Your video and your effort is absolutely spot on. It is great to repair and make safe for future use. Although you should know that there is another possibility or shortcut without a big investment. I am the owner of the third model. I also solved these problems with the switches with a three-component spray that has everything needed for the micro switch to work. The foot switches worked immediately even if someone in the service department marked them as not working before me. Of course, I managed to arrange the other small microswitches used for parameterization in that way.
hi thx. yea cleaning it with contact spray. is also an option. i went the full repair way because at the time i wasn't thinking that contact spray could save it. any way you do it. will save the tonelab from the dumpster.

I just open mine to put the spur in place of the switch 1 cause it had issues and when i put it all together the lamp and the screen where only powered and the screen had only the backlight. Any help with this?

Did a maintenance job on my Tonelab LE today. The springs on the foot switches had compressed and was the main reason it was hard to select a patch on a couple of channels. Gave the switches a good clean with electrical lube and stretched the sprigs out. Also checked the micro switches on the amp, reverb banks ect and good news for me is that VOX changed them from the older 2mm top hats to longer 6mm. Cleaned them again with electrical lube and no replacements needed. Pretty simple job if you take your time and don’t loose the screws… No need to mod the foot switches yet..😬👍🇦🇺
@@jimmyjimmy951 good job, will check mine. mod for me was fun. and also will extend the Life. ill don't really trust the switches under the stomp box switches. but in anyway your doing it. maintenance on the vox tone lab is definitely needed, but after it. there so many sounds And possiblity's.
I have a Tonelab ST that just stopped working yesterday. Actually seems to be working just fine; I can even use the tuner...but no sound at all. Nothing. I've checked everything else - cables, guitar, other gear, etc. & it's definitely the Tonelab. But I have no idea what it could be. I just bought it used last year & love it...been using it almost daily since. & it's a huge upgrade from the junk Marshall amp I've been using for over 20 years; sounds much, much better, especially on recordings I've made. But no sound. At all. Does anyone know what the problem might be???
you mean the black "key" board part ? that one is harder to fix. the most luck you would have to buy a broken tone lab. if your not able to get it. try your luck with a 3d printer. when I was thinking about the repair of the menu buttons. I was thinking about mini momentary switches. but figured that they might be to big. and to much work. And they will stick out allot. and there isn't much space under need the metal plate and PCB for that kind of switch. it would be at least a thigh fit.
@@royrijpma yeah the up and down plastic parts fell off. I put the unit in my trunk one days and they were broken when I got it bout now I can't select stuff in the menu.

As far i can recall from my memory. for the SE, the expression are optical. and for the ST the paddle is with a encoder or pod. in the video below, it looks like a encoder. you have to open up the ST to see the pod. maybe a Dry solder joint or fix it with contact spray. or try to find a replacement part. see this link here. th-cam.com/video/_m9hXyOoYhI/w-d-xo.html

did you open it up? yo may get lucky and see that a wire has disconnected from the output jack.
My write button broke off and one of the down switches to change preset lol you think it still fixable?
