Hi Fil, I am so looking forward to your interview with Morris Hayes, it'll be interesting to see what he says about working with Prince! I absolutely love this jam, I think it's one of the best ones you've done, although they are all awesome! You're one cool guitarist, I don't believe there's anything you can't play! ROCK!! 🎸🤘
New on this great, great channel which I discovered because of your Ten Years After @ Woodstock video. That performance of "I'm going home" on radio broadcast in the mid 70s was my live changing rock awakening moment. - - - Now I will watch every single episode. So much fun, and this one is even more special.
You know, Fil, your extremely wide interest in musical styles, genres and artists continues to astound me. You are a true lover of music and because of you in relatively short time I’ve come to appreciate artists that I would never have gone out of my way to hear. As always, Rock On 🤘 🎸 🥁 🎤💙
Awesome, Prince was an awesome all rounder, but his guitar playing is fantastic, can't wait for the interview. Prince like many others went to the big gig in the sky too soon. 🤟 Thanks Fil for the great jam awesome playing as always 🤟
My daughter just gave me tickets to go to Prince’s place in the twin cities for Mother’s Day!!!! We live in Minnesota and have never seen it so I’m very excited!
Thank you Fil for the update. I am looking forward to the interview and I just got done watching you break down the notes with your guitar on the Prince solo. Great job! 😊🎸🎵
Thanks for the info, Fil. Thank you, also for your phenomenal guitar jam too! Man, Fil..you play SO well, and smoothly. It sounds as if you’ve been playing for a few years! 😉 ❤
@@drewpall2598 Well I’ll be damned! Someone told me he just learned how to strum just a few months ago..NOW look at him go! Why, he’s Unbelievable!! I can’t get over the collection he’s got for himself either! That’s just a ploy to make people think he’s been going at it for years!
Thanks, Fil! What a treat! An extra helping of Fil Jam to relax and unwind with after a long work week. I'm also very much looking forward to the Morris Hayes video! 🖤🤘
Very excited about this epic interview Fil with Mr. Morris, and good morning!👍🎸🌹🤘🇬🇧 From NY 🇺🇸🧸🎻☕🍎🥠🥞 I will be watching, anything about Prince is phenomenal. So very intrigued and wanting to learn more about Prince..... So , i just saw this video now Saturday May 13th 2023. So thanks for the heads up and take care. I will see you later on Live stream if I am not busy. You go man🤘 with this funky raw jamming backing track!🎶🎸🇬🇧 Brilliant brilliant Fil, enjoyed that.... Be well , and thanks always Fil.
Looking forward to Your interview with MH, FIL - as well as tomorrow (Saturday...) night!💕 And, loved every second of Your jam tonight - wish it would've been longer!
I was watching a news report about Bam Margera. There was a domestic dispute at his home in PA, Castle Bam. In the report his brother Jess, founding member of CKY said he was at Bam’s house to install Prince’s old mixing board from Paisley Park. Thought that was interesting
Looking forward to that interview with Morris. Prince was such an under rated guitar player. He played many different instruments, as well as guitar. Best Super Bowl half time show IMHO ( even in the rain!). Super talent! Great jams Fil, thanks 👍
Thanks Fil...looks like a very exciting interview. I suppose you will go into technical details (guitar playing). I would ask him if there's more guitar playing material in the legendary vault (even on songs that still remains unknown to us) and if he could tell you stories about fantastic Prince guitar moments (live in concert or in rehersal) that he could share...and most of all, his thoughts about Prince as live instrumental improvisator (technique, genius, talent), and about his incredible ability to change the arrangements during live shows (improvising), "playing the band" and transforming his pop/rock/soul music live, like it was a jazz jam session, but still keeping focused on songs structure, without losing his soul energy...melting songs together, doing covers, changing words and so on...he was the only one (that i know..) doing that live and this is one of his most amazing talents regarding his live concerts attitude.
This is awesome. I believe Morris Hayes might have been the longest-serving member in Prince’s bands over the years. It required enormous work ethic to hang with him that long.
😉This was a stellar jam. Great way to start the weekend Fil. Looking forward to the interview, can't wait. See ya tomorrow night for the stream and ROCK ON!!!
Fil, Great news about Morris and how he found out 'about somebody online' re Prince! Thanks for the Filjam-I was 'jamming along' while filling out a flower order for my mom for Mother's Day! God bless, take care always-Marianne ❤ 4:49
Hey Fil... What a treat, talking to Morris Day... such an icon of music... can you find out from him when the world will ever see more of Prince's vast catalogue of new songs.... since it has been so many years since he passed... really hungry for more Prince sounds!! thanks for the jam, always enjoy it... Blessings.
