Not only Bhubaneswar But entire Odisha has a lot of potential, It can be one of the leading states of India , Unfortunately freebies and lack of political enthusiasm and the feeling of " Chali Jauchi Au " Has held odisha back for a while. Though The BJD govt has done brilliant work a lot more enthusiasm and vison needs to be addressed .

Last year I went to Bhubaneswar. The city looks way cleaner and more modern as compared to Kolkata.

I am from Bhubaneswar. I can say it’s truly a smart city. Good infrastructure, road and rail networks, best medical and education institutions, low cost of living, clean, safe and progressive city. You can have a peaceful life there.
This video omitted one more achievement of Bhubaneswar : It is also the medical hub of East India. Bhubaneswar has a large number of private hospitals which are full of patients from West Bengal. Their numbers are so great that restaurants and pharmacies around these hospitals also have signboards in Bangla. Lodgings and hotels also write their names in Bangla so that these medical tourists can easily identify them. I won't be surprised if these hospitals start putting up information panels in Bangla. WB's population is more than twice that of Odisha but the state's land area is much smaller which means WB has a much higher population density than Odisha. There are not enough medical resources and facilities for Bengalis in their own home state and that is why they have to travel so far from their homes for medical treatment.

However that being said, a lot of Indian Bengalis, especially those who still live in West Bengal have a superiority complex which has not abated. They still live on their past glories from more than 70 years ago.

I have been staying at Bhubaneswar for past 1 year. I am just at awe about the roads at Bhubaneswar which are clean, wide and free of potholes. You also get wide pedestrian walk and travel is very cheap atleast on main roads with share autos. You also get all amenities. Overall it truly exceeded my expectations.

Guy literally the growth of the city Bhubaneswar is just like awesome. As I am here working in MNC in Bhubaneswar like all the facilities and environment of this city . This is only because of the CM Shri Naveen Patnaik.
I live in both the city. One thing I found good in Kolkata that is their residential area which they called pada area is more clean than bbsr. There is no dust on the street because they cover whole streets with pichu. No side gap for mud and no open drain.

I lived in Kolkata for more than 3 years and in BBSR for 1.5 years. Despite being Odia, I prefer Kolkata for the following reasons:
Mo Bus is doing a good job in BBSR, but transportation in Kolkata is cheaper and more convenient. There are so many buses that I never had to wait more than 5 minutes.
House rent and property prices are cheaper in Kolkata, with better locations and interiors. In BBSR, due to false hype, rents and property prices are high. In Kolkata, you can get a 2 BHK for 27-45 lakhs in prime locations with many facilities, whereas in BBSR, prices range from 65-85 lakhs.
In Kolkata, food and everything else is cheaper. I lived in New Town, and they say it's even cheaper in the older areas.
The misinformation about Muslim dominance in Kolkata is totally wrong. People are very helpful and love Odias.
BBSR is very clean and less crowded compared to Kolkata.
Job opportunities are more plentiful in Kolkata.
I don't like the behavior of BBSR shopkeepers and hostel owners. They charge unnecessarily high fees and are not well-behaved. Maybe I had a bad experience.
However, I must say that Kolkata hasn't made significant improvements in recent years, whereas BBSR has improved itself more.

Kolkata and Bhubaneswar can't be compared. Kolkata is an old city, Bhubaneswar is a newly built planned city. Even being an old city, the type of improvements it has undergone in last 40 years despite the constraints is amazing. Yes, there had been depletion of manufacturing units due to technological obsolescence but still there is no dearth of IT hubs and hotel chains. The city is still maintaining its heritage. This city is one of the metros in India where there is no traffic snarl, inspite of having thickly populated automobile density.
