I really like building a base above the wheelbarrow, where the field station is, you can make a zipline to a lot of places and it is near a field station, you just connect it to the brick and go from there
Most recent base was inside the Cinderblocks under the Javamatic. It's not protected from ground or air raids sadly, but it can be made approachable from only two directions and is pretty central to late game resources.
I'm a baseball base diehard. You didn't mention the ridiculous amount of weevils for food or that the fallen branch nearby can be used for a sap farm. The mites aren't that bad. When I get to late game I just make an outpost on the far east of the upper yard accent. Just above the stink bugs by the far side of the pond. The two can zipline to each other and I build stairs to the upper yard. Minimal building for max access to the yard.
I’m quite fond of the lilypad with the pink flower by the pair of acorn leaves + twig. I build a staircase *just* off the rock, so when I run over the edge, chasing creatures lose interest, I’ve never had any ground based critters get anywhere near my building. I do tend to avoid mosquitos, so they’ve not come knocking. I have* had wasps show up once and nibble on things, but it was too too terrible. Three other raids seems to get lost trying to find me, or they focused on other minor builds i have around the map. Just enough room for an octagonal house 3 panels-on-a-side. Currently have a four level house, pluse a zipline platform on the roof. I set the first floor so the lily pad is just sticking through slightly, one full wall + one half-wall, and all my cozy living and storage is on that floor, industrial on the bottom lily pad floor, grass plank and stem storage on the loft floor, and the top floor is just doors onto the top walkway for defense. The *only * creature interaction has been while actually building, or renovating the structure when I didn’t have an enclosed roof. Twice I’ve had wolf spiders spawn on the top floor., where they couldnt’ escape anyway. When the roof was fully ‘tighted-in”, nothing has ever appeared there.
I do admit it’s fun to run from them back to my base, hop down on the lily pad, and watch them jump over me into the water where they drown instantly. Too bad waterlogged bug parts are “corrupted” and cant be harvested.
I've got a tiny survival outpost under the Moldorc castle, I like to think of it as a build that Tully made as a spy outpost to get closer to Schmector

there a milk molar jar in the upper yard by the wall and car that u can build in. its small but if u r good with using space u can fit everything u need in it and nothing can get in it. if u a careful placing things so they dont poke out nothing can be broke by bugs. also gives u a nice window to look out of
Im currently building my base where those 2 Black Ox beetles spawn and they keep spawning there. Driving me crazy haha is there something i should build/place down to stop them from spawning?
You can block the wolf spider spawn at the oak tree by placing clay ? Could you explain that a little more, do you mean you block them by placing clayfoundations in the entrys of the oak spiderspawn ?
If you place clay foundations in the spots where they spawn you can stop them from spawning, they then spawn outside with the wolf spider by the milk molar. Don't know if this has been fixed since though
I walled off all the entrances under the oak tree. The spiders rarely spawn outside of the walls. Kill them off and you're good for a long time. My first (grass plank) base is very similar to the first one in this video. I built it around the oak tree all the way to the top. I also have it wrapped around the light pole so I can harvest gnats for food. Very effective base and rarely does it get attacked below. I put in layers of stop-gaps so they rarely if ever reach my main base. The biggest PITA to build around the oak tree is getting supplies up there. Not hard once you put in clover ramps, but it just takes time. I've since built a new brick castle base over the water that encompasses the Pagoda. I have a water entrance in the bottom so I can collect tadpole food anytime I need it. Way better than the light pole as the tadpoles are always there and you don't have to wait until nite time. My zip-deck is on top of the pagoda and can reach almost anywhere in the yard except those on the opposite side of the tree. For that I zip up to my first base high up in the oak tree. My water caste is still a work in progress as the possibilities are endless! Nothing from land can attack it. Flying creatures probably can but they haven't so far. Even if they did, I have very good defenses. Remember: build LAYERS of defenses. Distract them with something to break so they never hurt your main base. A few simple short walls for a barrier for example. Works good. I also have series of small outposts all around the yard. These are an absolute MUST in the game. Each outpost has a place to sleep, a barbecue pit, workbench, dew collector and storage. ALWAYS keep a storage box in them with first aid and food. Not to mention you need the storage for the endless amounts of crap you collect.. lol.
