Who else entered this area and just stood still for a few minutes with the visor up in the sky with the rain drops falling in your visor and seeing the beauty of the artifact temple?
a beautiful track, and one that tells a story of its own. The beautiful choir symbolizes how the Chozo were peaceful, and in perfect harmony with nature, while the seemingly random electronic sounds remind you just how alien they still are, and yet, the chaotic interval with the main theme suggests that, even here, in a much sacred place of their race, the corruption of the phazon still lurks beneath.
The Chozo were... interesting... as a species. In their early days they walked across the universe like gods... yet never went out of their way to rule the universe. They would rather see the universe thrive really... but few things were abominations even to them. With their knowledge and capabilities, they try to hunt these abominations and ensure that the universe is at peace. The X being one of them. The Phazon being another.
The nostalgia this song brings is unparalleled. I remember just standing at the temple, staring up at the clouds, watching as the rain pattered on Samus’ visor. This game is amazing, and the soundtrack is even better.
Ah....no words can describe this song. Everything just comes together. The atmosphere, the environment...so ominous, yet at the same time it's amazing.
I really like how the composer(s) intergrated that little bit in a lot of the themes in this game. Makes it seem like the corruption spreads all throughout the world of Tallon IV.
Really miss games like this that had great music for practically every aspect. Not that I dislike today's games, but you just appreciate a game more when it has such a variety of background music. Areas, enemies, bosses, or even something as simple as booting up from the save room (though to be fair, most games have done away with manual saving).
Crabbattles it’s a bit sad they did that. I find manual saving to be better for these types of open world games. And soundtracks haven’t been as touching or powerful in games for a while. I can only exclude Bayonetta, Metro, and a few others in recent years.
This music is so beautiful. Sadly, music like this, with a harp, a choir, and a hint of techno, is rarity in other Metroid games. It's a large reason why Prime is my favorite game in the series and one of my favorite single-player games of all time.
samuslightsuit Well, the Chozo are also still alive somewhere. It just so happens that wherever Samus goes, the remains of their culture have been destroyed...
Returning here after hearing it in Remastered. Was fantastic to young little 4 year old me playing with my dad on the Wii, and is still fantastic for 17 year old me to hear on the Switch today. Beautiful piece of music, truly brings the whole scene together.
Good God, I played this when it came out and beat it in a few days. I still remember all of the rooms, the dust that blows through the entrance to the Temple, the bugs that pop up, the boss battles, the statues, the Chozo ghosts ... This game was the peak of gaming. It was design and creativity at its finest. Even after 10 years it's the uncomparable leader of creativity and uniqueness.Skyrim, Halo, Uncharted, Mass Effect - they're all good, but when compared to this one, they don't exist.
was I the only one who, when playing the game a second time, just went to the temple as soon as i could, and just stared off into the distance listening to this?
Agreed. Modern games focus on gameplay gimmicks, forgetting what truly matters - atmosphere and immersion. A game is a journey you go on, not a story. The difference is huge. When you play Prime you explore a world, the visuals and sound combine to create an incredibly powerful atmosphere that infects you. You forget you're sitting their in the dark on the sofa, instead you're trudging through the snow surrounded by ruins and strange creatures. I'll never forget this game and what it represents.
I thank God for having played a metroid at the age of 9 and discovering an experience that would mark my life. This game boost my curiosity in space and then science.❤
I FINALLY got this game months ago, and started playing it just recently. When I got to this part, it was like something clicked and I suddenly understood why people like this game so much.
Man, I never realized just how precious human imagination is until I came back after playing so many games, nothing compares to the complete mastery of the spirit this series took on, I pray that our imagination can only develop further, this is pure magic.
I can recall, crystal-clear, my first travel through this area. We will never again be able to experience a feeling as such or as intense as this. Grateful that it was, but it's just an emotional taunting now.
Its amazing how a game like this had such an immense impact on me, listening to the music of the game actual makes me feel good aswel as sad, sad that i know i will never play this game again, not knowing what lies behind the next door... O man, i just wish i could erase it from my memory and play it all over again, and again, and again, and again... In my eyes, the BEST game i've ever played in my life.
Yes, i agree with you. The time I spent playing at Mp1 was amazing. I know it was released 6 years ago, but I played for the first time last year, and it was an absolutely spectacular experience.
Upon arriving at this area, I sat down idly in awe, listening to this beautiful track for a little over an hour...such a fantastic game. Metroid Prime made my childhood; something I won't soon forget.
Ah...I love this area. I'd just go out there and stand in the rain to watch the little drops on the helmet-surface and listen to the music...So lovely...
I may have been born 4 years from gamings last golden days, but...I still have these games, Luigi's Mansion, Metriod Prime 1 and 2 Echoes, Super Smash Brothers Melee. These were the last games not concerned about money, fame, or even being known. They put playability and love into their games. I miss the spirit back then. I may have been young, but I thank the final loving developers who put the game before the money. May the copies of games of old live on forever in our hearts and minds. :)
Something about having Samus look up into the rainy sky, watching as raindrops hit her visor, all while listening to this music just really puts me at ease.
Metroid prime, continue them, I saw something about this game, and I recently remembered my childhood, metroid prime was literally the prime of most games.
I have to say one thing. I was raised on this game series. When I was too young to play it, I watched my dad play it. Now that I'm old enough to, I don't play it, because it would mean closure, and an end to the wonderment in my mind.
(Seem Chapel of the Elders continues this song) Also it seems like one of those type of music where after a long and terrible battle (or when the good guys are losing), a holy/peaceful music comes on and brings hope
Metroid Prime is like one of the best game out there Prime 1 has the best Atmosphere, a planet with beautiful Nature plus the music is beautiful. Prime 2 has the best Epic music. Prime 3 has the best game play and Strategy
A long time ago, i went to NC on a trip to see my family. At that time, the games i knew and loved consisted to repetitive games like Mario Kart and Pokemon. At NC, i found a game i had never seen before: "METROID PRIME". i asked if i could play it and my uncle said yes. The first couple of minutes included me learning how to walk and jump... but the next 2 days were... beautiful... to this day, i still havent beaten the game (havent played in a very long) but looking back, i almost cry.
Add that and the fact of the many sequence breaks you can make with the oldest version of the disc (Which is the one I happen to have) the sequence breaks make it all much more fun and difficult and it even screws up the tallon overwold theme among other things.
@sephious159 Prime 1 was just years ahead of its time when it came out. It really helped pave the way for a lot of 3D games these days. That's Retro Studios for you.
i would just stand there. listening to this music for hours staring up at the rain drenched sky, i used to bow to all the statues of the Chozo elders. best.......music...ever
Man this sure takes me back. I was like 13 when I first played this game. Didn't even know there were other Metroid games before then. The score really is something else. Kinda moving isn't it?
If you have never played this game before playing Halo 3, or Call Of Duty, or Medal of Honor, you will never get the feeling that many peolpe have had while listenig to this music.
Wouldn't you rather want to look back into your mind to relive the memories of you playing? The magic of maybe is good...the magic of remeberence is grand. I'd hope you play them one day, and fortold..have memories to look back upon. :3
I like to look up, let the rain bounce off Samus' Visor, and start humming this music in an attempt to feel what Samus might have felt when she first got to the Temple. I always got a mournful vibe.
This game transcends time. I hope you agree with me that when your kids ask for video games, THIS will be one of if not THE first you'll show them. Metroid Prime WILL become of of those old games worth a fortune eventually. Like the NES games today are becoming.
Who else entered this area and just stood still for a few minutes with the visor up in the sky with the rain drops falling in your visor and seeing the beauty of the artifact temple?
Hell yeah! Awesome :) the atmosphere of the trilogy is amazing. Even better on wii.
samy29987 lol i did xD!
samy29987 Hell yes!!!!
PrimeJonah atmosphere is always absolutely nailed in Metroid games, prime honestly being the PRIME example of this.
i did i couldn't help myself lol
a beautiful track, and one that tells a story of its own. you are so into the game i like that
The Chozo were... interesting... as a species. In their early days they walked across the universe like gods... yet never went out of their way to rule the universe. They would rather see the universe thrive really... but few things were abominations even to them. With their knowledge and capabilities, they try to hunt these abominations and ensure that the universe is at peace.
The X being one of them. The Phazon being another.
i'm the same way with League of legends lore hehe
And Federation Force don't forget the third.
The electronic sounds remind me of how Phazon perverted the temple and just Tallon IV overall.
The nostalgia this song brings is unparalleled. I remember just standing at the temple, staring up at the clouds, watching as the rain pattered on Samus’ visor. This game is amazing, and the soundtrack is even better.
This was like the "Dark side of the moon" of gaming. It was ahead of its time in terms of creativity and design. Both of which were masterful.
Ah....no words can describe this song. Everything just comes together. The atmosphere, the environment...so ominous, yet at the same time it's amazing.
+Christopher Kariotis It leaves one in awe
Wow, I never noticed the original title screen theme starting at :58. Awesome
I really like how the composer(s) intergrated that little bit in a lot of the themes in this game. Makes it seem like the corruption spreads all throughout the world of Tallon IV.
Oh wow, I never noticed that until now, dayum.
I was just looking at the comments to see if someone noticed it to comment it haha! Just noticed that now xD!
😱
Yes
This song alone is a reminder that this game from the early 2000s is one of the greatest video games of all time. A seriously beautiful masterpiece. 😭
I'm playing it rn for the first time and it's amazing. One of the best games jve every played
@@Lilhajxjk274 😭❤
Oh man... these games were the shit. Nothing can compare to it.
Just wait till you feel the consol war bite.
I absolutely love how they included the main metroid theme in this song.

