I never expect much from legend guides, but i think this is one of the best set of tips Ive seen to date. Even being a month away from its upload, its value feels almost timeless. Really well done, thank you for the information.
Newcastle main here 10k kills. In pub duos swift shield isnt bad but thick shield always needs to be your option 9/10 times. 250 damage it breaks with swift shield if you're caught by 2 people firing on your shield with a purple mag they can just mag straight through your shield and kill you always buff your shield damage. Rampart and Maggie are going to be your worst match ups and having thick shield saves me every other match from getting mowed down by Sheila as I can get 3 peek pumps out with a shotgun before she mows down the shield and me.
saying thick shield should always be your option 9 out of 10 times is crazy, choosing that literally disables aggressive plays and disengaging effectively with the shield. Also if you're ever in a position where theres two guys shooting your shield thats an indicator that youre in a bad position and you need to get to actual cover or fight and if youre already at good cover and theyre melting through your shield then thats when i can see thick shield buying you some time for the inevitable or the craziest save known to mankind. Also if youre able to to 3 pump a rampart with shiela in her hand then that means that rampart is a noob and shes upclose in your face, what if shes far away from you? what will you do then?...if she was that close in your face you could of still killed her without the perk... I genuinly think its fits comp alot more where theres always 20 teams in zone 4 but for rank and pubs where its never that serious you can benefit and have alot more fun from the speed perk but hey if you say it works for you then congrats i might start using it more
@@MrJokujo one thing you forgot to mention in your video is if you throw your shield way out in front of you you can run full speed while catching up to your shield and blocking enemy bullets at the same time you don't need the speed perk. New castles shield is be used to make your fights 1v1s and cut off enemy angles not charge at people with a 250 shield you need to be using his shield every fight and maximizing it's full time while it's out you can only do that with max shield hp. If a rampart is behind her walls at distance beaming you in the open just ult away. Yeah you can peak 3x on a sheila just go left to right on your shield as most ramparts will just try and go straight through the center of the shield and break it. 3 pumps is doable. Sometimes Sheila is on door or in situations where you are just caught out by it the shield hp is important. Also maximizing it's time out like I said you should be able to fight 2 people with 1 shield you need that hp my guy
@@MrJokujo Also watch Levels he's the top Newcastle if he's not #1 he's top 3 he has like 70k he's got a TH-cam channel and he was just featured on the gaming merchants channel like a week ago. Levels made a guide video as well he always picks thick shield no matter what. There's a reason for that and he also talks about it in his video you should check it out.
@@blutzwaves4471 cutting off enemy angles is the purpose of Newcastle's shield and saying it wasnt made to charge at people is insane, i dont know if you watched that algs match when northeption was trapped behind a wall in climatizer and they had to move out first with two teams focusing them so they decided to smoke one team and push the other with the tactical shield but it was just way too slow and they could not cover the distance they needed to make that fight a fair 3v3, if they had the speed perk in that moment things would have been different. also throwing out your shield way infront just to be able to run behind it has its flaws, what if youre in a situation where you had to place it at your feet first? How far is the enemy youre running at? What if by doing that you gave them a chance to use your own shield against you? what if the enemy is slightly more on height which requires you to stay close to your shield while moving? its better to have a shield you can run with rather than walk with. I remember so many people complaining about why was the shield so slow. I know 100% that thick shield serves its purpose but please dont try to make it seem like the speed perk doesnt, I believe they both exist for different playstyles. i know your new to my channel but this entire channel existed and started when newcastle was released, ever since then ive only solo q with newcastle, you can check for yourself, I'm a day one believer. so maybe because im a solo quer which requires me to play different, i saw more use in the speed perk, maybe if i actually had friends i could play with just maybe i would have tried the thick shield perk more... but it is what it is. i do wanna ask you tho what made you decide to main newcastle and grind to 10k kills?
I just switched to castle after I kept noticing I was first to fights and my team mates would never help by covering angles or looking for opportunities so that would allow the enemy team to do so and I get shot in the back
Love this guide, as a Wattson main, I’ve been a Newcastle believer since season 13 when I saw old 100 thieves run a Newcastle and Wattson comp in ALGS 2022 finals and dominated the tourney and finals day getting 3rd with it. Ever since then Wattson and a Newcastle is still one of those comps that always work together well and is still being used today sorta like bang and blood, cat/seer, or gibby/caustic or horizon/fuse etc Oh and Also loved the mystery dungeon music choice 💙🌬⚡️
I want to master a few legends, to stay flexible in different team comps (mainly ranked focus & I sometimes solo que). I decided for Fuse (aggressive), Newcastle (Support), Crypto (Recon) and I want one more movement character. Who do you rather recommend, Vantage or Valkyrie?
I play Newcastle and you can be hell of aggressive with him using his ult he's the best legend to take angles with that force opps out of cover or to flank with
What I do with NC's perks is not select the level 3 perk at all until I'm forced to. You can literally select the miracle worker perk while you're reviving a downed teammate and the effect will apply. So if no one of your teammates are down there's no reason to select it, which gives you more time to look for the gold knock. This way I can have no regrets, and have more games with all 3 bonuses.
I get annoyed when the newcastle pushes and leaves hi team out in the open to fend for themselves. He is supposed to put his team first and I also hate when people take the knockdown shileds they are only of any use to newcastle
How do you need expert mechanics to be aggressive with a moving shield that you can use to chose how your engagement with the enemy goes??? That doesn't even make sense, how would it be harder to use to get kills than someone else, %80 of tue characters in the game doesn't just get you easy kills because you used their abilities, you have to have aim to shoot people regardless 😂😂
saying characters in the game doesn't get you easy kills because you used their abilities is actually insane so im not gonna debate with you bro... have a nice day
Im not good at explaining so if you're confused you can ask your questions in the comment section😅
unironically one of the better newcastle guides out there. A lot of them are just generic guides by ppl who don't actually main him. Thank you!
No problem bro😁
I love how informative this video is while being both entertaining AND realistic to the current meta. Great video thank you
thank you for watching bro i put my heart into this one😁
S Tier guide video. Usually you finish a video like this having just reinforced what you already know. Came out of this one feeling edified.
im glad you found this useful bro
thnx for watching💪
Nice to see another newcastle brother💯
Indeed my friend💪
I recently picked up Newcastle and thinking to main him, he’s actually preety fun and it’s sad to see him be the lowest pick rate
its gonna look even worse when they release the new movement legend💀
@@MrJokujo who’s the new legend ?
@@BreezeXn her name is alter and shes basically wraith with portal abilities more tailored to movement

Does the knockdown shield regenerate if it gets damaged whilst reviving your teammate.
Yes it does