Built my new base in the ox beetle cave like you suggested, they’ve respawned 3 times and completely destroyed everything. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
There’s an soda can half in the water right at the entrance of the undershed and you can place some swimming foundations in there it Hal a lot of space a you’ll get rid of all kind of bugs
If you wanna have a base without building much build on a lilypad near the oak tree, its flat and impossible to raid by ground enemies and quite close to the upper yard wall so all you need is a small zipline to get up there easily, the cons of the base is that its far from all the superchips and the sandbox but usually you only go to most of those places once or twice
Yeah main issue for me was you always get raided by flying enemies which are the WORST. Whereas if you're on land you get raided by the creature that's on land nearby usually
I build my base on top of the baseball bat, covering the chair. No ground raids and nice sipline connections. Only getting up by sipline takes some time
Fun fact for location 2: if you build you house on the rock AND build a tower to the upper part, and connect it - with a little pathway or stairs leading to the most upper rock, then the raids will happen only there, where it connect on the top - basically you just have to defend that one entrance point and its super easy. cheers
Have you ever tried building in the Welp Flavourdrink Can near the tree? I am playing in WHOA difficulty and that can has been lifesaving in terms of being unraidable because the insects break the stair entry before they even try to pathfind into the Can.
You mean in the large ring of hose? Sounds like a cool idea only problem is it is in the corner of the map and quite low down so you'd need a big bounce tower for ziplines
So the green shield bugs on the bin dont respawn really damn thats awesome do you have to build there to prevent them from spawning or just kill them and thats it
Nice video! Number 3 looks like a great late game base location, especially if you make good use of zip lines. Though, were would the closest field station be?
Question did you build in free form or gathering all you're building supplies, sorry if you stated and I didn't catch it? I ask since that is one massive tree base, I built my base next to the Juice box by the tree.
Has anyone added trampolines to their base that are on high ground? I’ve been using them on my oak tree base and so now I don’t have to worry about some ramps on the ground
Only risk here is if the trampoline gets broken you can't get back up lol, bounce towers are always fun though. Could also make a zipline up to the base which is even cheaper
A couple of people have mentioned this, you could use the molar jar in the upper yard (the one with 5 molars in) as apparently that works too. I could have sworn someone told me they didn't respawn but maybe it got changed
I think it would be good idea if you made a video of how to deal with wasps in general with different builds. They might patch them though to make them fairer. So it might be worth it to wait.
One unraidable spot is in the flooded PVC pipe in the upper yard, near the barbie car. I put some floatable foundation in there, put a wafter on it, and loaded it with tiger mosquitoes parts. Not one mosquito came into the pipe.
My base location is one of the small berry trees in the upper yard, next to the pond. I pretty much made a tree house. Not very good for raids but it is in a perfect spot and it is super cosy.
The black ox beetles do respawn. No matter what you do. Even if you fill it up entirely. They end up spawning on top. You can build a wall and continue to hope they spawn on one side lol.
I know this is not a mythbusting video but I have a myth:in multyplayer if you're friend destroys a wasp nest and you destroy one and then sleep the wasps don't escape from the composter also love the vids keep it up dawg
Ive made bases on areas bugs spawn. Buulding foundations WILL NOT prevent spawning. Only solution is to encase a living bug in at least 2 layers of walls while stealth. Thats what i had to do the prevent the ladybird from killing me outside my upper yard bottle base. And the infected wolf spiders in my under oak base.
You could probably build a full floor over the Oxe Beatles but if you don't do it high enough they will spawn on top your floor. So you would loose a lot of Valuable space.
Although tricky to get going, a base inside the missing kids milk carton is a much safer and BIGGER version of the cave base. Or you could do what I did with the upper yard bottle but you need walls around the bottle because ladybirds can clip through the glass.
Great info as always! Good to know the black ox beetles won't respawn if we build inside the cave. That's new to me. I have a question though about the oak tree. Some time back when I plugged the haze, I had the two wolfies and the infected to deal with under the oak tree. However, I've noticed with the last major update, after plugging the haze the two normal wolf spiders are absent. The one that sleeps under the leaf outside near the pond is still there, but otherwise it's just the infected inside the oak tree. Is this the norm now? Speaking of the haze, on your second suggestion with the nearby infected being a minor inconvenience I'd say it's actually an advantage if you need fungal growth at all.
