Once your alchemy is a high enough level go after as many of those damned crimson nirnroots in blackreach and grab as many as you can within reason with the green thumb perk active to save a lot of time, then if you’ve done everything you could and are just annoyed with the quest it’s time to do the duplication glitch and save one or two to plant in case you ever wanted to plant one crimson nirnroot to farm as well as regular nirnroot to farm invisibility potions since that could be useful to never need to go seeking out for ingredients for invisibility again if you absolutely refuse to spec into illusion magic. Tbh though even if not keeping 1 crimson nirnroot as a trophy for succeeding in that damn quest is worth it, also that special ability you get to craft two potions every 4 potions is really useful for making a lot more money with the paralysis poisons that I was telling you about. Also I know all of this because of major slack attack he’s a beast and you need to watch his playthroughs if you haven’t yet or pointer videos at least

Guys there is faster way to glitch 1. Drop items u want to duplicate 2. Tell follower to pick it up and fast travel 3. When u fast travel back DO NOT PICK UP DUPLICATED ITEMS just tell follower to pick it up again and then just fast travel again SO THIS WILL SAVE U TIME SO U DONT NEED TO DROP ITEMS ALL THE TIME

one time, I killed a skeleton, and it had the book "The Doors of Oblivion". When I left its inventory however, the book duplicated. Every time I entered it's inventory, it had one more book than before. So I duplicated those books until I got 42, and put them all on my book shelves.
I’m almost certain I had the same thing with the same book except the skeleton was already dead on an alter. Each time I went in to the inventory and took the doors of oblivion it respawned in there!
that is a very well known "glitch" in the game, been around since the games first incarnation. The inventory reset timer was set to 1 second, I assume by mistake, and so every second it resets and spawns in another copy of the book. its an easy but very slow ay of becoming super rich by selling like 1000 copies of the book all over skyrim.
@@bluexatruch Basically yeah. The skeleton in question is on an altar somewhere, near the Statue of Azura I think. There are a couple of other skeletons that come to life when you get near it so Im guessing thats where the op was getting confused thinking he had killed it. You simply search the skeleton, take the book. Then you search and take it again. You can repeat this an unlimited number of times. The book is worth 50 gold if I recall so you would need to take a ton of then to get rich.
Best use for this imo is a combination of making ingots duplicate and duplicating the black star. The black star weighs nothing so you can literally making infinite of those and then use that to enchant the stuff you make with ingots and then sell it. Leveling up three skills once (blacksmith, speech, and enchanting). Can do the same thing with alchemy ingredients as well.
Do you guys also want infinite gold? Bring 3+ East Empire Pendants and clone those, and then you can clone them 80 at a time (to avoid crashing) and sell them for 500 each to Fethis in Solstheim. Literally level 5 character and I had 200k gold by the end of my glitch exploitations.
Or you could just used eorland gray mane chest exploit by waiting evey 2 days, talk to him and open his chest should re-stock all of his item even gold.. You can do this right straight out to helgen instead of lock picking an expert lock.
Quick FYI to everyone, do not do this in your house. When I did, for some reason it would mark half of the items that duplicated into Stolen. And then my follower wouldn't pick it up. After I picked them up, they all were titled Stolen and then I turned them into Gold Rings. So keep this process outside your home lol

I'd like to note that there is a small room outside the door into whiterun, I've found it much handier to do this inside there than whiterun, because people dont pick the stuff back up😂
Haha, well that would explain why I never once reached 100 smithing without mods. I'd reached level 100 in every other skill except for alteration, restoration, and destruction. Getting ready to see if this works. Having a dragonborn warhammer at a lower level will probably be a big "Fuck you and your entire health bar" to almost every enemy in the early stages of the game.
@@thebad2016 the only thing to remember is to do it with several items. Like 8-10. Singles don't dupe well. Dude the ingots, make some rings, and you should be set.
Don't duplicate potions, the process works fine but, after a while they'll disappear from your inventory. Tested this twice. Safe way to get infinite potions is just to dupe the ingredients to make the potions. *EDIT* By potions, I mean the insane ones you cook, such as the "Increases smithing skill by 100000%" those will disappear from your inventory after a while. I duped 25 of them and I left the building, looked in my inventory and I was back to only having one.

