Thanks for the video. I like your spirit and attitude, there is a lot of kindness in the way you present your stuff. I am about to buy a Crafter 4 Motion in the few weeks to come. As a surfer and multi-sports in general, I was interested to see the way you organize your storage area. Keep enjoying life the way you do, it's inspiring!
Thank you 🙏 The cargo area started with the bike which also determined the height of the bed, basically the bike is stored on the passenger rear, there are drawers in the middle and a pull-out mini kitchen on the drivers side.
You've got me rethinking our Crafter project ladder issue now. I thought I wanted a spare tyre and a ladder on the back, but that meant I couldn't get a bike rack on. Now, if we climb up using the inside I can still get a tyre and a bike rack on there, I think! Thanks.
Thank for the van tour..I remember your earlier clips from WA in your transporter when you drove up that conveyor belt. You look like you're so at peace in your van. I envy your lifestyle. Next year for me. Thanks 😊
Great vid Billy! Same here, we have had VW diesels since 2008 and they are like bullets - as long as you do regular oil and filter changes. We just bought a big 4x4 as our needs are now changing with touring with a small van. Keep safe and take care buddy!
Really enjoyed the tour beautiful wagon and well thought out for your lifestyle :D I'm just working on a MWB high roof 2019 Crafter so loving the inspiration best wishes From Ireland Mikee
Hello, I really love your van and what you have done with it 👍🏻😊. We drive VW T5 multivan and when we buy it was convert to a campervan. I hope that someday we can upgrade to VW Crafter 😆.
Hi & thanks for the add! I’ll be building a small cabin on a friends property to stay in for 6 months & travel in the van/boat for the other 6. I’ll never rent or have a mortgage again.
Thanks for the update, I've been following your trips for a while and love all the places you can take a 4Motion. Do you have any underbody protection? Look forward to some more videos and inspiration for when mine finally arrives 🙂
Hi ! The underbody is well protected from factory and as far as I know the steel used in the construction of the van has better corrosion protection qualities than older cars.
thank you so much for sharing your home. You certainly have managed to pack a lot in. Do you have any regrets or plans to go bigger ?? My first build was an ex ambo. Didn`t really suit us with the outside shower and "emergency" toilet. Been looking at a 4x4 high roof but for the price I could do an NPS
Hi Mick, no regrets at all, the van was perfect for me traveling around Australia and exploring very remote places. I might look at building a coaster when im done exploring
Very impressive self build - well done! Love the front bar, but is the antenna mount illegal protruding forward as it is? Wonder if top LHS of the bonnet is a better location. 3 spares! - expecting some rotten luck? Impressive tire brackets, however - looking forward to your video on that.
@@SaltyGypsea Looking at a 4motion Crafter for my next build. We want the creature comforts plus the offroad ability, so following your ideas with much interest. Not many sensible Australian self build videos out there except yours. Very interested how a Vdub Crafter will cope offroad in the long term.
I enjoy watching your updates 👍 Thanks for sharing the helpful tips re. awning. I was wondering if you purchased the 270 XT MAX or 270 XT? Also does the awning make much noise travelling on the highway?
mate bravo on ya build, can you tell me what did you do about ya gas bottle umm you know with storage and venting or didn't you stress about it?, im asking as im about to get myself a van and just getting my duckies lined up before i start
Great informative video, can you please tell me more about your suspension upgrade which front springs and leaf springs did you get and where did you buy them? Thank you
The 270 degree awning is a hard find in Europe, which one are you using? I'd like to see them more but in there regions the straight pull out awning is common fare. Could a high roof (2.6m) long wheel base (6.83m) van work with a 270 awning? Great video by the way :)
I plan to go to Balbunya Dunes and Point Culver. Are you able to provide GPS coordinates for your entry and particularly the exit point from the beach and the steep existing on the rubber mats? Also, what is the easiest way to get to the top of Point Culner? Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Thank you in advance
Hi 👋 Point Culver is not shown correctly on Google Maps, its on the beach at the furthest part you can reach before it becomes cliffs. GPS coordinates are given in my videos. Tips: the terrain always changes and so must your tyres pressures & take a drone to locate tracks.

Brilliant work. Loaded with the best gear one can ask for
Many thanks!

Hi 👋, I hope that for you too.!
Well done mate, great content, keep going 🙏
Thanks, will do! ☺️
Very well done 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice mate! 👍
Thanks 👍
Depuis un roadtrip de 3 semaines de Sydney a Cairns l’AUTRALIE est une vraie obsession pour moi…❤
Thanks, thinking about a Crafter, all that info helps
Glad it was helpful!
nice video mate
Glad you enjoyed it
Could you live in your van forever ? Do you miss living in a house/unit…? New subscriber btw 😊
Also where did you get your door bug screen 😊

I’ll never rent or have a mortgage again.
Great content I love your spare wheel mounts. Also where did you the Dometic window in Aus??
Thanks 🙏
Window was through a caravan parts supplier in Lansvale NSW

Thanks for the support! Not sure about the antenna location...., Betty has been in some crazy places and the more spares the better.

Hi 👋 its a max. No noise at all.
@@SaltyGypsea Do you have a ladder to access the awning when deploying?
I was thinking of doing the same on my 4x4 sprinter…😀
Awsome!
Glad you think so!

Mounted under the van

All custom & explained in the video 😎
All Springs. Chuck it in google

Love the videos, which place in morebank did you use?
That workshop closed up
Can you stand upright in the low roof? Torn between low and hIgh roof? Live your setup
I can stand but not straight, I’m 1.7m.
Van is 4motion, floor is 100mm higher than front wheel drive
What model is your 4motion? MWB mid roof ? Looking to upgrade my T6 to an off road machine to chase waves and snow with 2 people.
Hello from the UK, Lovely info with your van. Could I ask , is it easy to stand up in the low roof, I am just under 6ft and not sure if I could.
Hi from AUS! Not in the 4Motion, its 100mm higher in the floor
Hi, how is the space inside the van after the vertical conversion? Have a nice day and thank you for your reply.
It's good, lots of space
Hi great info did you have to change your shocks when you did the leaves and springs? How much more GVM did you get and is it all legal?
Standard shocks, its legal but I didn’t need certification because the weight is still with specs.

so GPS for the track out for the rubber mats?
I also want to get to the top of point Culver, is it easy to find the track?
Hi Mate, really love your videos. Can you please tell me which company did you use for making new leaf springs suspension? Thank you so much 🙏
It was “all springs” but they closed shop.
Ohh no.., by any chance do you know anyone around Sydney area who can do the same job?
All Springs. They are still open just no work shop. He told me to put the word out his still operating. I found him on google. Legend guy 🤙🏻
Van tour starts at 5:21
Thanks
Hi mate do you know of anywhere that converts a FWD to the 4motion
I saw a video on TH-cam of a European company which makes a fulltime AWD kit, Probably start searching there.
You should’ve shown us how to setup the wrapped around awning 😒
Yes, I should have.
