    You’re exactly right! Just this past week started calling dealers and got my hands on an EX Xline that’s arriving this week. Dealer is selling it at MSRP and all others around here are marking up. Big win!

      I almost pulled this off, but the Colorado dealership wouldn’t sell to me since I live in Utah :(

      @@StocktonK13 That's a bummer. Outside of the Salt Lake area you guys only have like one other dealer in UT correct? Not a lot of options in the rural parts of the US. I wish dealers wouldn't do that... One of Kia's growing pains.

      Is it the previous Telluride or the 2023 facelift?

    Appreciate all of the good info, much of it I hadn’t heard before in such detail. I placed an order for a new 2023 about a week or so ago a few days after you were able to build it on the Kia website (SX-P, non-X-Line or X-Pro, in Dark Moss/Gray interior). Unfortunately, I saw your video afterwards, but it sounds like I picked a decent dealership. They have always sold Tellurides at MSRP which I know I’m lucky to have just 50 miles away from me here in Iowa. I saw online that they are allocated 396 tellurides per year, which was more than most any of the other dealer in my area. Salesman told me up to a six month wait, but just texted me a few days ago and said he should have an update from KIA on my order by next week, which I’m hoping means he was able to get my order taken up by the factory already. If that is the case, you’re saying it takes around two months to actually get the Telluride built and sent to the dealership once they take up the order? Thanks

      Sounds like you have a good dealer. Depending on your location it can take a couple of months for delivery. It's possible they were just allocated one just like what you wanted and it's incoming. The other possibility is that their allocations increased (as Kia is committed to building more SX's) and they were able to fit your car in. My initial eta (dealer allocation for July) was supposed to be the end of August. It moved around stretching out as far as Nov 1st but then dropped back to around Oct 1st and then showed up 10 days early by surprise. So, mine was scheduled for build in July, went into body and paint at the end of August and I received it 4 weeks later. That was to Minneapolis, so there was rail transport involved. If you're close to the plant, delivery could be days from completion. If you're in Seattle, usually a few weeks.

      I know dealer stock has risen since I made this video due to high interest rates, but I've heard of this happening over the years. Most of the time, the vehicle is available because it has a market adjustment. Were you able to get it for MSRP?

    Well we placed a no money down , probably because this is our 3rd Kia from the dealership, Telluride EX , Midnight Lake Blue with Gray Leather Seat Trim. We like the lighter interior color, as we are retired, and don’t carry an army of young kids to sporting events . We place the order last November 11, 2022. No word yet, but I will be surprised if we hear about it by the beginning of July. We also ordered the AWD package and only the cargo cover. Maybe in a few months we will get word on the build date. This will be our 4th lease , as Kia will extend that until the new vehicle comes in. Thanks for the info. 👍👍

      Thanks for checking out the video! I wouldn't be surprised if you get it sooner than you think. That's a nice color combo. If they had made a blue for 22, I would've traded my 21 off. Just went over 50k miles on my EX-P, aside from a few minor things, it's been fantastic.
      Enjoy!

    Thanks for the video. Ordered a Telluride back in September 2021. Just told it’s about two months out now. Was offered a 2022 last month but we are excited about the xPro for new model year…and my wife wants the Jungle Green.

      Nice, sounds like your build is imminent. I drove everything on the market before and while I was waiting for mine. Two years into ownership, I still feel like it was worth waiting for. It's probably my favorite vehicle of all the ones I've owned. Enjoy yours, thanks for watching! Jungle Green looks sweet!

      I didn’t know if I would actually like the Jungle Green but the dealer called us a couple days ago as one came in and asked if we wanted to see it. I did like it…wife loved it.
      We’ve had several BMW cars and x5’s but I think I’m most excited for the Telluride…go figure.

    Great video - thanks for taking the time to do that. My wife and I have a 2023 SX-Prestige ordered.... our dealer told us that we might get our order picked up sooner by Kia if we put in for 2 or 3 color options that we would accept..... so I had him add a 2nd color scheme option..... will see!
    Also: Since you have owned your Telluride, I'd be curious if you are very happy with the unit over time, and would you buy one again? Any mechanical issues.... oil consumption..... etc? Thanks.

    • @fourwheelreviews
      @fourwheelreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! This was by far my most ambitious undertaking on youtube, so I appreciate the fact that you appreciate it. I got sucked into that world for two years, I felt like I could help people by making the video. Sounds like your dealer is trying to match your wants to a future allocation, and you're not actually placing a custom order. They could be waiting to see if a close match gets allocated to them this month before they place your order. That's speculation on my part, but I've never heard of color availability influencing wait times on a custom order.
      As far as the vehicle goes, I love it. It's probably my favorite of all the vehicles I've owned. I'd buy it again, but, I'm not a fan of the styling changes. I honestly like the LX because it doesn't have crazy wheels like the rest.
      No major mechanical issues with mine so far. I have just over 50k and I'm on my third set of rear shocks, my drivers headlamp frequently has moisture issues and I did have a number of exterior fit and finish issues with mine when I got it. But, no real mechanical issues to speak of. And aside from some wrinkled leather on the drivers seat, no interior or electronics issues to speak of. It's been dependable.
      I know someone who works at a Hyundai dealer in service, and they don't see many Palisades. (Same as Telluride) I'd say the most common mechanical issue with those are leaking radiators. Not much for oil consumption to directly answer one of your questions.

    Some very good strategies are mentioned here. My situation with ordering and waiting is likely unique, but it might be a good idea to look at different dealer options as I get closer to my own ideal time.

    • @fourwheelreviews
      @fourwheelreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, we didn't replace anything so we had the luxury of waiting until our situation was where we wanted it to be. I knew the wait was 4-6 months at the time so I ordered it before I was ready to buy. Gave me flexibility when my order showed up.
      Thanks for watching, it's a great vehicle.

    Different dealers are quoting different delivery times, one in CO said 6-8 months and another in CO said 3-5 months. Is it possible for one dealership to get quicker delivery times?

    What's the fuel economy that you are getting on your telluride?

    • @fourwheelreviews
      @fourwheelreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Better than I expected.
      I'd say I average 25 on the hwy. If I'm on two lane roads, usually 27-28mpg average. If I'm doing 70+ on the interstate it's probably 24 on average. A bad day on the interstate is 22, a good day is 28-29 depending on wind, etc. I've taken a couple of 500 mile trips recently (1/2 hwy & 1/2 interstate) and gotten 27+ for the trip pretty consistently.
      Around town, I probably average 18-22 depending on any number of variables.

    If we would all just not buy the Telluride for six months, we would be able to easily buy on the lot and at a discount from MSRP. Come on people, think of others and do not buy a Telluride until the middle of 2023! Thank you.

      Sadly, we can't even get people to stop paying $10k mark up. Although, interest rates may start taking care of these prices. Telluride will still be a tough get with the limited availability.

    Hyundai is dominating the ICE-vehicle and EV markets around the world. I'm a proud American and can remember brands line Buick, Pontiac, Saturn, Olds Mobile, Plymouth, Pontiac and more. I don't think Hyundai will ever be considered just a low-cost alternative vehicle anymore✌
