Nah, the last one before Axe's departure. Axe is amazing, Fredrik is amazing, Joakim is amazing. Peter was meh, I really liked Lopez but Axe is a beast.
The world is blessed to have an opportunity to hear such beautiful music played perfectly live. And it's free to watch. The sad thing is that only a fraction of humanity will ever hear this, and an even smaller fraction will truly appreciate what a gift it is.
Thx Opeth, Thx Mike, it's so beautiful and great to have such a band, I think now, after all this years that this is the best band ever (I except Queen which is the band that's I have listened all my life)
You nailed it. Not only is it an exceptional example of truly creative musicians (mixing various styles of music, even in a single song), but their raw talent in playing technically-difficult music truly flawless (all of the performances sound identical to the album) is incredibly impressive.
I agree, but ironically there's a lot of people (not here, but people I know) that hates this, and say "to hear then okay exactly like the album I'd rather sit in my couch an listen to the album)
Yes, one hundred percent. Martin Lopez’s attitude and creative force is unmatched to this day. Have you heard him in his current band Soen? He seems to be comfortable there but no where near as bright energetic and creative as he was with Opeth, seems like Mikael pushed him to amazing creative limits Lopez had in him, really created amazing drumming masterpieces. Currently sad to say he’s performing almost easy basic drumming for Soen. Sad his mental health was suffering and couldn’t continue with Opeth :( Axe was also amazing, still super upset he left.
@@stormcorrosion176 I'm saying "fuck yeah" Still got the backstage photos, still have their manager's phone number. Even bumped into Steven Wilson backstage but didn't recognize him. Believe what you will buddy.
I'm quite new to Opeth, with no nostalgia-bias., but there's something really special about this lineup. Something unquantifiable about these five individuals playing together. Such a great mix too. A truly CLASSIC live recording which I just keep coming back to. Thank you, internet!
I was 18 when this DVD came up and we were blown away. I can't remember how many times i have watched it with friends. A gem from the times when Opeth was Opeth. Have a great day!
It’s very quantifiable. You like this era of music. The only thing stagnant about this band the most important aspect is mikael. Everything else is just window dressing.
When I was 12 I used to have a paper route and listen to Ghost Reveries and Damnation on a Sony discman for hours on end completely lost and enthralled in the music.. 31 now. Blessed to experience life at the same time as this beautiful band.
I lived in downtown Chicago right near the House of Blues in my late 20's and every so often I'd get stoned and just go down and watch whatever live music they had. I remember seeing Opeth not long after Blackwater Park had been released. Opening for Sepultura I think. Totally blew me away. I don't remember Sepultura but I remember Opeth.
Remember this gig clearly, must have been about 21 years old at the time (almost 40 now). Remember how awkwardly hilarious it was seeing a bunch of Metalheads in Morbid Angel/Deicide shirts standing around waiting for the extreme metal part of the set to start. I jokingly tried to start a moshpit during the soft set, which lasted about 6 seconds.
I was endlessly listening to this as an undergraduate in Northern Greece, on a DVD, right after it came out. Opeth's best and brightest lineup in my books. A fantastic DVD as it had the Deliverance/Damnation studio recording too as a documentary. And here, tonight, 20 years later listening to it somewhere in Ireland. I got old, but this is, and will remain, timeless. Thank you for uploading it!
I saw this for the first time back when it came out and was not really into the band but knew of them. Completely blew my mind. Ever since then, Opeth have lived inside of my head ever since.
Daaamn, this shot at 1:06:32 when López mute the crash, with Méndez on the front... it`s just amazing, great moment and energy. Latinoamericanos power!

Floating on mist
Crept up the caverns of my brain
Received no warning
From nothing to a life code
Walk with me, you'll never leave
Wait to see your spirit free
Tell me how your heart's in need
As I drown you in the sea
Unwinding snares of distrust
Your wrist in my fast grip
Look me in the eye, I'm clear
This is your time
Face down beneath the waterline
Gazing into the deep
From love to death
In a time span of seconds
Oblivious to regret
Pushed into belief
In liquid cellophane
Gasping for air
Mercy in my eyes
Is the shade of the night
The piercing sounds you make
Soaring higher, higher now
And once left in my wake
Your memory is nothing but the scars on me
All over now
Forgotten why I needed this
Standing down
Disappear into the obscure
Resting days
Waiting for new disease
Biding time
Locked inside insanity
It always burns within
The downward spiral never ends
When driven into sin
Your salvation's found in a sinner's deed
The devil guides the way
Tells me what to say
Pours himself inside
And snuffs the final light
Deliverance
Thrown back at me
Deliverance
Laughing at me
Genios, simplemente.
amazing thanks for share !!!!!
Great formation! Clean and entrosada!