They revert to their default when they leave your party. Once you go into their menu and either take something or give her something she changes back into inventory gear
When you go back into white run you can have your companion pick up the the items, you can then leave again and it will duplicate them back on the ground

SAME QUEST! Imagine my pain as a first-timer: I picked up Madesi's quest RIGHT after smithing half a dozen gold and sapphire necklaces with the flawless beauties I had saved up. There is ONE more place I can reliably get one without making my good boi steal it... so this glitch is perfect!
I love that you say the glitch still works in 2021 like its some amazing thing they still have not fixed. The game has NEVER been updated since the release of Dragonborn. The game got its last update with that DLC and that was it. EVERY glitch that worked in 2012 still works today. Just saying. Hopefully SAE will include all the bug fixes we have asked for in the last 10 years.
Yeah I put that in sorta as a joke. Some people catch it. The only patch I remember is the one where Clairvoyance would no longer find the red Nirnroot in Blackreach.
Works on ps5 as of 2024. I think i broke my game by duping 300 gold ingots and now im stuck on an infinite loading screen when i enter whiterun 😂. Is there any fix?
I’m pretty sure that was one of the only glitches they took the time to patch. They don’t care if you duplicate tens of thousands of pieces of iron, but they do seem to care if people can duplicate the Ogma Infinium.

If u do this in the little rooms just inside Whiterun ,to the left and right u can go quicker... And if u drop items in the room just outside of Whiterun ...next to the steps, at the same time ...it works great.
Why this does not work for me? The duplicated item (Jarrin Root) is in Lydia Inventory and not on the ground.. Did I missed something? 1. I drop the item on the road in front of breezehome 2. Command Lydia to grab it 3. Leave the gate/fast travel 4. Go Back...but no dropped item found..
I'm away from my system ATM, but I would say make sure you tell her to wait, then maybe go talk to an NPC, and finally try to do the command portion to get her to pick them up. Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
she may think theres something blocking her way (if you mean she doesnt follow the command) so try a different location. for the hell of it, maybe try a diff follower and item too, she may think shes overencumbered or it may just be her character
I do it when I’m tired of grinding up another character because I’ve been away too long and don’t wanna scrounge or brave a ruin for metal. I’ve had likely close to 50 or a hundred characters throughout the years. Dwarven metal gathering is older than nurn itself at this point🤪
Good... I want to turn dragon bone and dragon scale into armor and weapons a LOT faster. Edit: good. I can make dragon plate armor dragon scale armor sets then enchant each piece WITHOUT having to hunt like 25 dragons.

I used to as well... until I noticed it was just too overpowered to be resistant to magic of every kind capable of carrying a few hundred pounds of crap able to breathe/walk on/in water as well as have a mace do both fire and life steal a bow that does both fire and soul trap. Didnt even mention the rings and necklace of increased boosts to shit like armor one handed marksmanship alchemy stealth and conjuration... not like conjuration needed it being at 100 with 2 flame thralls. Both permanent until killed or resummoned.
Just be weary of trying to duplicate stuff you stole. Lydia and Faendal were fine picking it up most of the time but I have had a few times where they refused to pick it up. Picking it back up and dropping it fixes it most of the time for me. I'm also on Xbox One though.

Hey this work but you don’t have to pick up your stuff just keep telling your follower to pick the stuff up and leave and return. It’s saves a lot of time. Got hundreds of soul gems and ingots in about an hour and am now 100 smithing and enchanting!!!
When I drop of stack of let's say 10 gold ore, I go through the process yet when I pick the items back up it'll go from 10 gold or to one, same with what the follower is holding.
Dude it isn't working I did everything u said and what the comments said but its no use I come back and my follower is standing there in the middle of whiterun with the stuff in her inventory. I don't get it what am I doing wrong
You need the DLC for this to work, it seems. Hearthfire to be exact. They tweaked some follower options in that one which allowed this exploit. Also, you need a couple of each item, I do like 6 or more per item.

I fast travel to spot A drop items have companion pick them up the fast travel to spot B drop more have comp pick them up and then go back and forth having comp pick up everything every time lol

