    17:52 one way to track your time is... Plan your day like you did, then with a different colored pen or highlighter, mark the time you actually start and the time you finish each task. This will show you immediately where you are over/under the estimated time. 💖🌞🌵😷

    • @PlanningwithBumble
      @PlanningwithBumble  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea! I actually started using an online time tracker tool

    • @suzisaintjames
      @suzisaintjames ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PlanningwithBumble I would think planning AND using a digital time tracker would be labor intensive. This analog method is not. You have to look at your plan any way, so all you have to do is mark your start time. If you use a digital planner, you could make duplicate events and then adjust the duplicate to reflect the actual event. You really need a planned event and an actual event to be able to evaluate and adjust your scheduling techniques. Having the info on the same page makes it easier to see any differences. 💖🌞🌵😷

    • @PlanningwithBumble
      @PlanningwithBumble  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@suzisaintjames yep it makes sense but this tool is very easy, just hit a button sto stop and start, and then it saves them all so you can compare times. I like it! I am someone who uses paper and digital combined.

    I love my 4 month planners. I am a busy stay at home mom. Who is in school full time and i work 2/4 weekends and 16 hours a month at my externship. Between my jobs and the kids activities and school and my social and gym life. This daily layout is the best for me. I get the fitness extension and meal plan extension and if I need I’ll add a few extra extensions for Christmas and for vacations. Love it.

    11:32 a lot of planners have the top 3 for the day, but I like the Franklin method where you can prioritize your tasks right on the to-do list... by 'A' must do today, 'B' would be nice if done today and 'C' I'm lucky it gonna get today. So in the left margin of the task list you write A1, for your highest priority task. A2, for the next, etc., then the B1, B2 etc., then the C'c. This way it saves me time rewriting the tasks, but I could use that box for personal tasks or an affirmation or prayer. 💖🌞🌵😷

    I played around using the butterfly dailies and finally settled on using it as a weekly to do list spread. The left page is work, right page is personal, saves me a lot of copying, etc. Most of my tasks are big tasks so I can only do two or three a day and this seems to work perfectly for that. The fact that you re an ADHD planner is one of the things that keeps me coming back. (That and your wacky sense of humor, because I relate to that too!) 17:52 whilst time blocking I always have little, short term projects ready to squeeze in if I get done early. There's studies that show that a task always takes up more time than you schedule. Your subconscious automatically knows when to stretch a half-hour task into a 60-minute time slot. So by having fill in tasks I manage to get more done. 💖🌞🌵😷

    For my work planner, I have:
    Top 3
    Phone calls
    Auths
    Random To-Dos
    But I really like the idea of timing myself. It's really easy for me to get distracted, i'm basically the go-to for a lot of people on different teams because I know a lot of different tasks. I'm thinking of timing those questions for a time when i'm not swamped.

    11:10 when I have two categories (business/personal) and one to-do list. I'll start business at the top down and personal bottom up. (Instead of skipping a few lines...that way there's plenty of room to add more tasks in the space between... there's no lines wasted.) That way I don't have to sort the list twice. 💖🌞🌵😷

    Question: I currently use a bound B5 dot grid planner. I love being about to set it up for what I need however, I can’t add or move pages easily. I’m not “hard” on my planner but it has fallen out of the car and ended up at the bottom of a bag. I worry about the discs coming loose and all the pages coming out if it is dropped or snagged on something inside a bag. I would love to be able to add a page to the planner and then be able to move it to the next week/month. My planner doesn’t sit on a desk all day. It travels all over with me. Will it hold up and discs/pages not come loose?

    • @briannab5296
      @briannab5296 ปีที่แล้ว

      I left the discs system and went back to ring bound recently. I use regular ring bound paper but if there are pages I want to move from week/month to the next I cut a slit at each hole of the paper. It still stays nicely on the rings. Sort of a hybrid disc/ring system. If your planner binder has a strap closure it will help papers to stay put if the binder gets dropped or at the bottom of a bag.

    • @briannab5296
      @briannab5296 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like stickers just as much as everybody else, but no matter how much they do or don't cost I too feel like they are being wasted on daily/weekly pages .. I'll use them on more permanent pages like checklists I need to keep on hand all the time .. but I have discovered it's mostly the colors that add life to my planners so i use colored pencils to just lay some colors around on the page. Colored pencils last nearly forever so I get much more use out of them than one-use stickers. I'm not artistic at all so I don't make artful masterpieces with them, only add some pops of color to my daily planning and I get the same 'thrill' from them as I do from expensive stickers.
