Physics manipulation is much more difficult than Dark Souls, but that's mainly due to the fact that in DS, you're put at a disadvantage from the beginning, but with SMB, it's just you, your wit, your thumbs at the primary focus(to keep yourself on track), and your hopefully well enough understanding of physics & momentum. In summation, DS is purposely unfair, when SMB is entirely skill-based.
I thought watching this would be satisfying. Turns out it spikes my anxiety more than actually playing the game myself lol

U wont see much popularity for any stages except Excursion, Exam C, Tracks or Stamina Master.
I can't for the love of me complete level 7 of expert ever since I was little. And then to think I need to complete 47 more makes me cry.

@Lekk Lekk That's monkey ball 2. smb1 gives you infinite continues and in order to get to master you cant use continues.

I just tried to complete the expert levels for the first time and I had like 35 continues lol. It took me about 2 hours

No joke, excluding master level 7 is in the top 15 most difficult levels in the run, maybe even top 10
Because it was originally intended to be a master level.
Master 3 & 9 are a NIGHTMARE.
Because Exam-C is hell.
Fun fact: Master 3 was originally going to be Exam-C, and Expert 7 was going to be stamina master.

Actually, it was only shown that Exam C was Master 3. It doesn't necessarily mean they were swapped, Expert 7 could have been something new and Stamina Master would have not existed.
It’s true that Exam-C was set to be master 3, but that didn’t particularly mean that stamina master would be expert 7. They would’ve probably used or have created another easy stage for expert 7.
Still doesn't take away the fact that level 7 made me want to throw my remote out the window.

I am able to beat every level except Master 3, Master 5, Master 8 and Master 9 without dying. My childhood went to grinding this game.
Quick tip for stamina master (master 3) on the thin bridge, you can line yourself up perfectly if you look at the floor tiles. The line between the third and fourth squares should be what you are aiming for.

I have blurry memories of playing this game, alone and trying to with my mom since she was only ever rlly into the classic games I played as a kid, unfortunately nothing specific but I know for a fact I worked my way up as I grew up, dropped it after a bit though cause my memory cards were messed. Just ordered a new one FINALLY the other day, so I’m exited to get back into these games and actually make progress
1:38 that’s the level I hate the most I can never get pass it without falling off once that’s how far I can get without dying once

Donovan H. sadly that only applies to super monkey ball 2. in this one you really cant die at all in order to make it to extra stages and master ones :(
cool guy that rule only applies to beginner and advanced. In expert you are allowed to die, but not allowed to use a continue.
I'm a lot less confident on this version, try to count how many times I bonk on a goal post.

i can barely get to the extra levels in advanced mode but THIS is impossible i can never get past level 7 without losing a life same with that SEGA level
For the Expert levels, you just have to beat all 50 without using a continue if you want to progress to the extras. Same going into the the master levels. It's only for the beginner and advance levels where you can't die once. ProTip for anyone reading this.
Gabriel Lane the moment I learned that was the moment I realized I actually had a chance, and that’s what got me back into playing. It took several failures but I did eventually get to and beat Master. Might’ve died like 100+ times, but I beat it. 😂
@@FriendKevo I just saw this comment 9 months later, but I am so happy for you that you got to the Master floors! They are seriously challenging, but there is something fun and satisfying about being able to clear them. Especially Master 3 - spiraling down the slide at the end is my favorite part of the entire game!
@@GabeLane612 oh I never made it to the slide on Master 3, I used the “fling yourself off before the moving grid pieces and pray” strategy 😂
@@FriendKevo That also works, though a little too inconsistent for my taste ;) then again, beating Master 3 the long way is about as difficult of a task as the game provides. That, Master 9, and trying to cross the narrowest bridge in Expert 9 are all different forms of insanity.

I like @10:10 how the bananas you collect function the same way as Mario coins or in Sega's case, Sonic rings. I really liked the diner stages. I imagine the menu isn't very diverse...And for desert, banana pudding with Nilla Waffers :P

Actually it can. You need to beat expert. Extra without using continues and at least finish the mode.

Connor Gamer It wasn't used in Deluxe because of copyright reasons. I was upset as the extra music (space) was actually one of my favourites. In SMB2 the music sucks. The only one I like is boiling pot.

I find it wierd that Master doesn't show a little MA icon in the bottom left corner. There are even files for the icon but they're never used.
I do have to wonder what the initial strategy was on Roll Master. Because it looked a lot like you panicked and were just hoping to bounce into the goal.

I cannot do a Deathless Master myself, I always die on either Master 3 or 9...
But Ultra Heaven 5 is the hardest stage of all Super Monkey Ball games.

A common strategy in completing this level is to avoid landing on the colored pointy tiles as much as possible. This is best done with YanYan, the character with the highest jump rating in the game.
In the first half of the stage, the colored tiles can be avoided completely with YanYan by jumping from platform to platform of regular flooring that contain banana bunches, building speed and slowing down when necessary.
The next part of the stage is difficult, as you are faced with separate little platforms of colored pointy tiles with no other way around them. Here, you will have to hope for the best while jumping from platform to platform, trying to control your bouncing as much as possible (YanYan is best with this, again making her the best character with this level). After passing these platforms, try to land and keep your balance in the middle of a long strip of colored pointy tiled floor so you can walk between two of the pointy tiles without having to worry about bouncing around. Do this until you meet regular flooring that precedes the final part of the level.
The final part of the level involves an uphill slope with booster panels and pointy tiles on the surface of the slope. Here you will have to try your best to land on the booster panels and use it to jump up the slope in a way so your next landing will be on another, higher booster panel, otherwise you will be testing your luck with the pointy tiles. The goal will await at the top of this slope.
Peyton Reed Just search on YOutube for "Ultra Heaven 5". It is an unpredictable stage. You have to jump on these orange tiles at one point and they can launch you anywhere they want. It is very hard to predict exactly where to land.

Because falling off bonus stages also counts as beating them, and getting the bananas doesn't help in a deathless run so I'd rather not waste the time.
right Scrap, that's always what I do, even when I'm just doing a regular run. I immediately jump off the bonus levels cause I don't really care to collect bananas and its a waste of time. But man, I love this game. Amazing run!!

See, The bonus stages are just an easy way to rack up extra bananas which in turn gives you more lives for the harder levels. you don’t really need them if you’re good enough. or if you find the bonus stages to be fun you can do them anyway, I just don’t really care for them
But in Banana Blitz and beyond, falling out on a Bonus Stage resets the Clear Score (the number of normal stages consecutively completed without losing on a bonus stage in that streak).

Probably because if you fail them, there's no consequence other than losing the chance for extra bananas to get more lives, and getting lives is pretty much pointless in a no-death run.
I’ve Noticed When You Reach The Goal On Each Floor Level You go high into the air and you see the other floor in the sky while you’re on the floor that you complete.
And The Blue Goal Is The Main One Besides The Green Goal And Red Goal Makes You Skips Floors That’s Something You Can Finish Faster I Just Know It.

What's lazy about Expert mode in this game is that a lot of the stages are almost identical as Advanced, but added a few upgrades to make it seem harder, it doesn't make them creative, it just makes it lazy.
I don't know if I'll say that. But then again, I have yet to beat expert because.... Ugh.

That's the stupidest way to get to them, this is why I think Super Monkey Ball 2 did right, but having to go to the extra stages without getting a continue no matter what difficulty you're playing, but in this game, that concept only happens in Expert & Master.
