Honestly, I like the Integra Type R in the same way I like the FN2 Civic Type r: Not for how good it handels or fast it accelerates, but for the way it looks
The integra Type R was the best looking Honda of its days and if feel the same for the FN2. They are the sort of cars you want to be in, when you decide to make a trip among one of the great European roads. the car you want to finish your day with, standing next to, watching the sun go down.
Yeah I miss the Integra. It was the Honda I wanted a Honda to be like, just.
Prices of Integra DC2 are skyrocketing!

The FN2 was created to fight vs european rivals, not to be compared to other Type R's, is a comfotable hot hatch for daily life. You cannot drive daily a DC2 to work, or your back will pain.

Derrick Lee my two cents, it just plain ugly. Same as the 2015 european type r, they make it look like some kinda minivan hybrid looking car.

Derrick Lee I agree about the exterior design, but in many countries of europe its the only CTR 2007-2010 available, i mean, in UK they can drive DC5 or FD2 but in France or Germany for example, we can only drive the FN2 cause of the law. So yes its a bit weird but at least its a type R, and actually with some mods it can reach 240Hp easily so ....not a bad Civic !
MyGorilla1 what's with the law? I don't see why no one is allowed to import a foreign model, provided that the car owner is willing to pay higher insurance premium, tax and more tedious paperwork. I'm currently based in the UK even so FD2 is not officially sold in the UK so FN2 is the only available option. I know there are a few FD2R being imported from Japan but man, that's just so rare. I have yet to see one after so many years lol.
Derrick Lee Import cars are very hard to get in France,many issues with customs plus they are so expensive once they reach french floor! about 2000GBP more than your UK price....so lots of people give up. I know FD2 wasn't officially sold in UK but i guess its easier for you to get one. Despite its ugly face ( which a used to like)i think its a good daily drive.
I have this FN2, and yes its probably the worst typeR out there, rear suspension, weak brakes, not the most powered K engine... But im a drummer and I can fit all my drum set in the trunk without having to move the rear seats forward! :D plus its the latest N/A typeR!

Not compared to the fn2. I went to IKEA with my FN2. Fitted stuff for a whole room in the car.
I know I got the FK1 and itz a big trunk the FD2R is coupe/limousine. I like both of these cars from the 8th Gen.
Why you bought it if it's the worst?
@UCjiIBbUZ9jymga-s40u6OPQ even its the worst typeR in numbers against al other civics, it still fit my needs in space, fuel consumption, and its the best looking generation. I dont track it or race it so I dont really care about numbers.
In my mid 30's and having had an STI and jdm DC2 I am over the huge wings....unless its on a real OEM semi-exotic like a Porsche. To make a long story short I could have gone Evo VIII or FN2....but for a more relaxed and high quality experience I went FN2 as a daily driver and that thing suits me just right. Reliable, well mannered, surprisingly comfortable in traffic and happy one a freeway blast. EP3 looked like a bread van and FD2 was just over priced given what I could get for that money (330i, 130i, R33 GTR, DC5 and the list goes on). Back in a Honda and being worry free is a sweet feeling. FN2's are sexier in person as well...especially with a GP front splitter (mine came with one WOOT)

Fn2 is nice car really don't understand why people hate it,that drive couple times? There is no big difference comparing with fd2,fd2 have 222bhp and does 0-60 in 6sec,fn2 have 198bhp and does 0-60 in 6.5 sec so comparing by horses if fn2 had the same amount would be quicker when fd2,would go for fn2 coz I really like how it looks like and especially when it's mugen fn2
arun ly fd2 also lighter just 1260 kg compare to fn2 1320 kg
People are sheep and hate it because that they think everyone else does. I find that the vast majority of people hatin' on it have never driven one extensively or more likely, not at all. It's a great all rounder with unique looks...and an awesome platform to modify to be even sharper/quicker. The FD2 is legendary of course, but was developed for a different market with a different purpose in mind. No real point making a direct comparison in my opinion. I like both.
@@wildchilde69i know you used to have one. I'm missing VTEC and Honda. What should I get for the future..fd2 or cl7? There is a difference of £8k between them and the Accord might be better for a future family?!
The euro civic of this generation has stood exceptionally well against time and my bet is that the type R FN2 will be the sought after classic for the next 20 years.
I think the car his styling was a bit the same story as the 80s Ford Sierra (XR4i): radical when it was released but as the years come by, many of the initial haters start to appreciate it. It gives the car so much personality.

