First of all, great video. I agree there is a lack of video material of such wonderful pieces. As a fellow King Seiko fan, and of the KS56 in particular, I want to add a couple of things to the list when hunting for one.
    1. It comes in the 5621 (no date) 5625 (date) and 5626 (day date) versions, where the last two has a weakness in the quickset rocker (the only plastic part!), and is often times broken. Vintage Time Australia has recently started producing a replacement in metal.
    2. The original crystal is insanely hard to find. It is bonded to a metal ring, and even though some people have had success in separating the two in hot ultrasonic baths and then glueing the ring back together with a generic crystal, it should be taken in to account.
    3. The original metal bracelet is hard to find, luckily it looks just as good on leather, and some were even sold on a black croco strap back in the day.
    4. The early mono bloc models have a external regulator screw, which allows for fine tuning without disassembly.
    5. It's run by the 562x, 25 jewels, 28,800 b.p.h (at the time considered high-beat) unadjusted movement, with a mean daily rate of -6 to +9 secs/day.
On a final note, my favorite design is the later models, with thinner lugs and indices. Just looks more refined and really embodies the Grammar of Design. I was fortunate enough to find a Oct -71 5621-7020 (no date) with gold medallion intact. This reference was only produced for one year, before it was replaced with the SS caseback.
    /H

I've got a 5626-7120 with a slate grey dial, 1972, in lovely condition. Along with my vintage Lordmatic, absolutely my favourite every day wear. Brilliant watches, Seiko at the top of their game.

The design just works, simple and clean.

I just bought this model in the 5626-7111-Version (Stainlesss Steel caseback without the gold-medal). I got a great deal and paid just 400 dollars for a freshly serviced model in great condition. It runs at +1sec a day and i really have to say that this might be the best finished watch in my collection. I am a huge fan of vintage timepieces.

Really beautiful watches. King Seiko are really under appreciated as compared to Grand Seiko. Really regretted not getting one when they are under a thousand dollars. Thank you for showing us so many beautiful King Seiko watches. Keep up the good work !!! Hope to see more of such content on King Seiko watches.

I have two KS 5626-7000 1969 with a slightly damaged gold medallion and a 1972 KS 5626-7110 with a non medallion case back. Somehow my 1972 one stopped working, need to send it to check what went wrong

Hello! I recently purchased my first KS. I was wondering if you could tell me where I could find parts for these. Mine is in good condition but has the black dial, I might want the white one. Also there's a faceted crystal on mine. The original is included but they said it's in pretty bad shape so I would like to find a replacement crystal for this and maybe also the clear display back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    A very very beautiful Watch.
I has a king Seiko 56, but sold it and got a 4502 and managed to get a clear caseback for it to preserve the gold Medalion and enjoy the beautiful movement.

Saw your video on the see-thru caseback......good video! I own however, a KS 5625-7000 from1969 in excellent condition for a price well under $500. It cannot be opened from the back, but I truly enjoy wearing a watch whose true value lies under the radar, yet is on a par with Rolex and Omega. The idea of putting a see-thru caseback on it(were it possible) is intriguing, but not something I would do to a vintage timepiece, even if space were given on the metal to display all the info of that particular model.
In thinking further, the only thing I could see happening for caseback models like mine is to reproduce the original caseback, but with the see-thru glass and all the info pertinent to the model(especially the serial # and district alphabetical location) for provenance. But this would be prohibitive.

Just bought KS 5626-7113 for 193 $, perfect dial with some not very bothering dent on the case, I light polished it with cape cod and it looks very good with some scratch still visible, but the watch is dead just after 2 hours I receive it. Now it's being serviced for estimated 60$ (overhaul service), do you think this is a good deal? I don't know the service outcome yet, but I guess it's not too bad since I receive it in working condition

Hi William. Nice review. I am looking for a KS (actually I have a 5626 7080T in mind) but I have some doubts about buying a SARB035 instead. the price is not a key factor. What's the difference between the movements (the sarb has a 6R15)? Thanks a lot and best wishes from The Netherlands.

    • @rajgill7576
      @rajgill7576 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@rage8kage yes, but in Japan yahoo auctions there are some sellers who stock a metal replacement. My date quickset is not working but I have the part ($60ish) just looking/waiting for a good trusted repair person.
I might be able to find you a part number if you need, but my watch is packed away in a factory walnut box at the moment (:

HarryUnchained they could be since some are high beats so they could still be accurate but that would be bad for the movement since the oils are dry and it’s metal on metal. I’m no expert btw, this is just my understanding
