- We head down to Simply Surf Bus in Bristol to collect our XLWB Crafter with the now finished ATEK pop top roof installed.
This has transformed the look and usability of this Crafter. I can't thank the team at Dan, Ben and the Simply Surf Bus enough for squeezing us in.
So much more to come on this build. Victron system out, Clayton power in with solar panel on the atek pop top roof, 5G wifi to go back in, Volkswagen Grand California Bike rack to be installed, Scan Strut Atom 12v inflation pump to be installed in the back doors. Plus a lot whole lot more.
I hope you've enjoyed this short video. Plus do hit that like button, it means a lot.
Plenty more content to come.
As always thanks for watching.
That looks MEGA.
Love it when something is so vehicle specific that it looks seamless like that
yeah we're really pleased with it.
What a lovely bit of kit the seams look so good on the roof the finishing his A1 👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌🇬🇧
Yes we're really impressed with it
Looks awesome mate. Great bit of kit 👌
Thanks mate. Your build is coming along nicely I see.
Really nice job & a big improvement to the van, enjoy.
Yep, it's mega 😊
Very nice!
I’d’ve gone with a rearward facing with some kind of door to access a roof deck.
That would be awesome but Atek don't make one unfortunately
Looks amazing and what I have been thinking of for my multi-kid pack. Just needs a light bar on the front to make it perfect 😊
I don't need a light bar, I don't go off road as it's 2WD. I've also got THQ Crafter headlights with full LED bulbs :)

@@jamescollins4489 haha, always working 😃
Bloody lovely 😂
Thanks. We're well please.
@TransporterHQ 🤣🤣. Yes it's lovely but the clip you used of the guy in the vest was me.
Yeah I know. Thank you for the great clip. It appears yours clips are going viral :) @@BlueVanMan
Hey… can looks awesome, mine is booked in with dan and the team to be fitted. Could I ask a question, is there any chance you could measure the distance between the pop top and the roof rack please.. many thanks Luke
Epic job guys! I'm currently looking at getting my XLWB Transit done. Can i ask how much this was and where you are based please?
Absolute dreamer this bus, can’t wait for the rest of the updates!
I’ve put a golf wheel in my auto TGE, is it possible to get the paddles working with the auto box?
Oh I like ya jacket🤙🏽
Haha, thanks. Levi's
Yessssss, been waiting for this 😂
Sorry it took so long
Hell yes! That looks amazing, i think that’s sold me on going this route.
@@glennrowswell8707 do it 👊
looks mint that does. What are you doing with the vitron set up? selling it or putting it in something else? i may be interested.
Not sure yet. We may sell it.
Looking good. I was up there when your van was being worked on as I was looking at one of the vans.
Why the Clayton over the victron setup? I'm about to order my power set up but can't make up my mind which way to go!
Ease of install, cost, footprint within the van, weight, ease of understand what it going on with it all when in use. Clayton have the additional battery packs arriving in March. These will be a game charger to the large camper market.
Looks amazing is the canvas/fabric insulated?
No but we are working with a company to offer an insulated internal option
Why you ripping out victron
I want to replace it with a Clayton LPS 2 3000 with additional storage battery they are release very soon. This will give me more space and save weight.
What sort of cost was the installation of the pop top?
I'm not actually sure. Speak to the guys at Simply Surf Bus.
Hi Andy, bit off topic but where is your fleece from please?
Haha, its from Levis :)
Thanks 😊
Whatsize awning do you have fitted guys ?
I can't remember sorry 🫤
I thought there was a cost of living crisis
What does that even mean?

Oh I see. I think a lot of people see the investment in a Transporter / Crafter as an alternative to a family holiday aboard once / twice a year. For many it can become a long term investment and reduce their costs. Especially as the Transporter sized vehicle can also be used as a daily driver, so replacing an existing family vehicle. @@Ben-in6qh