My sister's love since 83? 84? I remember taking her to the drive-in theartre to see Purple Rain, and it was instant. She saw him in concert easily seven times. Had her camera taken away from her once.
Awesome. I saw the interview where he mentioned you. Morris didn’t say your name but I knew instantly he was talking about you. Glad you were sent the link and followed up. Can’t wait to see your interview with him.
To a degree Prince is so mysterious. I’ve seen Morris talking in detail about Prince. Fil you should enjoy this and be able to extract a low of good information out of this. I’m really looking forward to this.
Hey fill, this is awesome. I’ll be glued to my flatscreen. Can’t wait. I wasn’t paying attention in the beginning. Were you playing along with Prince melodies? Well, it sounded pretty amazing. You have some great chops. 🙏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
I missed which Morris was a musician with Prince. Not Morris Day was he? ❤ Morris Day was in a few films with Prince. He sang, I do not recall him playing any instruments, but that doesn't mean he DIDN'T play any instruments.
@ Bella Donna Fil is talking about Morris Hayes who played keyboards for Prince. Morris Day was the leader of The Time but before that he was a drummer. He played drums with Prince in high school. Prince wanted him to lead The Time because he had another great drummer, Jellybean. He thought Morris had the attitude to be out front.
I want to know if, after all the years of service Mr Hayes gave Prince, if Prince “pushed” him out the door on the sly, by relegating Mr Hayes to a position outside of the Symbol stage that was used on the 2011 tour (the shows at the Forum in Inglewood). Watching the “Play That Funky Music” clip, you wouldn’t even realise Mr Hayes was there. I felt that was very rude of Prince, although typical. Also, I believe Mr Hayes said his favourite show with Prince was the Wembley Stadium show in 1993 on the Act II tour in London. Did Prince know that the sound was so low that we in the crowd could casually speak to each other as the concert went on? I think that’s why the Wembley Stadium show wasn’t as good as it could’ve been… the crowd just wasn’t up to it, due to the low sound.
Prince didn’t push Morris off the symbol stage!! Prince loved the sound of the Hammond organ that Morris played and wanted to bring that sound back. Unfortunately with the Hammond and the other keyboards, Morris’s set up was far too big to fit into the small circle on the symbol stage so he had to be positioned off stage! That made things quite challenging too because they had to work around a slight sound delay! Prince never pushed Morris out at all! And it’s unfair you put it like that 😠 Prince and Morris had a great friendship and bond which I am sure he will talk about. They had many laughs together. Morris says the biggest thing he misses about Prince is his laugh so stop with the disrespect calling him rude! Prince wasn’t rude! He was a very respectful man actually. He only came down on people if they weren’t taking the music seriously, pissing around or not putting the work in! I’ve spoken to Morris myself so I know the relationship they had and it was a very close one! In fact one day Prince actually got down on his knees and kissed Morris’s hand and told him how much Morris meant to him…that’s a true story as well. I’m looking forward to hearing Morris, as he’s so lovely, funny and very entertaining and I will educate people as to what a great man Prince was. Sure he had his off moments … nobody is perfect! Generally he was a lovely, kind and generous human being and of course so talented that he was other worldly, but he was also Morris’s friend for 20 years 💜
@@SallyKinley-4prn - I don’t think you know much about Prince if you think he was a lovely guy to everyone. This is how he dealt with people who weren’t needed anymore. He sidelined them. Then they were gone. My question was in regards to this i.e. did this happen to Mr Hayes.
What was Prince’s reaction when Mayte fell off the swing during the opening to the Act II show in Edinburgh in 1993, during “My Name Is Prince”? Was he angry or did he laugh it off? I’m guessing she was fined.
I'm just making it up 😂 But I tend to just sing the notes in my head a split second before I play them, maybe someday I'll try to explain the concept as that's all it is really!
Prince didn’t rip off Joni Mitchell but she was a huge influence on him and on the two girls in The Revolution. That’s probably why you hear it. Joni actually met Prince and they were friends.

Why his so called friends were not there when he needed them the most. Sorry but true prince fans are still feeling salty that NO ONE was there for him. EYE i will drop the mic now, thank you in my "christopher tracy" voice. WTF?
In 1981, I saw Prince at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. I knew nothing about him but my friends said this diminutive rocker was going to be as big as The Stones.
