  • Little alcohol ink tutorial on how to use your hairdryer when doing ink fades etc.
    When I first started with ink I found it very difficult to control the air. Inks flew all over the place.... so I thought I would do a little video showing you guys how I use my hairdryer and give beginners some tips and tricks.
    I have a Remington hairdryer - it came with some brush attachments that I put away. I use very little heat and the lowest volume. I know other ink artist who use a Revlon hairdryer which is very similar to mine.
    I hope some of you will find this video helpful.
    It was fun to do and I actually really like how this little piece turned out.... what do you think about the end result??
    #alcoholink #alcoholinkartist
    For this piece I used:
    #Nara Paper
    Remington Hairdryer
    #Ranger Moss
    Ranger Sunset orange
    #Copic Black
    99% isopropyl alcohol

    Hi Randi. Love your art! I am beginning with alcohol inks and liked the idea of doing it in white ceramic tile, which was recommended a couple of different places. Have you ever had a problem with your ink wiping off your project when you think it’s dry? I have found it to happen with Ranger as well as a less expensive brand I have. I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong.

    • @randihart5731
      @randihart5731  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi 😊 you’re not doing anything wrong- you can always wipe some ink off, especially on a tile. If you want to keep what you painted you just have to varnish it.

      @T3po69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your quick response! I’ve been scouring the internet. I just remembered that I saw a diy blending solution that was alcohol plus a drop of glycerin. That may not have helped.

    • @randihart5731
      @randihart5731  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re welcome. Yes you can use a heat gun, but it depends on the type.... my heat gun has different settings, and I only use the lowest amount of air and heat. If it’s to hot it will ruin the paper. So maybe try it out on a small piece of paper first and see what happens

    Hej Randi. Jeg elsker dine videoer og har fundet så megen hjælp og inspiration hos dig! Jeg har et spørgsmål; når jeg lægger min ink på papiret, så spreder det sig med det samme, hvor dit bliver så fint liggende i den pøl/prik du lægger det. Hvorfor gør mit ikke det? 😩 jeg bruger også ranger og touch ink og bruger det yupo papir der hedder Academy Series der bl.a. har grå og pink alkohol ink “blomster” på forsiden. Håber virkelig du kan hjælpe mig, for er så super frustreret! 🙁

    • @randihart5731
      @randihart5731  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hej Ginnie 😊 det er pga af papiret. På både Academy papir og Yupo papir suger ink’en en lille smule ned i papiret og det er derfor det spreder sig ud. Jeg bruger ofte Nara papir, og her suger det ikke rigtig ned i - og bliver derfor liggende lige der hvor jeg drypper ink’en på.
      På Nara kan man tørre alt ink’en af igen med alkohol - har man tørret noget af på et stykke papir og kommer ny ink på, vil ink’en også sprede sig en lille smule mere ud som på andre typer papir. Håber det hjælper 🤞☺️
