I have switch between both (vertical & horizontal) . For 2023, I'm going for half horizontal (1 page for the week and the other as a column for to do and one for note).
I hope to see one day a video about half horizontal

Horizontal planning for my homework to-do’s! I love the lines! I pretty much only write my homework in the weekly spreads and put my important dates in the monthly and dashboard spreads! ❤️❤️

I preferred horizontal over vertical because vertical just never seemed enough space to write in each small box. I just recently switched to hourly. I am not a very busy person so I never saw the need for hourly, but I use it to make to-do lists when I don’t have a time blocked out. It is working perfectly.

I started to using the EC horizontal planner for "All About Me. It's kind of like a scrapbooking but focuses on more of the journal part. The dates don't matter and usually white them out. I place each topic I want to write about in a box on the fully monthly spread along with a number. This number represents where you can find that particular topic.
    Love your content. Thanks 😊

My life has changed soo much within the last year and a half. I used to use a horizontal planner but since before the pandemic, I found that a daily planner works better for me. I use the day designer day planner and this is the first time in YEARS that I actually used one planner for the entire year. Since I am a college student at 2 schools, work full time, training a puppy, and my personal obligations, I'm able to focus on today's work without feeling stressed out when looking at everything in a weekly spread.

I'm loving this series! I'm a vertical girl through and through for planning but using the horizontal layouts for journaling is something I played around with this year, too and you're right, it's a perfect amount of space to jot down the day. glad I'm not alone!

I ❤ my EC Horizontal LifePlanner!!! I’m #Teamhorizontal I love the horizontal layout because I can add stickers(especially the EC customizable stickers) to my spread and add/delete any events, tasks, or to do’s as they come. I’m a functional AND a decorative planner and the horizontal layout let’s me be both productive and funky/fun at the same time. The funny thing is most of my previous planners before the ECLP were vertical, but with no stickers at all!! Horizontal works for me for functionality, creativity(well all layouts do that 😅), productivity, and planning my days and weeks far in advance to make my life easier!!!

For me I write pretty big and it helps me….also I can’t write straight so the lines help keep it neat. Finally, I started planning on a mead academic so horizontal just goes with my brain! I use the ECLP as my household financial planner and the EC Academic for work.

I just got a horizontal for the first time this year (EC flora) and it's a match made in heaven! I use checkbox stickers for 2 sections of work to-do's, the unlined area is for personal/fun and I decorate with washi and stickers! I love your journaling idea. I might do that on the weekend as I don't have work to-do's those days! Journaling freaks me out too so that'll be a good start!

I use a Simplified weekly, but I've used a horizontal planner for probably 10 years because I love that they typically have lines that keep my planner looking neat. I will often break the sections into two columns - one for events/timed things and the other for to dos (exactly how the Simplified is laid out).

Just came across your vid/channel when looking for layout ideas. Subbed!
I have a Plan Ahead See It Bigger horizontal planner that I randomly got a Walmart this spring. I've been inconsistent with planning/journaling over the years. But this year I've made it a deliberate part of each day. I like the horizontal because most of my life is unscheduled. I work from home. I homeschool my kids. I do cover my planner in copious amounts of stickers. I even have some that are hourly stickers which I can put in if I want to time block a specific day. The only thing I don't like about the planner I have is the spiral binding and all the negatives with that. But after tutorials on TH-cam I'm about to convert it to disk bound.

I love the horizontal layout! Vertical layout hates me! I think the vertical layout is just too chaotic for me visually. Even though it looks so pretty when I see how people decorates the no white space in their planner; my brain gets scrambled with the vertical planning because its just too much. I love dashboard layout & horizontal layout the best. TFS Be Blessed.

I beg to differ on your statement that you’ll be wanting to spend a lot of time with your planner, whatever it is: perhaps it’s my engineering mindset and tech career, but I assert that the more time and energy (mental or otherwise) required for planning, as well as the tools involved, the less valuable it becomes for the hassle.
I just came across your channel minutes ago, as I’m doing research for creating a digital system, and I’m interested in learning how people are accustomed to setting up/using planners, and why, whatever they are, digital or analog. My professional paid work has all kinds of randomizations that happen, including plans being merely a friendly suggestion/unrequited dream some days because of all the unplanned/unplannable interruptions, and one of the thoughts I have, besides the observation that for some things, journaling isn’t necessary, while other things, it is, is the amount of space you have available for whatever it is you have planned out, can get rather dicey to deal with if your schedule is either too dense to easily write in the space, or you need to journal. I’ve got thoughts for an imperfect system for paper, but if I’m to have something I can use for work, it needs to be electronic records and all personal as well as business stuff needs to be ultimately tracked in one place somehow.

I made my own digital planner, I even made a template for each just in case I end up wanting to use a different layout but no. I've always just found comfort (and efficiency) in planning horizontally. 😊
