Robert Glasper already explained why there was never a 2nd album From Lauryn. Because she never credited the musicians who did all the heavy lifting and actually arranged and produced that album. Thus they sued her and probably never worked with her again. For those who say, no it was all her. Why couldn't she put out more material on that level? And regarding that person who took time off work, got a babysitter, and drove three hours to a Lauryn Hill concert, with the full knowledge of her bad rep? They're just asking to be disappointed

Lauryn Hill first album sounds very dated to me. It was groundbreaking at the time it was released but I never want to go back and listen to it. I take issue with the fact that she is so hyped to this day when other singers put in work and made great music while she sat on her hands and disappointed fans. She doesn’t want to do music? that’s cool but there’s tons of talented people working and making the the sacrifices she chose not to make. She squandered her talent, the world needs to move on let her be.

What she said was taken out of context. I went to that show in Los Angeles at the Crypto Arena. It was her mother’s birthday and she brought out her mom, sang happy birthday to her and told us that many people tell her (Lauryn) that her music got them through. Lauryn explained that her mother helped get her through so she can create music to help others get them through. She had a community of women that helped her raise her children while she toured and because she had the help and support, we are lucky that she is able to be present on stage still performing because if she didn’t have that support, she would not be able to continue performing. That is what she said. I just so happened to be recording all this when she said that. So I got that full speech on my Facebook page somewhere.

I did security last year at a festival that Lauryn Hill was headlining, last year on Gold Coast, Australia. In morning when I showed up to work Lauryn Hill was doing sound check...it sounded amazing...then later that night, she went on a bit late and didn't sound as good as the sound check!!!

Lauryn flew too close to the sun. She’s just not what we thought she was. Since unplugged she’s one foot in one foot out. Having kids back to back, bad relationships, fighting the industry, treating her fans horribly and general mental instability has turned her kinda bitter. Not to mention the fugees fallout. She’s is spread thin and never quite found her way back to the top. One of the greatest What ifs. She’s one of those people who just have a hard time in life. Talents can be gifts and curses.

I believe Lauryn Hill has mental issues. Most people who are creative and have talents are subject to such curses (mostly in arts such music, movies, etc). Something like that adds more weight to their already extraordinary character traits. Different examples are Kanye West and Erykah Badu. They seem crazy to you but they are normal in their own world basically yet they behave super outta pocket or outlandish. Essentially you cannot be gifted and free from curses.

Lauren Hill has major issues. I attended one of her concerts for 18K people at the Hollywood Bowl years ago. Her band didn't show and she had only her guitar and a drummer. She refused to sing her hits and instead ranted angry folk songs like she was in a coffee shop or on the corner with a hat asking for change. The entire crowd filed out in silence like it was a funeral, confused. Many people got stuck in the parking lot for two hours. Never again. Some artists can't deal with the business. Some just have other goals. I was introduced to Barry Sanders by a mutual friend back in the 80s before he signed his contract. He was not yet 21 and was working as an intern at Allstate. Once he signed he would sometimes train at my Dad's athletic club. He was a very straight-laced and spiritual guy. He always said he'd only play professionally for ten years and that's what he did.