I’ve tried it but I have all the creation club mods installed and it doesn’t work with the fish ingredient or anything else I don’t wanna walk all the way back to buy more
@@ArtisLeeroy not as efficient as this but I figured it out instead of fast traveling or going through a loading screen you have to completely go to the start menu screen and load back into the game or travel so far for a while then come back to it and it should be there however sometimes an item or two might go missing but not a big deal
Usually has to be multiple items to start. I do gold bars and giant toes with like 5-7 each, minimum. It might work if you throw it in with other items.
I often find when I do this over and over the amount of items on the ground progressively gets smaller and smaller. Such as 15 to 12 to 8 to 5 any ideas on how to fix?
Ive done the duplication glitch many many times and for some reason it just does NOT for azhidals mask. I wanted to do the item stacking glitch to increase fire damage but Nope!
If you want to duplicate hundreds of items that would take forever And the townsfolk or start stealing your stuff. And Once you duplicated 300 or 400 items It could've freeze your game When do we go through the gate. On the other side of the gate is a Large empty room. The extra space will Allow you to Organize your stuff. To your gems of sight. Here's How you duplicate large quantities. No matter how many items you want to go to Duplicate Only carry 20 in your inventory max. Because the more items you have in your inventory the longer it ta tekes to drop individually. Now you should be carrying 20 items you want to duplicate. You still have to drop them individually. Or once you dropped the last one Have your partner picked him up just like you did before. Once he finished picking them le up. Tell him you want to trade with him again And take another 20 Now drop those individually like you did before. Ask him to pick them up a 3rd time. 3 is the maximum times you can do this. Now you can go run to the gate and then run right back back. Now you'll have almost 60 items on the ground. Don't you touch them Ask your partner to pick them up.so They will duplicate. them again. Now drop and pick up 3 groups of 20 again. Rents and repeat. If you get too many items on the ground The game is free as you're walking up to it. The cure is to Walked into the room backwards Without looking at your treasure And start picking up stuff Eventually you will pick up enough stuff that you don't won't get a lock out.
Hey was a bit confused I apologize but i was trying this with a talos amulet and it wasnt working i would walk back in and she would have it but there wouldnt be any on the floor, i checked some other comments and didnt find anything. I would say, make sure to drop several items, like ingots, as well. It seems to work better with multiple items. Unique items may not duplicate, though.
I can't get it to work :( I'm on Xbox 360 and do everything as instructed. make follower wait, drop the stuff, have them pick up the stuff, I leave whiterun and then come back and nothing is back on the ground. I've tried having her pick it up multiple times, or fast traveling, tried with a different follower, and nothing works :/
so the suddenly re-appearing ingots are fun and all but why the F does she suddenly look like she's in a completely different armor set just because you left the city and came back???
Wish you could put things in a container and have follower take all and then take from follower put in container again and do that a few times and then exit cell and come back and items are duped in container. Eliminating the pick items up from the ground one at a time it's slow
@@ArtisLeeroy drop items one at a time have follower pick one at a time. When your smashing the button and accidently click on the follower. You just want them to shut up and go back to picking up your stuff. Drop one at a time in a container and then have follower take all would be to easy. Removes stolen tag is all that does.

I made 300 gold rings to max smithing then duplicated black soul gems to enchant those 300rings lmao for max enchantment /smithing

I am likely gonna use this method to level up my smithing on Xbox One because I dont have the patience for the transmute mineral ore spell.
That's the secret method we've used for almost a decade. Make sure to sell or get rid of all those gold rings. They start to stack up after a while.
Haha, well that would explain why I never once reached 100 smithing without mods. I'd reached level 100 in every other skill except for alteration, restoration, and destruction. Getting ready to see if this works. Having a dragonborn warhammer at a lower level will probably be a big "Fuck you and your entire health bar" to almost every enemy in the early stages of the game.
@@thebad2016 the only thing to remember is to do it with several items. Like 8-10. Singles don't dupe well. Dude the ingots, make some rings, and you should be set.

Don't duplicate potions, the process works fine but, after a while they'll disappear from your inventory. Tested this twice. Safe way to get infinite potions is just to dupe the ingredients to make the potions.
*EDIT*
By potions, I mean the insane ones you cook, such as the "Increases smithing skill by 100000%" those will disappear from your inventory after a while. I duped 25 of them and I left the building, looked in my inventory and I was back to only having one.

They revert to their default when they leave your party. Once you go into their menu and either take something or give her something she changes back into inventory gear
When you go back into white run you can have your companion pick up the the items, you can then leave again and it will duplicate them back on the ground
Yuuup. I did it the slow way just to demo. After about 6 trips in and out, it can/might/will crash depending on what items are dropped.
May 16th 2022. Still works and good news! You don't have to make him stand in the middle of the road where NPCs will constantly knock your items all over the place, you can play some right in front of that drunken Huntsman sign.

SAME QUEST! Imagine my pain as a first-timer: I picked up Madesi's quest RIGHT after smithing half a dozen gold and sapphire necklaces with the flawless beauties I had saved up. There is ONE more place I can reliably get one without making my good boi steal it... so this glitch is perfect!
I love that you say the glitch still works in 2021 like its some amazing thing they still have not fixed. The game has NEVER been updated since the release of Dragonborn. The game got its last update with that DLC and that was it. EVERY glitch that worked in 2012 still works today. Just saying.
Hopefully SAE will include all the bug fixes we have asked for in the last 10 years.
Yeah I put that in sorta as a joke. Some people catch it. The only patch I remember is the one where Clairvoyance would no longer find the red Nirnroot in Blackreach.

