Very nice coverage! Fundy Rose has a big bellow. I like her interior, still clean and well maintained. Good timing as well because it was a clear day during your trip, most of the time Saint John, NB is hammered with fog. I love your videos most specially the ferries that plies NB and neighboring provinces.
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the coverage of FUNDY ROSE. I was indeed fortunate to have clear weather in Saint John. Your continued interest in my videos, particularly those focusing on the NB ferries and neighboring provinces, truly means a lot. I look forward to sharing more maritime journeys with you. Happy watching! 🚢🌊🌞📹
I stayed for about 4 years in Saint John for work, and never quite got the chance to ride this ferry. Another visit is planned in a month's time and we plan to hop on for a day return trip. Awesome video there.
I've been on this ferry and will again soon. Not as big it's 2 predecessors and you really feel it walking around. The trip across the bay has always been fun, that one time it was also a bit scary. The drive out from Digby to Brier Island is also scenically one of the best I've done.
Nice to see one of the more modern ferries in these waters. Shall we expect that next episode of your Canadian adventure will be about UFO hunting…😉 Thanks for sharing Carsten and have a nice evening! // Bertil.
Well... instead of UFO hunting in the next episode there will be a "space" ship called ALAKAI, which connects Canada and USA. Thanks for your feedback, Bertil, and have a good start into the week!
The Shag Harbour Incident. Was it a UFO, a Russian or American spy system, what was actually seen by the divers off the shore at Barrington. Not just witness by a bunch of drunken sailors, 3 RCMP officers.
It's actually really disturbing to see the current state of the Fundy Rose for us, Greeks. It used to be flawless when it was in Greece, without rust, for sure. I travelled on Blue Star Ithaki more than 30 times and they haven't changed almost anything in the interior, according to the footage. The big question is, though, isn't it required by Canadian Law to keep the vessel to a presentable condition? Doesn't anyone care? Ithaki was one of the most iconic vessels in Greece and it wasn't that old when it was sold.
The fundy rose ex. Blue star ithaki traveling of the greek aegean and travel to syros tinos mykonos, bye bye blue star ithaki good travels of the canada 🇨🇦
Thank you very much! BC has definitely been one of my dream destinations for years and is high on my wish list. For me as a German, however, it unfortunately takes a lot of time (and also money) to travel there, which is why such long-distance trips are rarely realistic at the moment. I have just experienced Canada now (I could already go there again, I really love it with all my heart), which is why I suspect it won't happen until 2024 or the following years. But I will travel to BC, that's for sure!
Thanks for the video! It’s a big shame though to see it in this condition. “ITHAKI” never looked like that. The government of Canada clearly doesn’t take care of it. Anywhere you look, it’s rusty😢
Nice work as usual Carsten. Certainly the turning circle of that RAM you had wasn’t the best. Is the weather there particularly harsh? Many of the Canadian ferries seem to be rather rusty looking…. Oh and finally a cheaper meal onboard! Still getting over the Moby prices. Haha
Thank you for the kind words, Mitchell! Yes, the turning circle of that RAM was a bit of a challenge. As for the weather, it can be quite harsh in this region, which might explain the appearance of some of the ferries. The saltwater and weather conditions can certainly take their toll on the vessels. And about the meal onboard - yes, it's always a pleasant surprise to find a good meal that doesn't break the bank! The Moby prices are indeed something to remember. Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Was the video aboard the FUNDY ROSE shot off season? The public rooms looked quite empty. How many nautical miles is the crossing from Saint John to Digby and how long does it take?
This ferry trip took place on 27 May 2023. The times (e.g. departure, arrival) can be seen in the overlays in the video, here the departure time was 09:10 (local time) and the arrival 11:16. The distance is approximately 70 km. Why does it look so empty? Because I always try to film in such a way that only a few (better nobody) can be seen in the pictures. Either I wait until the area is (mostly) empty or I board very early so that I am at the locations before most of the others.

Did they steal BC Ferries logo or vice versa???? Welcome to the 21st century where NOBODY HAS AN ORIGINAL IDEA EVER!!!!!! can't wait for top gun part 56
This ship looks a disgrace on the outside. They should use some of the money from that overpriced, sad looking breakfast you had and buy some paint and a Rustibus machine.
It's incredible to see such strong interest, especially from Greece, which makes up 15.5% of the views since the upload (it is the biggest group of viewers). The connection with the FUNDY ROSE's previous life as BLUE STAR ITHAKI certainly seems to have resonated with Greek viewers. While I was on board, I strongly thought of my Greek audience and their connection to this vessel.
From Greece to our friends in Canada with love
The old Blue Star Ithaki...Sailing in the Aegean Sea long long ago
Thanks for your comment!
I miss the Princess of Acadia. She was so beautiful.
Old girl blue star Ithaki... So sad to see her so rusty and neglected... We miss you!!! Greece misses you!!!

I am loving your coverage of Atlantic Canada. I have lived in Nova Scotia for 17 years and have never made the trip to Shag Harbour.
Thank you! It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying my coverage of Atlantic Canada.

Not even one rusty spot when she were at our waters, at Aegean as BS Ithaki. So sad appearance.
Well, the ship is dealing with a much different climate than Greece’s
Old good blue star ithaki but its full od rust they are not taking care of the ship well in there😢

@@JustFerries Alright. Hopefully when you come to BC, you can do my favourite vessels like the Queen of Coquitlam, and Queen of new westminster!
I will do my best
, For the legend of the Aegean Sea it’s so sad , neglected ship and with a lot of rust now … Miss u Blue star Ithaki !! Come in Greece back
Hallo Carsten,

Before BLUE STAR ITHAKI
The ship is very rotten and rusted, it's a shame how the ship has become.
Blue star Ithaki
Blue star ithaki feels sad in canada!!! So alone and full of rust!!!Im so sad!
Συμφωνώ.
Great video as always!
Do Bay Ferries own a paintbrush?
Thanks for your feedback!

Rumours say that the ship Bay Ferries "Fundy Rose" will belong to Blue Star Ferries soon (~ 2025-2026). It will come to greece soon
Local (Canadian) here, But i’m afraid it won’t be returning to your waters anytime soon, sorry bud. :c
It will go to seajets in greece

Try Estonian ferries!
Thank you for your feedback. I get a lot of suggestions on what ferries or routes I should try, but unfortunately it's not feasible for me.
This ship looks a disgrace on the outside. They should use some of the money from that overpriced, sad looking breakfast you had and buy some paint and a Rustibus machine.
Full of rust…. This ship should return back to greece
Σύμφωνω φίλε . I totally agree