Ah, the age of adventure-shooters. And WHAT an adventure this trilogy was! *Lovestruck face*
wasent all that peached about 3 tbh.
This played in my head when Metroid Prime 4 was announced
I think of this music as the opening music of a Metroid movie or something like that.
This music is so beautiful. Sadly, music like this, with a harp, a choir, and a hint of techno, is rarity in other Metroid games. It's a large reason why Prime is my favorite game in the series and one of my favorite single-player games of all time.
'the chozo's faith in Samus has been well rewarded, and now a new star shines in the universe - the light of Samus Aran'
The music felt like if this was the last place where the Chozos legacy was still intact and their culture was alive.
Chris Purolover, you probably hated it when Meta Ridley came and wrecked it😠
Remember about Samus. Their legacy never died, she now carries on in their stead.
Grau Wolff Yup. But then they got their revenge when the statues' eyes shot him down. :)
samuslightsuit Well, the Chozo are also still alive somewhere.
It just so happens that wherever Samus goes, the remains of their culture have been destroyed...
@@DropkickNation
With what Samus Returns hints at, they possibly could be
Samus fulfilling the Prophecy of Light as written by the Chozo.
Metroid Prime was clearly a game inspired by God. A gift.
Returning here after hearing it in Remastered. Was fantastic to young little 4 year old me playing with my dad on the Wii, and is still fantastic for 17 year old me to hear on the Switch today. Beautiful piece of music, truly brings the whole scene together.
Does anybody else just want to stand still in a warm summer rain and listen to this, or is it just me?
its not just you.
For some reason i always get this sense of sadness just from listening to this. several times i almost cried because of that feeling.
Good God, I played this when it came out and beat it in a few days. I still remember all of the rooms, the dust that blows through the entrance to the Temple, the bugs that pop up, the boss battles, the statues, the Chozo ghosts ...

