I've put on 1400 miles in the last 2 weeks with the xr in colorado. Excellent machine so far!
I wonder…is the Ridge a test mule for the 4-banger to later put a high HP version in the KRX? We can always hope! Great video.
I think you're right about seeing that engine in the KRX.
is it direct injection or throttle body? Curious about turbo options as well. Hmm 🤔
Ya amazing machine, but do the homework. Any sustained speed above 40mph will destroy the cvt… Long term will prove if that is true or not. But for $30k plus I’m torn myself… 3 year warranty is nice until I have to deal with the warranty nonsense…
@@dirttraxtv Whoa wait ? What's a Krx and do I need one or take the shot with this model ? I have been shopping TH-cam reviews day and night as I am in need of a daily driver year round as I live rural and will be taking the money hit as I've had strokes , need to haul snowblower in winter and equip in summer . Oh Hello from Manitoba
@@cannotcostsmorethancanIf you’re doing work with it you won’t want the KRX. Get a cabbed Ridge.
You couldn't be more wrong on noise level in the cab. Just this weekend I test drove every HVAC cab UTV. Kawasaki Ridge had the lowest cab noise by a large margin. Additionally, this 4 cylinder engine is rubber mounted for less vibration and lower noise decibels. 4 cylinder engines also deliver more reliability, more torque, and more miles than any Vtwin could ever dream of.
Homie your comment just sold this machine to me . I was going to purchase the defender hd9 as I have the Outlander and wanting to stay can am family but having 2 kx And Kdx's in my much younger years that were indestructible and as I mentioned , your post lifting a huge weight from my mind . That would suit my property size and daily four season driver needs . Thanks From Manitoba Canada . Well you too Luke and Dirt Trax TV team and Fam .
@@cannotcostsmorethancanFellow Manitoba here - you can’t go wrong with Kawi quality sir!
@@pajamatime5750 hello neighbour , thnx for responding and greatly appreciate the intel . This interior is going to very welcomed at day's end .
@@cbrookb Kawi said they will fix it, I think he mentioned it in this clip or another. They have an early media release machine
I have to disagree there. I have a 24 Defender Limited. A friend just bought a Ridge hvac. At trail speeds, 35-50 mph the Ridge is much louder. That said, if I hadn't just bought my defender before these were released, I probably would have gone with the Kawi. Better suspension, more power and 3x the warranty!
I think it is supposed to compete with the Polaris Xpedition but falls a little short. I had money down on one before they were released but it didn’t check all the boxes for me. I h more wanted a KRX with an hvac cab system. In the end to each their own. Great video.
Thank you! I've spent enough time in this machine and apart from the bucket seats, I'd classify this thing in the same category as a Ranger Northstar. It is a utility sport UTV with bucket seats. Happens to have a 4-cyl that makes 116 HP vs the 82 HP ProStar twin, but I'd love to drag race the two to see how that difference in power hits the ground.
Just got mine love it!
I’ve seen a decent handful in person and the 26” wheels look almost comically undersized given the direction most UTV’s are going from the factory.
Yep they need 30" tires.
I’ve sat in this model at a dealer and the seats are comfortable, I’d stay away from the can am defender because my uncle bought the 2025 limited and the quality is terrible for the money. I’d go Polaris ranger or the ridge definitely
I drive multiple Ridge models everyday, and while the cab is nice and feels roomier than a Ranger, the things are too jerky when you have to do low speed driving, even in work mode.
The ridge or ranger in work mode ? Jerkiness ?
@@cannotcostsmorethancan the ridge is very jerky on the throttle at low speeds. And before you say I don’t know what I’m doing, I drive 20-30 different buggies from almost all the manufacturers every day….
Sitting in an enclosed cab and wearing goggles 😂
The suspension isn't great. The interior and powertrain are excellent though!
4 cylinder are gonna last longer in my opinion
You are 100% correct. No twin will ever last as long as a 4 cylinder.
Yep
I absolutely agree with everything. It's in it's own class which can be very good but the engine is a drawback. This class is better with a torquey motor not something reving to the moon. maybe the defender and ranger should be available with bucket seats.. a defender xtp
Hopefully they make a 4 seater soon
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉
Id buy XD1500 Premium before the Ridge
To bad you cant get the hvac with 3 seats it would be exactly what i want
The deluxe has 3 seats
@ptgtdcr yes and no hvac..or front diff lock. What a wasted opportunity
I sat in one today. It's good, but it has a critical flaw. The enclosed pockets in the frame/body panels will hold hundreds of pounds of mud. Really, really dumb design
you're not edging anymore, you're ridging!
One hundred percent disagree with you Kawasaki has been building inline 4 cylinders forever much better engine than a twin 10x over
4-cylinder equals more torque!!!!!!!!!!
not really......it should have way more for being a 4 cyl.
A twin has ZERO advantage over an inline 4.
Disagree. This engine is torquey, but takes forever to get up to speed. It is also much heavier than a twin. To be honest, this engine has very little advantage over a twin.