It depends. It doesn't have the double wishbones in the rear, so it is not ideal for the cirquit, but otherwise on normal roads it has adequate handling making it a very fun car. For everyday use, I think he FN2 is far from a bad car to have.
TassieLorenzo Incorrect. FD2 is an unfair comparison. The fn2 is quicker than the ep3 in many faster tracks as well as some very tight tracks. Only the jdm spec ep3 with more power and other differences such as balanced crank shafts, higher compression pistons etc is quicker than the fn2 but again that is an unfair comparison. If you compare EDM vs EDM Ep3 vs Fn2, the Fn2 is a faster car but is more refined which is why people who love the ep3 criticised it; because 'it doesn't feel fast' when it reality it is.

From the 3th Golf GTi onwards, it kinda lost its racer image. the first Gti was much the car the Civic EP3 was, the GTi II then again was much like FN2 (both cars got the balance right in my opinion ;)) but anything afther that was much like a top of the range hatchback with the biggest engine for the best payed floor manager.

Razeiken understeer like a VW, no sper, weak brakes. (compare to the FD2)
Razeiken only the Champ WHT was with LSD. I drove the FN2 several times. The brakes way weaker on the FN2, fade fast.
And my personal opinion is the worst type R ever. sorry. :( (I've owned a DC2 and now an S2k)

in europe we dont have fd2 and is a fail. and did not have the dc5 was a fail too.
i love honda but really they sucks in the job about sell his cars in europe, EUROTRASH.
We got fucked over with that Euro R a bit, FD2 is so much better and more practical too.
Definitely not more practical, plus I wouldn’t say we got fucked over, it’s still a very good type r, just not as good as the fd2, that doesn’t make it bad tho.

why is the fn2 heavier than the fd2 when it's a smaller car riding on a chassis designed for the fit/jazz? where is the placement of that "extra" weight of the fn2 attributable to ?
Part of it can be the extra insulation in fn2.
FN2 was designed for UK/EU and harder plastics aside, has a distinctly "European" feel about it relative to JDM cars of the same era. It feels less "tinny" overall, especially when closing the door you get that same satisfying, heavier action as you do from a VW/Audi or BMW/Merc for example. It also has far more safety and technical features compared to the FD2, which is more spartan in comparison (which is the true Type R ethos to be fair). It's actually a great all-round car if you want to have a bit of fun, whilst the FD2 is more focused and better suited as a circuit car or weekend racer.
On paper the fd2 is heavier, 1270 of compared to 1267kg for the fn2. The gt fn2 will weigh abit more than 1267 but there’s no way it’s 60kg heavier

硬いとか乗りにくいとかボロカスに言ってたのよ。そこをマイルドに作り替えたのがFN2だからかなりええよ。

デザインの話で言っちゃうとFN2の時点でもうチャンピョンシップホワイトが似合うデザインではなくなってるよね()
フィットをベースにFN2を作ったという所に誤解があります。フィットのセンタータンクシャシーをベースに開発した欧州シビックを3ドア化し作ったのがFN2です。ボディのジオメトリもフィットとは違いますしもちろんシャシー性能も違います。
リアサスレイアウトがトーションバーアクスルビームになった時点で、
それをシビックと…ましてやTypeRと言ってしまう事に違和感しか無く、
納得出来なかったからによる、
あくまで個人的な持論です。