Works on ps5 as of 2024. I think i broke my game by duping 300 gold ingots and now im stuck on an infinite loading screen when i enter whiterun 😂. Is there any fix?
I only do a couple at a time, for this very reason. Gotta backtrack a save file or two.
Of course it works, Bethesda didn't patch any bug after LE, so the bugs will work even with anniversary edition

I’m pretty sure that was one of the only glitches they took the time to patch. They don’t care if you duplicate tens of thousands of pieces of iron, but they do seem to care if people can duplicate the Ogma Infinium.

If u do this in the little rooms just inside Whiterun ,to the left and right u can go quicker... And if u drop items in the room just outside of Whiterun ...next to the steps, at the same time ...it works great.

Why this does not work for me?
The duplicated item (Jarrin Root) is in Lydia Inventory and not on the ground..
Did I missed something?
1. I drop the item on the road in front of breezehome
2. Command Lydia to grab it
3. Leave the gate/fast travel
4. Go Back...but no dropped item found..
You should try several items at once. Try adding several iron ores or something else cheap. Once there are several, it may work.
Jarring Root is a rare item, however, and it may not duplicate like other common items.
Lydia won't pick my items up, any thoughts?
I'm away from my system ATM, but I would say make sure you tell her to wait, then maybe go talk to an NPC, and finally try to do the command portion to get her to pick them up. Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
she may think theres something blocking her way (if you mean she doesnt follow the command) so try a different location. for the hell of it, maybe try a diff follower and item too, she may think shes overencumbered or it may just be her character

I do it when I’m tired of grinding up another character because I’ve been away too long and don’t wanna scrounge or brave a ruin for metal. I’ve had likely close to 50 or a hundred characters throughout the years. Dwarven metal gathering is older than nurn itself at this point🤪

Good... I want to turn dragon bone and dragon scale into armor and weapons a LOT faster. Edit: good. I can make dragon plate armor dragon scale armor sets then enchant each piece WITHOUT having to hunt like 25 dragons.
I did the same. Waiting to get double enchants before I go full dragon armor.

I used to as well... until I noticed it was just too overpowered to be resistant to magic of every kind capable of carrying a few hundred pounds of crap able to breathe/walk on/in water as well as have a mace do both fire and life steal a bow that does both fire and soul trap. Didnt even mention the rings and necklace of increased boosts to shit like armor one handed marksmanship alchemy stealth and conjuration... not like conjuration needed it being at 100 with 2 flame thralls. Both permanent until killed or resummoned.
I hate to say it but as of December 29th at 4:56 p.m. on the Xbox series x anniversary upgrade edition this duplication glitch still works.

Just be weary of trying to duplicate stuff you stole. Lydia and Faendal were fine picking it up most of the time but I have had a few times where they refused to pick it up. Picking it back up and dropping it fixes it most of the time for me. I'm also on Xbox One though.

@@jetpaq it sometimes will not work with unique items. It tends to work better on multiple dropped items, but it can't hurt to try.

Hey this work but you don’t have to pick up your stuff just keep telling your follower to pick the stuff up and leave and return.
It’s saves a lot of time. Got hundreds of soul gems and ingots in about an hour and am now 100 smithing and enchanting!!!

you can keep having your mate pick the items up, go right back outside then back in and it will keep duplicating them

I always thought the Inventory of my Follower (Order to Pick the Items from the ground) was full so she didnt picked the Items up (in Caves)
When I drop of stack of let's say 10 gold ore, I go through the process yet when I pick the items back up it'll go from 10 gold or to one, same with what the follower is holding.
You have to drop them 1 by 1
U have to individually drop pieces. So if u got 60 pieces, gotta do 60 individual drops.

You need the DLC for this to work, it seems. Hearthfire to be exact. They tweaked some follower options in that one which allowed this exploit. Also, you need a couple of each item, I do like 6 or more per item.

Let's take a moment to appreciate how this guy basically caught COVID-19 and just brushed it off as 'allergies'.
I wish I was built like that. I got tested several times that month, no positive tests, so I got lucky or the tests suck.
Check to make sure this isn't inflating your save file. It doubled mine after 500 ingots. If that doesn't reset, it could screw your save.
I never go full tilt when using this method, so I never experienced that. Good lookin out. Thanks!

I usually just do a bunch of ingredients and stuff. The weapons can get OP through the restoration loop.