@@paraly5er on mine I got the infected one. A very much changed sleep schedule on the other. Ever fight two wolf spiders and an infected wolf spider at once? It happened to me around there. Once they start roaming they are a pain.
I'm sorry it seems like it got changed, you can reload your old save to get your stuff back. It does however work IF you trap the black ox beetles and build around them
My 3 base locations were My oldest 1. The baseball My second 2. The rocks near the upper yard accent My current base 3. On the rocks near the frankenline
I wish there was another mod or cheat engine script to allow you to build anywhere. Update 1.2 has broken the old cheat engine script that allowed you to do this
You miss so many base locations that are actually good like for instance for 1 just 1 base. I can tell you where you can put the rock by the pond in the red ant hill. Is? The Amazing place for a base before you get wasp. Raids can't get u Do you have a endless supply of bombadeer beautiful parts spider spider silk grubs clay nearby Flower petals With a bounced hour you are pretty central in the map for the beginning of it picnic tables nearby sandbox nearby trash heap is close haze is nearby. I think it's a perfect place for a beginner base
Have we tested that the Beatles don't respawn? I built a base in there hanging from the roof for fear that they would respawn. They did and destroyed it with thrown rocks... But it may be different if I had built on the floor. Can anyone confirm?
As a TH-camr, your self, you should actually probably experiment before wasting peoples time, I built into the cave where the two beetles spawn, and no matter what I did placing everywhere they still Spond even inside of the building I placed I wasted hours of work, because I thought I could make it where they would not spawn like you said, but in reality that is not possible no matter what you do next time before you come out with a TH-cam video, you might want to test every theory before saying they will not spawn in if they changed it then they changed it but I can tell you know that it is not possible to build a place down there and not have them spawn every two days
They changed it since, I apologise. There is a workaround though where you wait for them to spawn and then enclose them in clay foundations. You could do this using the handy gnat if enabled in your world. This means they will be trapped and unable to attack, only downside would be hearing them in your base.
@@paraly5er yeah that’s true though what I did is I made a base on the oak tree and on top of the lawnmower ,the only downside is how slow it is but I have so many good things near me and the tiger mosquitos never “visit”

You might need more furniture to increase coziness? It also maybe to do with where your spawn is set?
@@paraly5er I needed to add a bed. Once I added a bed everything worked.

and over dääh!
there a milk molar jar in the upper yard by the wall and car that u can build in. its small but if u r good with using space u can fit everything u need in it and nothing can get in it. if u a careful placing things so they dont poke out nothing can be broke by bugs. also gives u a nice window to look out of
Very true
Im currently building my base where those 2 Black Ox beetles spawn and they keep spawning there. Driving me crazy haha is there something i should build/place down to stop them from spawning?
Sadly not, this was defo changed a while back, I have a more recent base location video with much better spots
@@paraly5er thank you. Ive decided to build on top of those rocks instead
@@paraly5er can you Block the Spawn at the milk Molar aswell? And thank you for ur quick response.
Make sure the floor is completely covered by clay foundations
@@paraly5er I did thanks, 5 levels deeps, spent the whole day farming the clay, they just spawn on top of it, it’s futile.
@@jasonwhittington420 Did you cover the side part where the large rock is too? Or just the dirt part?
@@paraly5er The flat rock you can’t build on? No just the dirt.
@@paraly5er I’d love a longer video on how to do this right, we need a sanctum to escape the wasps and this has so much promise.
There’s an soda can half in the water right at the entrance of the undershed and you can place some swimming foundations in there it Hal a lot of space a you’ll get rid of all kind of bugs
The fact the stinkbugs dont respawn on the composted is god-tier info.
@@paraly5er this is why you always turn off faction raids and stuff, because it's stupid annoying for no reason lol but I understand if u don't wanna
I build my base on top of the baseball bat, covering the chair. No ground raids and nice sipline connections. Only getting up by sipline takes some time
Fun fact for location 2: if you build you house on the rock AND build a tower to the upper part, and connect it - with a little pathway or stairs leading to the most upper rock, then the raids will happen only there, where it connect on the top - basically you just have to defend that one entrance point and its super easy. cheers
Very cool, thanks for sharing
Is there a way to make a ramp other then clover roofs? I want to make a nice looking ramp but not have to rely on clover roofs
You could use actualy stairs, there are plenty of variants of stairs and roofs (ramps) in the game
@@paraly5er if I want to make a ramp high up with stairs don’t I need foundation support?
