      Re Function 12 : Does it have a hidden key ring loop like the Wave perhaps ?
      I wish they'd machine different sized hex holes into the frame handle to make free extra functions 👍

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว

      @edwardfletcher7790 it does not have a hidden ring. I personally avoid the tools with the hex holes as they are usually not heat treated, making them weak and easy to round off.

    This is pretty good. They are truly spitting out new tools pretty fast. This battles well against the Gerber Armbar which is currently my favorite. This is awesome.

    Thanks for the patient demo video . The 2 flat blades can be used as pics / pry bars, also the main blade has a slot for the awl function . Haven't broken the v handy mini pick / pry on the original leatherman yet, that alone sparked my interest in all makes of these fantastic tools . Many thanks .

    I picked up the exact same multitool, I got it on Amazon for $16. I like having the tools available to me in my pocket. My favorite tools are the knife, scissors and hex bit driver.

    I need to think on how put a deep pocket clip on it, the tool setup its just great

  • @SurvivingtheDaily
    @SurvivingtheDaily ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You are absolutely correct in saying that the quarter inch bit driver is considered a tool. And unfortunately, they are counting the belt clip as a tool. Just like other companies will count the split ring key ring attachment as a tool.

      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've sent a message to Rocktol, I'll see what they say.

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I received a response from Rocktol "Our product team did count the pocket clip as a function and the awl count as two functions, punching hole and threading. But we've made improvements to this model by adding inch and centimeter rulers on the handle and the updated version has just arrived at the Amazon warehouse recently. It shall be available after our first batch is sold out very soon. " So I'll buy the new version to be fair and make a comparison video.

    Honestly this thing is great for the price. I love the size of it. The pocket clip is really bad though. I was thinking of putting a leatherman sidekick clip on it but not sure if it will fit or not.

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know if that clip will work, i haven't had any problems with mine though.

    I do like this form factor, and made it better with an after market thumb stud, as the one handed opening of the knife was a little hard without it.

    Guessing they consider the bit driver a nut driver when the bit is removed and the hole in the awl as a separate tool for sewing

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly, although, seeing how thin the wall of the bit driver is, it may be only one time use.

    Maybe the twelfth tool is the can opener being a bottle opener as well. And by that logic it can open blister (plastic) packaging as well. You welcome Rocktol now it’s the 13 in 1 send the check in the mail.

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, the can opener is sharp enough to process sticks for tinder as well.

    Did you count the Rulers as measuring devices, and possibly “straight edges” for drawing straight lines?

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This model doesn't have rulers. This is the 1st generation not the 2nd generation.

    I've been DESPERATE to find out what size neodymium magnet to put in this bit driver to magnetize it -- anybody got any idea?💡

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a 6mm thick bit, so a 6mm hexagon shape magnet should fit, in theory. The problem is its thickness. The bit driver is not deep enough to still use a double sided ball detent bit. I suppose, you could drill a small hole in the center, to deepen it, but I have not tried that yet.

    • @garypotter5569
      @garypotter5569 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Survival-gyver Thanks! You're awesome!🤗
      PS if it's magnetically retained anyway, doesn't the ball detent become irrelevant?

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garypotter5569 The ball detent would be irrelevant, with the use of a magnet, but you would probably not use the bits the tool came with.

    • @garypotter5569
      @garypotter5569 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ball detent bits of this exact length are hard to find. Magnetic retention expands the possibilities of bits by literally thousands.

    Isn’t the thumb nick on the driver tool also a bottle opener?

    The one i have has 2 forms of measuring on the rails so i guess that answers the 12 count. Yours appears to be missing though

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you read the description, the manufacturer stated that they counted 2 items that were not tools as tools. They have since fixed the tool to be correct by adding the measuring prints.

    These companies consider a pocket clip and key ring attachments as tools to make people think that they are getting more than they are.

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they have a new version with rulers on the side to have the proper amount of usable tools per the description.
