To proceed otherwise is to turn it into a kangaroo court and be akin to the way they are conducted in dictatorships and communist governments: with no investigations and no accountability. Let the process play out. The more these people are brought to light, the more valuable these hearings processes become.

I voted for him every chance I got after that. I didn't vote for Trump in the primaries, but I decided I had to vote for him if he was running against Hillary Clinton. I was very pleasantly surprised at what Trump was able to accomplish, and very enthusiastically voted for him in the last election. Not quite as happy with him lately but that's a story for another time.
When Trump invited Romney to Mar-a-lago to talk about a cabinet position, and Romney went there, I had hoped that he was giving up his sniping at Trump. I hoped that maybe he had decided to talk to Trump face to face about things instead of lapping up whatever propaganda the mainstream media was churning out and then reacting to it like he had zero ability to think critically. I was disgusted when he proceeded to refuse Trump's uncharacteristically magnanimous job offer and ramp up his "never Trump"ing instead. And by now, I have to say I can't remember the last time Romney said something that I agreed with or even found to be reasonable. It's gotten to the point where I feel he is either identifying the right choice and going in the exact opposite direction, or he has entirely lost the ability and is relying on radical leftists to shepherd him along.
It baffles me that he could equate leftist ideology with a defense of the Constitution. Every attack I have ever seen on the Constitution came from the left, and that's all I ever hear from Romney anymore. It saddens me because I used to like him. I know he was always a bit left of what I consider orthodoxy and always seemed to promote the Bush style of prioritizing being polite over defending the rights of the people, but he's gone so far off the reservation I can't see anything in him that resembles what I used to think he was.