I already have a base on the composter
What is the spawn time between green shield bugs
They don't respawn on top of the composter
@@paraly5er ohh okay thank you
Have you ever tried building in the Welp Flavourdrink Can near the tree? I am playing in WHOA difficulty and that can has been lifesaving in terms of being unraidable because the insects break the stair entry before they even try to pathfind into the Can.
Yeah I built in there on my whoa one life world, only issue is sometimes enemies hit through the walls
What About inside the hose near the trash pile? me and my friend built inside there and its very spacious and good for raids.
You mean in the large ring of hose? Sounds like a cool idea only problem is it is in the corner of the map and quite low down so you'd need a big bounce tower for ziplines
another good place to build is on the table next to the chair by the Mantis
how do you avoid having the ox beetles to respawn inside the rocky cave? mine keep respawning :/
A few people have said this, sounds like the spot no longer works sadly, but going inside the milk molar bottle in the upper yard should be safe
So the green shield bugs on the bin dont respawn really damn thats awesome do you have to build there to prevent them from spawning or just kill them and thats it
No just kill them and they don't come back
Nice video! Number 3 looks like a great late game base location, especially if you make good use of zip lines. Though, were would the closest field station be?
im pretty sure its on the side of the shed. just be careful for fire ants as they can go into it sometimes
There's one in the composter and also one just above the undershed entrance
I built my base around the first field station that you find, it was my first and only base in the game and I am very close to 100% the game
Wouldnt be a good wasp proof location be inside the thing on the lake ? The holes are small but you just fit through ( forgot the name)
The pagoda? Could be good but not sure if the wasps could get through too
@@paraly5er yes that could you test it out ? My laptop is at the repair shop
Mosquitoes will fit through the holes, not sure about the Wasps.
Question did you build in free form or gathering all you're building supplies, sorry if you stated and I didn't catch it? I ask since that is one massive tree base, I built my base next to the Juice box by the tree.
The tree base was built in my survival world, so I gathered everything myself yes
i build a kind of little city on the pond. Got a huge tower with ziplines to reach all the points on the map i want.
Sounds very cool, lots of mosquito raids though probably
Has anyone added trampolines to their base that are on high ground? I’ve been using them on my oak tree base and so now I don’t have to worry about some ramps on the ground
Only risk here is if the trampoline gets broken you can't get back up lol, bounce towers are always fun though. Could also make a zipline up to the base which is even cheaper
Anyone else having problems with the base at 9:40? The ox beetles keep respawning despite having foundations down
A couple of people have mentioned this, you could use the molar jar in the upper yard (the one with 5 molars in) as apparently that works too. I could have sworn someone told me they didn't respawn but maybe it got changed
I think it would be good idea if you made a video of how to deal with wasps in general with different builds. They might patch them though to make them fairer. So it might be worth it to wait.
What's worked best for me so far is using assassin armor with the widow dagger to bleed them since they don't resist bleed damage
i fucking hate wasps so much
One unraidable spot is in the flooded PVC pipe in the upper yard, near the barbie car. I put some floatable foundation in there, put a wafter on it, and loaded it with tiger mosquitoes parts. Not one mosquito came into the pipe.
Very small area for a base but good to know
You have a mosquito farm.
How to you have bur growing at the oak tree?
It grows everywhere when you plug the haze
My base that I am moving in on is up against the wall between the composter box and the ladder
My base location is one of the small berry trees in the upper yard, next to the pond. I pretty much made a tree house. Not very good for raids but it is in a perfect spot and it is super cosy.
Sounds interesting. Having and Inf Wold spider, ladybird larva, wasps and tiger mosquitos nearby OUCH haha
@@paraly5erlol it is in a good part of the map tho where u can zipline to anywhere
The black ox beetles do respawn. No matter what you do. Even if you fill it up entirely. They end up spawning on top. You can build a wall and continue to hope they spawn on one side lol.
