this video alone is mind blowing! Which is something that really needs to be appreciated.