Prime had some really good soundtracks! Really gets you in the vibe.
was I the only one who, when playing the game a second time, just went to the temple as soon as i could, and just stared off into the distance listening to this?
I do this too everytime I play MP1.
I loved how the Chozo left messages to help Sammy from beyond the grave. If I was more emotional, I'd tear up.
It took me so long to find that one artifact in the tower where the Flying Pirates were.
Metroid is the queen of ambience
Agreed. Modern games focus on gameplay gimmicks, forgetting what truly matters - atmosphere and immersion. A game is a journey you go on, not a story. The difference is huge. I'd love to visit this location in real life. I'm on the verge of tears just thinking about it.
Beetleguy Until Ridley shows up... :)
Mogenar i think he was talking about the chozo temple in phendrana actually (or maybe not)
that would put you into dangerous proximity with phazon so....
ye but you become a super-mutant-human with phazon enhanced abilities after contact with phazon so why not ;)
ye you get corrupted basically, you lose any kind of reason and become a beast
I thank God for having played a metroid at the age of 9 and discovering an experience that would mark my life. This game boost my curiosity in space and then science.❤
This game is so underrated :(
This music is one of the reasons I think Metroid Prime 1 is the best of the three.
i agree but all of them have great atmosphere and art direction
I FINALLY got this game months ago, and started playing it just recently. When I got to this part, it was like something clicked and I suddenly understood why people like this game so much.
R.I.P. BrawlBRSTMs3 X's Metroid Prime videos. :(
I'm somehow just realizing what plays at 0:58 That's the classic Metroid title screen! Or I just forgot. Been years since I played Prime
You can hear bits of the intro theme at 0:58.
Man, I never realized just how precious human imagination is until I came back after playing so many games, nothing compares to the complete mastery of the spirit this series took on, I pray that our imagination can only develop further, this is pure magic.

No idea at all. I've beaten it like, 77 times, although it never got old..
Its amazing how a game like this had such an immense impact on me, listening to the music of the game actual makes me feel good aswel as sad, sad that i know i will never play this game again, not knowing what lies behind the next door...

