I rarely leave comments on youtube. I just watch videos and most of them if seem to be interesting, I visit channels and if they have some useful or good content, I subscribe to them (rarely). But, Tyler you blew me, you shocked me with your hard work, sincerity, loyalty, and honesty. @@PatrickIsherwood No, you don't need PRO. The words are not shown on the new Wordpress version but the icons are still there at the bottom of the page. New section is the red circle with the plus button. The template button is the one in the middle that looks like a folder. Does this help?
@@PatrickIsherwood It's rough trying to troubleshoot when I can't see your screen, but I downloaded Elementor and then when you start a new page, you hit "edit with elementor" and then it opens up your new page with the elementor widgets to the left of your screen. At the bottom of your screen should be small Icons. A plus sign, folder, and widgets button.

Tyler says you are the go to guy for help. At the 42:18 mark on Tyler's great video, he shows us how to edit with the pencil widget. He is editing the bicycle section. His works and the "x" shows up to delete the potion of the section not wanted. Mine does not. I can't get the x to show up by either hovering or clicking on it or anything. Is there another way to delete that part of the section? Or to get that pencil editor to work? Thanks

For sure! Also if you find a solution (maybe a different plugin) that allows a lightbox to also pop up in mobile then please make that update. I've been searching and searching but haven't been successful. I'm specifically talking about adding the 'wp-video-lightbox' text in link relationship for the video in the menu section (as discussed in the updated version of your 2015 video). It doesn't pop-up in mobile. I even did WP LIVE to see if those guys could help but to no avail. Hopefully I'll find a solution soon. Thank you.

Hi Tyler, Awesome video, it really helped me big time in setting up my company website. One small technical question. Is there a plugin that will allow me to select one favicon for my desktop and a different app icon for iPhone and Android devices. As it stands now Wordpress just adds a black background to my transparent background favicon to create an app icon. I have a different platform appropriate design to use as an app icon, but I cannot figure out how to upload both. Thank you in advance. Best, ACI
For years I have managed a few websites using MS FrontPage but it was fast becoming outdated. I finally have had ti bite the bullet and look for an alternative and decided to give WordPress a try. It is fair to say I wasn't making much progress and was literally tearing my hair out and I really hadn't moved past the first step until I discovered this video. Initially it was a bit of a steep learning curve and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, still a long way to go but at least I am getting an understanding of the concept and am moving forward. This was really weird but I figured it out. They no longer show "My Library" or "My Templates" in the dropdown menu on your dashboard. You have to go to your page > edit with elementor > Hit the folder icon (add template) > "My Templates" at the top > Click the circle with up arrow in the middle in the upper right corner. this will take you to an import page where you click "Select File" and then select the template file you wish to use. Wheew!
An hour and more of teaching with perfect clicks without error of repeating and no advert in between shows your dedication on information you wants to pass on others. Thanks and remain blessed.

I am 33 minutes into the video, it is good. Now I am a bit stuck. I do not have the two boxes. Add new section, add new template. Do I have to go PRO to get the templates?
@@PatrickIsherwood No, you don't need PRO. The words are not shown on the new Wordpress version but the icons are still there at the bottom of the page. New section is the red circle with the plus button. The template button is the one in the middle that looks like a folder. Does this help?

@@PatrickIsherwood It's rough trying to troubleshoot when I can't see your screen, but I downloaded Elementor and then when you start a new page, you hit "edit with elementor" and then it opens up your new page with the elementor widgets to the left of your screen. At the bottom of your screen should be small Icons. A plus sign, folder, and widgets button.

Tyler says you are the go to guy for help. At the 42:18 mark on Tyler's great video, he shows us how to edit with the pencil widget. He is editing the bicycle section. His works and the "x" shows up to delete the potion of the section not wanted. Mine does not. I can't get the x to show up by either hovering or clicking on it or anything. Is there another way to delete that part of the section? Or to get that pencil editor to work? Thanks

For sure! Also if you find a solution (maybe a different plugin) that allows a lightbox to also pop up in mobile then please make that update. I've been searching and searching but haven't been successful. I'm specifically talking about adding the 'wp-video-lightbox' text in link relationship for the video in the menu section (as discussed in the updated version of your 2015 video). It doesn't pop-up in mobile. I even did WP LIVE to see if those guys could help but to no avail. Hopefully I'll find a solution soon. Thank you.

Hi Tyler, Awesome video, it really helped me big time in setting up my company website. One small technical question. Is there a plugin that will allow me to select one favicon for my desktop and a different app icon for iPhone and Android devices. As it stands now Wordpress just adds a black background to my transparent background favicon to create an app icon. I have a different platform appropriate design to use as an app icon, but I cannot figure out how to upload both. Thank you in advance.

For years I have managed a few websites using MS FrontPage but it was fast becoming outdated. I finally have had ti bite the bullet and look for an alternative and decided to give WordPress a try. It is fair to say I wasn't making much progress and was literally tearing my hair out and I really hadn't moved past the first step until I discovered this video.
Initially it was a bit of a steep learning curve and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, still a long way to go but at least I am getting an understanding of the concept and am moving forward.

they changed it to my templates
This was really weird but I figured it out. They no longer show "My Library" or "My Templates" in the dropdown menu on your dashboard. You have to go to your page > edit with elementor > Hit the folder icon (add template) > "My Templates" at the top > Click the circle with up arrow in the middle in the upper right corner. this will take you to an import page where you click "Select File" and then select the template file you wish to use. Wheew!