You can do that. I just did the basic version with no additional repetitions. There is a point where it might crash, though.

I fast travel to spot A drop items have companion pick them up the fast travel to spot B drop more have comp pick them up and then go back and forth having comp pick up everything every time lol

I’ve tried it but I have all the creation club mods installed and it doesn’t work with the fish ingredient or anything else I don’t wanna walk all the way back to buy more
You can do the quick save trick on merchants to get ingredients quick. Just QS, hit the merchant, reload the save, and their inventory is reloaded.
@@ArtisLeeroy not as efficient as this but I figured it out instead of fast traveling or going through a loading screen you have to completely go to the start menu screen and load back into the game or travel so far for a while then come back to it and it should be there however sometimes an item or two might go missing but not a big deal

Usually has to be multiple items to start. I do gold bars and giant toes with like 5-7 each, minimum. It might work if you throw it in with other items.

I often find when I do this over and over the amount of items on the ground progressively gets smaller and smaller. Such as 15 to 12 to 8 to 5 any ideas on how to fix?
I've seen that, I think because not all items dupe, then less and less when you repeat. I manually put out like ten each round.
Ive done the duplication glitch many many times and for some reason it just does NOT for azhidals mask. I wanted to do the item stacking glitch to increase fire damage but Nope!
Some of the unique items just won't work. It's a bummer.
You can just always do the glitch for gold if your using this for money. I have 32k but I'm tryna dupe supplies to make daggers

This one was clean. No mods. Just the Xbox One Special Edition.
I've had 2 bugged quests already on this new playthrough.
If you want to duplicate hundreds of items that would take forever And the townsfolk or start stealing your stuff.
And Once you duplicated 300 or 400 items It could've freeze your game When do we go through the gate.
On the other side of the gate is a Large empty room.
The extra space will Allow you to Organize your stuff.
To your gems of sight.
Here's How you duplicate large quantities. No matter how many items you want to go to Duplicate Only carry 20 in your inventory max. Because the more items you have in your inventory the longer it ta tekes to drop individually.
Now you should be carrying 20 items you want to duplicate.
You still have to drop them individually.
Or once you dropped the last one Have your partner picked him up just like you did before.
Once he finished picking them le up. Tell him you want to trade with him again And take another 20 Now drop those individually like you did before.
Ask him to pick them up a 3rd time. 3 is the maximum times you can do this. Now you can go run to the gate and then run right back back.
Now you'll have almost 60 items on the ground. Don't you touch them Ask your partner to pick them up.so They will duplicate.
them again.
Now drop and pick up 3 groups of 20 again. Rents and repeat.
If you get too many items on the ground The game is free as you're walking up to it.
The cure is to Walked into the room backwards Without looking at your treasure And start picking up stuff Eventually you will pick up enough stuff that you don't won't get a lock out.

I'm on Xbox 360 and do everything as instructed. make follower wait, drop the stuff, have them pick up the stuff, I leave whiterun and then come back and nothing is back on the ground. I've tried having her pick it up multiple times, or fast traveling, tried with a different follower, and nothing works :/
My first guess is to make sure you leave the conversation/menu before leaving town. Past that, I got no clue, sorry.

Does it only work with Lydia or certain items? I'm trying to duplicate saarthal amulet with Faendal and it won't work.
Some unique items it will not work. However, if you try dropping some ingots as well as the amulet, it seems to work better. More items = better odds.

I did this for nirnroots, it worked about 3 times, then they stopped appearing on the floor when I returned.
Build up a good amount, like 8 or 9, then refresh the process. There are diminishing returns when you do it multiple times.

It works with "normal" followers. Pretty much any character that can carry items.
Ive tried this multiple times and It hasnt worked.
Im using Xbox 360 with vanilla Skyrim and no mods. (Im not brave enough to try to mod my console)
It may actually be dependent on having the DLC. That's the theory out there. Mine was the LE version with DLC, but no mods.

Not any item, but most items. Some unique items will not duplicate. And if you carry around duped items, they may disappear.

They return to their default armor if they stop following you. Ig once the game reloaded Lydia, her armor updated.

Wish you could put things in a container and have follower take all and then take from follower put in container again and do that a few times and then exit cell and come back and items are duped in container. Eliminating the pick items up from the ground one at a time it's slow
You can also leave and come back several times without picking up the items after they dupe. Speeds up duping, but save often.
@@ArtisLeeroy drop items one at a time have follower pick one at a time. When your smashing the button and accidently click on the follower. You just want them to shut up and go back to picking up your stuff. Drop one at a time in a container and then have follower take all would be to easy. Removes stolen tag is all that does.
