I come from a family of European streamstresses but I never saw them use the technique for the quilter's knot. It's so easy and it produces a satisfying result! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for showing this method. I’ll use it in future. You inspired me to sew my last linen dress completely by hand. Flat felled and French seams were a delight. The dress looks as good inside as out and I feel special every time I wear it. ❤💖❤💖❤
I roll the cotton on my thumb instead of wrapping it around the needle then pull to the end the knot always goes right to the end magically. I also use a longer length to you. I find the method taught to me as a child very quick. I admit to using man made thread and no waxing. I do think it's nice to use the right thread especially if it's something special. So glad to find you. Most sewers use machines. ❤
@janice2992 I’ve always wanted to try that wrapping method you’re describing! One of my old coworkers use that method. It looks like a magic trick to me.
I like to wax and knot my thread before I measure it off and then clip it from the spool. After clipping it free, I wax the top portion of the thread. I adjust the way that I tie my knot to allow for it being on the spool.
@@bcase5328 that’s a really interesting way to do it. Does it help with the twist to wax it before cutting? I’ve never seen someone do that before. Thank you for sharing!☺️❤️

@@gillianalderson148 I love this so much!!! Well done! Sounds so beautiful!! ❤️
I never knew to thread the end that gets clipped off the spool because of the directionality of the thread!! That just blew my mind.
@@sarahmwalsh hooray! 🙌🏻💕
You changed my life when you taught me how to knot this way years ago.
@@sugarcoatedgoggles heck yeah!! 🎉🫶🏻 it’s a pretty cool trick!
Wow great lesson. Thanks
