There's a perfect distinction between someone that just plays blues licks and someone that actually plays blues. This guy can play blues. I'm not a blues player myself though I am heavily inspired from blues.
Nicely put, lots can p[lay blues licks, not many can truly play the blues.
It really shows too i can distinguish right away when someone is actually playing the "blues" compared too just playing fast emotionless blues licks they sound totally different its hard to explain..
yeah, and it's hard to be a bluesman these days. I mean, we don't live with blues, we don't get what they got that days. Totally different.

The one thing I always come back to is his vibrato and pitch. Every bend is pitch perfect and with just flawless vibrato

This is like the gold standard of blues phrasing. I very often get bored of blues, there is so much recycling going on, but this had me hooked form start to finish! Really nicely done Chris. Eyes closed, just feeling it out, lost in the sounds. Classy stuff.

@@TheLowbob55 The English language at its core function is used to communicate. It is understandable that words become used often or recycled in this context.
If you consider the artistic uses of the English language such as book writing and poetry, lyrics etc. You'd be pretty bored pretty fast listening to everyone using the same language in the exact same way over and over. Artistic expression in both music and language is about creation and inspiration, giving the audience something new to consume, even if it's somewhat familiar. Blues is a very very familiar sound and has an equally familiar library of phrases and sounds. To me, I find a lot of blues to sound very copy pasted, and it offers me nothing new to listen to. It does not build or progress on its predecessors.
I do not find Kingfish to be a copy paster! He brings his own secret sauce.

She is the first black female to have a signature guitar on Fender (big ups to Fender on that) I sure would pay good money to see Kingfish and H.E.R sherd something together.