Yes they do now, it got changed at one point
Great video but you tend to pick a bace location at the startbof the game and most of these ain't early game friendly like the upper yard areas 😅
True but once you get late game you can take stuff up ziplines so you could move base pretty easily
Mom wake up paralyzer just uploaded a new video
The cave does seem like a good place but how do i deal with the black ox beetles?
Apparently they changed it so the beetles respawn, so maybe not such a good place
Can you do a tutorial about your base, bc I like it and I wanna do it in my world
I've made tutorials on the best storage room before. My base is just that and a bunch of floor space for other stuff like armor stands and sign sets
I know this is not a mythbusting video but I have a myth:in multyplayer if you're friend destroys a wasp nest and you destroy one and then sleep the wasps don't escape from the composter also love the vids keep it up dawg
It's all to do with faction reactivity. You need the wasps to want you gone then when you sleep it will open the composter up
@@paraly5er ohh ok I don't want to go near the wasps
Maybe the Infected wolfie is killing the wolf spiders when they spawn? Just like how everything was killing the poor bees
@@paraly5er on mine I got the infected one. A very much changed sleep schedule on the other. Ever fight two wolf spiders and an infected wolf spider at once? It happened to me around there. Once they start roaming they are a pain.
Mine respawn the black ox beetles
Black ox beetles will repsawn in your base
My concern with a base on the wood box is that someday the devs may put something on top of it.
Unlikely as they tend to add stuff to areas that have construction tape around them
Fun fact: there are 30,000 species of wasps
How did you take control of your knat
You need to have it enabled in custom game settings then open build menu and press Y on a controller
@@paraly5er ah gotcha thank you 👍
I built a base in the cave, then the two beetles respawned and destroyed hours of work in mere seconds.
I'm sorry it seems like it got changed, you can reload your old save to get your stuff back. It does however work IF you trap the black ox beetles and build around them
Absolutely love this new update. I hope my old bases dont get raided by wasps 😢
Praying for you haha
@@paraly5er a great idea you pointed out is anchoring to an indestructible object. I'm going to do that for sure
My 3 base locations were
My oldest 1. The baseball
My second 2. The rocks near the upper yard accent
My current base 3. On the rocks near the frankenline
Very nice, my first base was around the first field station
I do that baggota. Waspe get stuck alot on the holes.
I wish there was another mod or cheat engine script to allow you to build anywhere. Update 1.2 has broken the old cheat engine script that allowed you to do this
Damn I didn't realise it broke, hopefully the mod maker can fix it
2md last base tested mobs crawl in and fly into the 2 openings
Im going to make a base at cave raids are bad for stronger things aka wasps i have not even killed one yet
Me and my friends and build our bass around the lantern
Can you do 200 days of grounded because of the super duper update?
Wouldn't take another 100 days sadly, would likely only take 20-30 days to do all the new stuff
Rip
I was really hoping for 200 days :(
You miss so many base locations that are actually good like for instance for 1 just 1 base.
Lily pad touchgcing the fallen branch
We build our home on the ponds connected to a branch and we are near the Juice rack. Facing the Lab as well.
Tree, The Rock (If Yk Yk), and after that just mini bases for resources
sand castle in snadbox ???
inside the pagoda ??? (thats where i live)
Sandcastle would give you a permenant dehydration debuff, not ideal. Pagoda is a good spot too tbf
My base that I always build where you spawn the first field station
Fair enough, not a bad spot, that's where I built my first ever base when the game first released
I am on one of the flat rocks surrounding the pond. The one right to the juice box :3
Nice haha, that's where I live on my challenge worlds
The flat rocks are a realy nice location to build, central enough and somewhat save. A lot of people build there I think!@@paraly5er
I’ve built one inside a little tunnel in the upper yard we’re the fire ants are
Have fun haha
Have we tested that the Beatles don't respawn? I built a base in there hanging from the roof for fear that they would respawn. They did and destroyed it with thrown rocks... But it may be different if I had built on the floor. Can anyone confirm?
I've heard from a few people that they now respawn sadly
What about on top of the lawnmower?
Interesting idea although lots of tiger mosquitos nearby
@@paraly5er yeah that’s true though what I did is I made a base on the oak tree and on top of the lawnmower ,the only downside is how slow it is but I have so many good things near me and the tiger mosquitos never “visit”
on top of the rocks near edge of upper yard next to charcoal sack
Nice flat area and quite high up too