Yes, i agree with you. The time I spent playing at Mp1 was amazing. I know it was released 6 years ago, but I played for the first time last year, and it was an absolutely spectacular experience.
I really love how this track hints toward the final boss theme
It's the song of Melody to me and it's like listening to the Goddess in Heaven only Chozo Creatures
Upon arriving at this area, I sat down idly in awe, listening to this beautiful track for a little over an hour...such a fantastic game. Metroid Prime made my childhood; something I won't soon forget.
Amen. Truly a perfect creation by Retro Studios.
this song fills me with tears of joy
Ah...I love this area. I'd just go out there and stand in the rain to watch the little drops on the helmet-surface and listen to the music...So lovely...
Awesome, simply awesome. I love the echoes of the main metroid theme about a minute in. God I love this soundtrack.
I may have been born 4 years from gamings last golden days, but...I still have these games, Luigi's Mansion, Metriod Prime 1 and 2 Echoes, Super Smash Brothers Melee. These were the last games not concerned about money, fame, or even being known. They put playability and love into their games.

Something about having Samus look up into the rainy sky, watching as raindrops hit her visor, all while listening to this music just really puts me at ease.
Tallon and Phendrana Dirts is one of the best areas to be in because of there music plus the nature something you can just relax to
every song is a masterpiece in this game from temples to boss battles
I remembered this song out of no where today haha its been like over 5 years since i played this game
whenever i play prime 2, or 3, or other m, i remember this. this was a classic, that opened metroid to the world of 3d, and great music.
This makes me feel like I've died and gone to heaven.
playing this and rainymood together feels like Im playing the game again :D
Metroid prime, continue them, I saw something about this game, and I recently remembered my childhood, metroid prime was literally the prime of most games.
Get the chills every time. Cant say enough good things about this game.
All the music from this game is pure genious, specially this one and the chozo ice temple. Retro studios & nintendo did an amazing job.
This song is right up there with the LoZ Temple of Time. Best 2 holy sounding pieces ever.
Metroid Prime is one of the best games I've ever played by far. Period.
Underrated track.
Magnificent I like this one and the PRIME PINBALL one.
this game will never be beaten it has the most phenomenal music
I have to say one thing. I was raised on this game series. When I was too young to play it, I watched my dad play it. Now that I'm old enough to, I don't play it, because it would mean closure, and an end to the wonderment in my mind.
Legendary stuff - reminds me of my college days
2021 we are still here

Hell, if I never played this series to death, 3 out of 4 games that you've mentioned I would have never played.
Legendary!!!
I loved this game so much I literally took 20 hours to beat it. I never wanted it to end.
My mom's funeral is going to have amazing grace played on the bagpipes. I agree with you. I want this song at my funeral. along with rainy mood.

Relajante y linda a la vez 😊
I did the same! It's like you can not leave this area, plus it's also a nice place to stop and rest with no fighting around :)
*T Poses in Chozo*
@sephious159 Prime 1 was just years ahead of its time when it came out. It really helped pave the way for a lot of 3D games these days. That's Retro Studios for you.

One of the best tracks in the game.
yea when i fist seen this game i was like wow look at the graphics and how water drips and fogs on the viser its so realistic and i still do
@NintendocaprisSon
Oh, what the Hades!? That's so soothing and uber!
to me the first Metroid Prime is the best because I think it has great music, great background
Please, Metroid Prime 4, do explore more of the Chozo and their mysteries
Wouldn't you rather want to look back into your mind to relive the memories of you playing? The magic of maybe is good...the magic of remeberence is grand. I'd hope you play them one day, and fortold..have memories to look back upon. :3
@MrMrsirr I quit echoes like a quarter of the way through it, is it worth going back and playing? havent touched a gamecube in nearly 4years...
this music is awsome and its relaxing
I like to look up, let the rain bounce off Samus' Visor, and start humming this music in an attempt to feel what Samus might have felt when she first got to the Temple. I always got a mournful vibe.
0:58 I love the inclusion of the Metroid and Super Metroid Title Screen theme!!
This music plays when you peer into the face of God.
Choir + Techno = Brilliant!
This game transcends time. I hope you agree with me that when your kids ask for video games, THIS will be one of if not THE first you'll show them. Metroid Prime WILL become of of those old games worth a fortune eventually. Like the NES games today are becoming.
Listen to this while reading all of the Chozo lores, thinking of that lady, Samus :)
and now... I love Rain. for EVER!
